I don't know why I hadn't heard this before yesterday when David Webb played it when he was subbing for Andrew Wilkow, because this clip is over two years old. But Morgan Freeman's comments on Black History Month (this month) are right on the money ... And their sheer brilliance left Mike Wallace sputtering and stammering:

This one short clip sums up race relations and the issue of race better than anything that has ever been said about the topic ,,,, and we all know a lot has been said about the topic.

Pure and simple, this country's obsession with race is, frankly, racist. What does the color of one's skin matter? Morgan Freeman wasn't about to let this obsession get in his way. Oprah Winfrey -- who once was heard to boast about the number of white people she had working for her -- a woman consumed with seeing things through the prism of her "black womanhood" excelled in spite of her obsession. The simple fact of the matter, as Morgan Freeman so plainly stated, is that we'd all be a hell of a lot better off if we saw ourselves as AMERICANS, not hyphenated-American whatever you want to call yourselves. This is a truth that was completely lost on liberal reporter Mike Wallace. It simply didn't compute. And that is the very problem.

Wind Energy: Not Ready for Prime Time

You see literally dozens of these lined up all across Wyoming and Utah. They are popping up like mushrooms in Iowa and other places in the Midwest. The Once and Fallen Messiah touts them as the way he's going to bring the economy "back from the brink". One would presume that they would play a big part in his goal to generate 80% of our power from "green" sources. Given all this, it's too bad these things collapse in the face of a little cold weather:

The guy who posted this on his blog explains the phenonmenon: The fact that extreme cold stresses steel is scientific fact. And apparently 164 tons of stressed steel occasionally doesn't support itself very well. Additionally, the stresses of high winds can cause these monsters to blow apart. Some of the other hazards of wind turbines are detailed here in an article explaining that energy conservation efforts could actually save more energy than wind power generates. To top it all off, none of the multitude of articles detailing the problems with wind energy even talk about the cost of transporting these moronic devices. As someone who lives on Interstate 80 15 miles from a plant where these monsters are built, I can tell you that it takes a fleet of trucks and an armada of pilot vehicles to move just ONE of these eyesores to its final resting place.

Facts are facts and the facts are that "green" technology doesn't work. As Terry Brome pointed out in his blog post, when have you seen a coal or gas-fired power plant collapse under high wind speeds? And how many of these 1.5 megawatt turbines that sweeps two acres of vertical air space does it take to equal the output of ONE power plant? Why I'm glad you asked. It takes 750 1.5 megawatt wind turbines each sitting on a minimum one acre of space to produce the same amount of power as ONE modern coal-fired power plant.

When you actually examine the facts surrounding "green energy" sources, it becomes clear that the goal of the lefties (Barack Obama chief among them) is not to provide for our future energy needs with "green technology". It is to render our power grid a shell of it's former self and reduce our power-generating capacity to cut us down to size. Obama may be a dyed in the wool socialist brought up worshipping the communist Frank Marshall Davis and he may be a total buffoon as president but one thing he ain't is stupid. He has access to the same facts (even more) about the total impracticality of "green energy" as the average American does. To paraphrase the Once and Fallen Messiah, the plan is to cripple our ability to generate enough power to meet our needs causing the cost of generating power to "necessarily skyrocket", thereby knocking America down a couple notches on the world stage because it just isn't fair that we "have five percent of the world's population and consume 25% of the world's resources". "Spreading the wealth around" on a global scale is what it's all about here. But the average Joe would never believe that a president of the United States would actually set out to cripple our ability to produce enough power. Couple this fact with the righteous indignation hurled in the direction of anyone who voices the undeniable truth that this Marxist has a stated policy of contempt for America's status as the most prosperous nation on earth and what do you have? You have 75% of the American public blind to the fact that we are purposely diminishing our ability to produce enough power because the leftists want it that way.

Consider these facts:

We are sitting on THE LARGEST reserves of oil and natural gas in the world, yet Democrats consistently block every attempt to access our natural resources. China is furiously buying up oil leases while we are shutting down our oil exploration.
Democrats also block every attempt to revive the nuclear power industry in this country even though nuclear power is one of the safest forms of power generation in the world. (Despite what the lefties will tell you, Three Mile Island was proof that nuclear safeguards on nuke power plants work, not the opposite.)
Democrats consistently tout failed and failing "green" technologies as the way "to achieve energy independence" when the reverse is true: Tapping our tried, true and plentiful sources of energy is the way to achieve energy independence. Other forms of power generation will take shape when they are viable in the free market. Until then, we'll continue to have dangerous absurdities like collapsing wind turbine towers or simply absurd absurdities like the Government Motors "electric" car that runs on an electric motor powered by a battery charged by a four-cylinder gas motor.

What does this all mean? It means that Barack Obama and his merry band of leftists aren't just a gaggle of utter buffoons: They bave as their stated goal to diminish of America's status as a world power. After all (to paraphrase the ex-Messiah again) the people of Botswana and Namibia probably believe in Botswanan and Namibian exceptionalism as well. In other words, Barack doesn't believe that there is anything more exceptional about the United States than there is about any other country. Why should our power-generating capacity be any better than anyone else's? And why should we use more than the five percent of the world's resources our population deserves?

Want to end the decline in this country's power-generating capacity? End Barack Obama's (and Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi's and the multitude of other leftists) ability to have any influence on our energy policy: Boot them out of office!

Where's Algore When You Need Him?

As I write this, it's ten degrees outside with snow and 50 mile an hour winds. By morning we'll have upwards of a foot of snow on the ground that will be blowing around at 40-50 mph until midday. This winter has been the most brutal for the east coast with record snowfalls in New York City and FEET of snow in places like North Carolina and Georgia. Oklahoma's winter weather is nearly as brutal as it is in Iowa this winter and Oklahoma is 500 miles south of here. And this winter isn't nearly as bad out here in flyover country as LAST winter was.

Through all of this and everything we went through LAST winter, I can't help but wonder where Algore is. He's been strangely silent for the last couple of years and no one in the media -- not even Fox News -- has been able to get him to comment on this strange manifestation of "global warming". (Oh, excuse me, that's "global climate change" these days.)

Of course you have the lefty sycophants who echo the socialist party line that this extreme weather is proof positive that "climate change" is real. But anyone with a brain knows what a happy load of crap this is. Despite the lefty propaganda, there is actual scientific evidence that proves that the weather we are experiencing this winter is caused by events that are the exact OPPPOSITE of what the "global warming" lefties would have us believe. As difficult as this may be to understand, the sun -- which warms the earth -- is less active now and has been for the last few years. And -- SURPRISE -- an absence of activity on the surface of the sun manifests itself in cooler temperatures on earth.

Kind of funny how 35 years ago these same leftist nut cases were whining about the coming ice age. Their assertion back then was just the opposite -- that the dreaded gasses humans were generating as a result of their prosperity were going to shield us from the sun's rays and COOL the planet. Don't believe me: Look up Newsweek's 1975 cover about "The Coming Ice Age". Today the environazis are arguing the reverse of what they were arguing back when Algore was a pothead (who knows, maybe he still is). Which is it? I'd be eager to hear the former VP give a coherent answer to this one. But we all know how the lefty weasels are: These jackasses are entirely devoid of principle and will argue anything they think will help promote their anti-prosperity agenda.

The actual truth is this: These cycles have been happening since the dawn of time. It's just been in the last 50 years or so that folks like Algore have been trying to exploit them to advance their socialist agenda. It's time someone took the opportunity of winter of 2011 to find where he's hiding (probably in the palatial California mansion he purchased that will be underwater if his predictions about "climate change" come true), drag him out and ask him what he attributes Tulsa's unusual 18 inches of snow to.

FLORIDA JUDGE RULES OBAMACARE UNCONSTITUTIONAL

Judge Roger Vinson, a Florida federal judge, today ruled Obamacare is unconstitutional, restoring my faith that at least one judge has a firm grasp of what his job is -- to determine if laws passed by the legislative and judicial branches square with the U.S. Constitution. In looking at Obamacare, the only conclusion you could come to is that it doesn't and that is exactly what jusdge Vincent found, throwing out the whole thing on the basis that the individual mandate renders the whole stinking pile of garbage worthless:

Because the individual mandate is unconstitutional and not severable, the entire Act must be declared void.

This one sentence, on page 76 of the 78-page ruling sums up a well-written opinion that quotes from James Madison, the Federalist Papers, our Constitution and even The Messiah himself who at one time said he saw no need for the individual mandate then turned around and helped hi co-conspirators in the House and Senate construct a Rube Goldberg contraption of a law passed under the cover of darkness, that had as a key component the individual mandate that in the end helped kill the law.

The Kos Kooks and every other hard leftist, including some "Constitutional scholars" (But then The Messiah was sold to the masses on the basis that he was a "Constitutional scholar", wasn't he?) are going nuts over this ruling precisely because it is rock-solid and obviously wirtten by a mature, studious jurist as opposed to the sixth-grade intellects The Once but Fallen Messiah appointed to the highest court in the land.

It doesn't take a Constitutional scholar or a studious jurist to tell you that this law is no good (aside from the utter unconstitutionality of it): All it takes is a little common sense:

The Commie libs named this law the "Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act" and the rule of thumb that applies to every other commie-lib concieved law applies here: To figure out what a commie-lib law actually does, apply the exact opposite of what the name says. This law protects no patients and drives health care costs up for the majority to pay for health care for a few -- a few who are already covered by other social programs.
Repealing this law will "cost" $200+ billion dollars. More poppycock (or poopy cock as the case may be). You're going to commit to spending (conservatively) $1 trillion over ten years and somehow NOT spending that money will "cost"? How absurd is that?

The next step is for the U.S. Senate to provide another nail in the coffin of the ex-Messaih's crown jewel by voting with the House to repeal this horrendous monstrosity.

THE 21ST CENTURY RULE OF REPORTING: FIRST, YOU LIE

The primary rule of what passes for journalism these days appears to be: first, you lie.

This past weekend, the media showered shame upon itself by adhering rigidly to this rule, and to almost no rubric that could conceivably be considered “responsible reporting.” Even the “conservative” FoxNewsChannel--in the person of Geraldo Rivera unendingly blaming Sarah Palin for the actions of what we now know to be, in the opinion of the FBI director himself, a lone lunatic with a grudge against a specific member of Congress—toed the “Tea Party terror” line.

Within moments of the initial reports, “journalists” everywhere were speculating on the motivations of a suspect they yet knew nothing about. True to form, rather than simply go to Google and find out who the shooter was, what he thought about, what he himself considered the most important thing he could teach, they merely reached for the nearest and most recent template and slapped it over the event, neatly cutting away everything that didn’t fit—particularly the uncomfortable truth.

Once I had the name of the suspect, it was easy to find his deranged Youtube postings, stark texts addressing his reality-free musings, some visuals that immediately led away from—not toward—Tea Party culpability, and helpful sidebars telling us his favorite books included Mein Kampf and the Communist Manifesto. Moreover, the clearest thing about his rantings is that his obsession is with something he calls “conscience dreaming.” There is nothing political or ideological in his writings, but there is some discussion of “government,” “currency,” and the Constitution, which he says cannot be trusted because of “ratification.”

Though some have jumped on his talk of not accepting currency not backed by gold or silver and assigned him to some form of Ron Paulism, there is no “there” there. First, he states that “I will not trust in God,” indicating (along with his apparent outrage at having received a mini-Bible when he went to a military recruiting station) that he has no religious commitment or confidence in what we would consider to be “currency.” Second, his talk of “currency” is tied up in bizarre babblings about grammar and literacy, stating that the majority of people in the 8th district (that of both he and Congresswoman Giffords) are “illiterate,” indicating that he may have read some of the literature on information as currency and not understood it at all, fitting it instead into his paranoid mental illness and deeming the government an agent of “brainwashing” and deception.

Having seen the mind of the suspect myself, I looked back at the media, waiting in vain for someone to tell us about “conscience dreaming” and information as currency, to address the obvious fact that this was a 22-year old man with a textbook psychosis. Waiting with increasing impatience for someone to say what was evidently true: that he had practically stalked this Congress member since at least 2007, when he appeared at another “Congress on your corner” event to ask her a question. He did not like her response (perhaps because his question was rambling, incoherent and essentially meaningless to anyone who did not live in the shooter’s own head) and told his friend that he thought her “unintelligent.” Long before there was a Sarah Palin, a map with targets, a Tea Party—long before all of this, Jared Loughner had decided that Gabby Giffords was unworthy of her position in Congress.

Yet, all across the spectrum, politicians, pundits, reporters, and analysts one after another whined about “toning down the rhetoric,” implying that somehow political discourse could have caused this young man to buy a legal gun (passing the FBI background check with no problem, since he had never actually done anything violent before) and take it to the Safeway and shoot a member of Congress in the head to satisfy the voices in his own head, the “conscious dreams” he had deliberately cultivated.

Having studied both political violence and mass murder, I found the false connection more than curious. These were not fools making this unfounded link. These were people who should know better, people who should know what political violence is. Moreover, half the country should by now be able to recognize the signs of mental illness, the patterns of mass killing, given the ubiquity of books, television shows, and internet literature that explains it to us, both as real events and in fictional form. The two are not the same, and it doesn’t take a “political analyst” to know it.

Remind me, please, of how many mass murders have been (you’ll excuse the expression) “triggered” by “heated political rhetoric.” I don’t recall them. The mass murders with which I am familiar seem to be triggered by some event that has meaning only to the mind of the murderer. Their precipitating events are personal, not political. What prompted Charlie Whitman to climb the University of Texas tower and kill fourteen people after first murdering his mother and his wife? After years of emotional and mental disturbance, and after a series of personal failures, his self-control simply snapped. Whitman was troubled, certainly mentally ill, and he had actually described his fantasy of climbing the tower and shooting from it to a number of people, none of whom took him seriously (including a University psychiatrist.) He was not revved up by the political “climate” in Texas in 1966, whatever it may have been.

The largest mass murder in American history until 2007 was the massacre at Luby’s restaurant in Killeen, Texas, where George Jo Hennard, Jr., drove his truck through the glass window of the restaurant and began firing, eventually killing 23 people and wounding 20 more. He shouted “This is what Bell County has done to me!” though no one ever explained what he could have meant by that. While there may have been a political threat to him in his head from the county in which he lived, he was not motivated by some climate of “heated political rhetoric.”

The one instance liberals have to point to is the Oklahoma City bombing, which appears to have been the first time we find the suggestion that violence is the fault of talk radio. After Terry Nichols and Tim McVeigh blew up the Murrah Federal Building, President Clinton (never one to miss a chance to score a political point) essentially laid the blame at the feet of Rush Limbaugh and all of talk radio. Yet, inconveniently, there was never any evidence that McVeigh had listened to talk radio. His claimed reason for the systematic destruction of the federal building (which he embarked on only after discarding a plan to individually murder specific government officials) was outrage at the massacre of the Branch Davidian religious cult and the killing of Vicky Weaver at Ruby Ridge, Idaho, in 1992.

So now, once again, the media has run with the most attractive narrative—it’s all the fault of the Tea Party.

We can see why. After all, to those who have invested all their energy in a theory, everything must fit into it. The media’s most recent total enemy has been the hydra-headed monster of Sarah Palin and all those in the Tea Party movement. Any terrible thing that happens must be their fault. In this instance, we have an evil thing, a shooting. The victim is a Democrat (albeit a Democrat who has been a member of the Blue Dog coalition and who recently voted against the continuing leadership of Nancy Pelosi). All bad things come from the Tea Party, and the opponent of the Democratic Party is the Tea Party; therefore, this must have come from the Tea Party.

So the media immediately set about finding—not evidence for the template—but simply anyone who would say the words out loud, so that they could “report” them.

And the world of politics did not disappoint.

It was breathlessly noted that Sarah Palin had a map on her website that “targeted” this very Congresswoman’s district with a cross-hairs symbol as a district that Tea Partiers should try to win in the election. (Never mind that the Daily Kos did the same thing, to the same member of Congress (though for different reasons), only with a bullseye instead of cross-hairs. Makes all the difference.) The state of Arizona was painted as a place of high anxiety over immigration, and there was a period in the afternoon when media outlets mused aloud whether the shooter might have had something against immigrants. The notations in his Youtube video about people being “illiterate” were used to buttress this bogus notion.

The truths that the media have refused to tell are as follows:

From everything we can see, Jared Lee Loughner was seriously mentally ill. He had a long-standing grudge against Congresswoman Giffords. One of his favorite books was Mein Kampf, and Giffords was Jewish; we do not at this time know whether this matters. He smoked pot. He did not pass the drug test when he tried to join the military. He was thrown out of college because the administration felt he was dangerous and barred him from returning until he would be mentally evaluated, which he never was. He was 22 years old, the precise age when serious schizophrenia most often manifests itself. His thoughts are incoherent. His politics are, if anything, left of center, but nevertheless devoid of a serious ideology recognizable to a sane partisan of any stripe.

To those who want to know why such violence would erupt in Arizona, who are wondering whether it is the anti-immigrant sentiment that drives such violence, the answer to “why Arizona?” is in fact not complex. It was Arizona because that happens to be where this lunatic lived, just down the street from the Safeway. It was the place Gabby Giffords represents, and the lunatic didn’t like her. It was, quite simply, where the intersection of the perpetrator and the victim took place.

It could have been anywhere.

It could have been, for example, Pennsylvania. In Amish country. In the community of Nickle Mines, in 2006. Where Charles Carl Roberts IV took the lives of five Amish girls in the schoolhouse, after taking the entire school hostage (save those who frustrated him at the outset by successfully running away.) But Roberts acted without the propulsion of talk radio, without a “climate of hate,” without “heated political rhetoric.” Against the kindest, least inflammatory people in America, a crazy man who had never before hurt anyone chose to destroy his own life and those of children and families in a community he lived within (though he was not a member of the Order.) Because of his own internal monologue. Because of his own darkness.

Because of his own evil.

But the media does not recognize evil. And they only recognize mental illness when it fits their template, when someone kills American soldiers while shrieking “Allahu Akbar,” when they can use it to excuse deviance and destruction.

The Ft. Hood shooting, we were told (another event not motivated by the heated rhetoric of Sarah Palin and the Tea Party, by the way, but inconveniently perpetrated by a member of a faith the media seeks to protect) was an occasion to be careful, to reassess, not to jump to conclusions or blame any larger group. This, despite the fact that the shooter, Major Hassan (and as soon as the name was known to the media, the media held it back a while to be extra super sure not to inflame the passions of the public) was connected to terrorist networks, knew and corresponded with terrorists, evangelized a particularly anti-American form of Islam, and had evidently planned the event for a while. But he, the template told us, was not evil. And he was not a terrorist. He was a disturbed lone wolf and should be understood.

Now we know that the Arizona shooter had an occult shrine in his backyard, complete with a replica human skull. But he cannot be evil. He cannot be a member of a diverse religious community. He must be an angry white male, a Republican, a Tea Partier. Anything else is unacceptable. Because it is not usable for the purposes to which the media and the Administration are about to put it.

Which brings us to part two. After the lie, we come to the use of the lie.

Democratic strategist Mark Penn recently reminisced wistfully about the public support that came to President Clinton after the Oklahoma City bombing, opining that President Obama “needs” something similar to get the country back on his side.

Well, aren’t they lucky. Here it is. As Rahm Emanuel famously said, one shouldn’t let a good crisis go to waste.

After being beaten in the election, the power-grabbing party has been looking for a way to continue in their encroachment on the rights of the people. In the days to come, I have no doubt that they will bring back their drive to implement a “Fairness Doctrine” in an effort to control public political speech they don’t like. But this time, having a media that continues to link “bad” speech with conservatism and murder with “bad” speech, the Democrats in the Senate will be able to link the enforced balance they have been pushing with a censorship that they will deny is censorship.

To the contrary, they will argue, there are types of speech that we already regulate—libel and slander, advertising claims, and (though increasingly less enthusiastically) obscenity and pornography. One does not have, they will piously remind us, the right to shout “fire” in a crowded theater. (And, yes, they will no doubt forget that the original court ruling is that you may not falsely shout fire; if the theater is on fire, you may shout all you like.) On their high horses, they will tell us that neither has one the right to shout “you lie,” or “socialist” or “fascism” in a crowded political arena. Such language, they will insist, is inciting to riot, it pollutes the discourse, it endangers the republic—and it leads to murder.

Just as disapproval of personal behavior has become a form of “hate,” so, I believe, we will find that the words one uses to disapprove—or even merely to accurately describe the disreputable--will soon be deemed “hate speech.”

The other opportunity this affords the administration is to jump in quickly with a gun control bill of some kind, perhaps the very bill sponsored by Congressman Bobby Rush that has been languishing in the House during the last session, HR 45. (Trust me; it’s bad. Look it up.)

Once again, a tragedy will prompt government officials (especially those of a progressive and/or Democratic leaning) to attempt to regulate the world in ways that would never have had any effect on the tragedy that gets their attention.

More gun control would not have stopped this. Loughner broke few laws before he broke so many at once, and there are none possible that could revoke the Second Amendment rights of someone whose interactions with law enforcement had all been lawfully dismissed. None of his obviously lunatic ramblings were in a venue reachable by lawful investigations. It is unfortunate but unavoidable that we cannot pre-empt the non-violent mentally ill loner on his way to becoming a spree killer. It is not illegal to hold odd viewpoints, nor can it be in a free society. It is not illegal to subscribe to conspiracy theories, or to make others uncomfortable, or to have a strange personality. Were it so, there would not be enough jails or mental institutions to hold all the Americans that would deserve places in them.

Yet the proponents of the nanny state will no doubt try. And the media will obediently perpetuate the myth that tighter controls on everyone are needed to stop a few from violently obeying voices only they can hear, following paths of twisted logic only they can understand.

And, saddest of all, nothing they do will help anyone with mental illness stop himself from snapping. Nothing they do will make it possible to prevent an event that seems inevitable, because it will come at a time and a place no one but the spree killer can guess. And when it happens again, the media will once more reach for the most recent enemy, the most convenient scapegoat, the easiest lie to tell.

And the madmen will continue to appear from time to time, no matter what our “rhetoric” becomes, no matter how famous or ordinary the victims, no matter how many, how few, how old, or how young.

The media will find a story to tell, as truthful and trustworthy as the voices in Jared Lee Loughner’s head.

Motor Trend's Enviro-Wacko Idiocy: Chevy Volt Car of the Year

Yes. it cost twice as much as a similar vehicle and runs on premium gas. No, it's not a high-end BMW or Mercedes. It's the "electric" Chevy Volt and it's Motor Trend's 2011 car of the year.

Electric cars don't work, they've never worked and there's no electric car that proves this better than the Chevy Volt -- the "electric" car Motor Trend's editors are slobbering all over. "101 mph and 127 mpg" is what the headline on their car of the year issue is screaming this month. What a happy load of crap.

Did you think the Volt was actually an electric car? That's a perfectly understandable mistake. It isn't. What the Volt actually is is a gas car with an engine that runs a generator which charges a battery which powers the car rather than just using the gas engine to power the wheels. So it uses one source of energy -- gas -- to create another source of energy -- electricity. Perfectly idiotic and inefficient. Imagine the folks at Trek or some other bicycle manufacturer producing a bike where the pedals turn not a gear set that turns the rear wheel but instead powers a tiny generator hooked to a motor that powers the rear wheel and you have an idea of the idiocy of the Volt.

So the "electric" Volt is really a gas Volt (might as well call it the Fart). As far as the fuel efficiency of the Volt's gas motor goes, it's no more efficient than your typical sub-compact beater like the Chevy Aveo -- 37-42 mpg from what I've been able to gather. The BS about the "127 mpg" lies in the fact that Volt cheerleaders like MT dump the car's minuscule all-electric cruising range -- 25 - 50 miles, or less than 15% of it's total cruising range -- into the total mileage figures. The simple fact of the matter is that this car spends 85% or better of it's time running a gas motor that gets about 40 mpg. In other words, if you don't actually drive a Volt like most normal people drive their cars, the Volt is an "electric" car. But for a Volt buyer who actually has to get to work and back home, then get to the store, then get junior to basketball practice, then get back home again all in one day, the Volt is a gas car that is a highly sophisticated, better looking Chevy Aveo or Toyota Yaris for better than twice the price.

Did I say better than twice the price? Why yes I did. The 4-passenger Chevy Volt costs more than $40,000. Even with the government's $7500 welfare payment (I mean tax credit) it costs damn near $33,000. Gonna be a whole lot of families buying these, aren't there? Compare this to a typical minivan that comes loaded with a dual screen DVD system, dual zone automatic climate control, leather seats, a great sound system and a host of other amenities, and holds up to eight people for well under $40,000. Which is the more practical vehicle? Sure the minivan only gets about 20 mpg but try throwing six people and all their luggage into ONE Chevy Volt for a trip to grandma's house in Pasadena from out here in flyover country. Ain't gonna happen, bud. This kind of trip takes ONE minivan that gets about 25 mpg on the highway. It would take TWO Volts (minimum) at 42 mpg.Where's the savings there? And which is the more environmentally friendly of the two choices? Obviously the one that carries all the people and luggage on four tires with one gas tank and one motor. Which means that the impracticality of this "car of the year" reduces it to a novelty item for rich Hollywood types to drive as a testament to their enviro-Nazi bonafides. The same could be said for a bunch of slobbering enviro-nazi car editors -- the Volt is, in fact, a novelty item that a bunch of "car editors" on a pilgrimage to An Inconvenient Truth land can plaster on their battle flag to make enviro-Nazis think that all car magazine editors aren't evil incarnate.

And what of the dependability and durability of the Volt? It's pretty easy for a car magazine to flog the hell out of an "electric" car for a few days and pronounce it fit for duty. How's this thing going to hold up in 50,000 or 100,000 or even 150,000 miles? We already know that current hybrids require expensive battery replacements after 100,000 miles or less. We're talking five or six grand a pop -- more than what it costs to replace an internal combustion engine. And if you maintain your gas-powered car you can go for literally hundreds of thousands of miles without an engine rebuild or replacement. How well do you suppose a battery that is potentially in charge mode 85% of the time is going to hold up after years of use?

Verdict (as if you couldn't guess): The Volt is a moronic vehicle designed for morons. It's just the latest example of the idiocy of premature "green" technology that should have been stillborn (those wind turbines that require a fleet of trucks and an armada of pilot vehicles to get them to their destination are another). This type of dysfunctional technology (an "electric" car being powered indirectly by a gas engine, for God's sake) is a perfect example of what you get when the government mandates and incentivizes stupidity in the name of "saving the planet". Do you honestly think the Volt would stand a chance in a free marketplace -- without giving incentives to offset a huge chunk of the bloated cost? (By the way, did you know that the feds have orders in for tens of thousands of them? Nothing like the feds purchasing tens of thousands of these gas-fueled generators to skew the sales figures.) And while Motor Trend is heaping car of the year honors on this Rube Goldberg contraption that uses gas to power an engine that runs a generator that simultaneously recharges batteries and powers the car, the federal government is blocking nearly all attempts to boost our energy independence using the hundreds of billions of barrels of domestic oil and natural gas we are awash in. Meanwhile, our arch enemy China is buying up all the offshore oil leases it can get its hands on while our president places a seven-year moratorium on our own offshore oil drilling causing drilling rigs to take off for other parts of the world to extract oil for China and Venezuela and other enemy countries. Leading the charge in this crazy back-asswards scenario, you have a bunch of nuts at a car magazine championing a by-product of the politicians attempts to make us all victims of their stupidity. Sorry Motor Trend, I won't be buying your idiotic magazine anymore but maybe you'll be able to pick up a couple envirno-Nazi subscribers.

White House: Failure to Extended Unemployment Benefits will Cost Jobs

How many liberals does it take to come up with a coherent economic policy? I have the utmost sympathy for folks who are unemployed in this economy. But the simple fact of the matter is that many just aren't doing everything they can to find a job -- any job. Case in point, one poor woman -- a guest on a Fox Business program last night -- who was one of the 99ers -- she ran through 99 weeks of benefits. She said she had been to several temp agencies looking for work and had sent out dozens of resumes. As one of the regulars pointed out, this isn't good enough and proves the point that the longer you extend unemployment benefits, the easier it is to prolong a job search. You have to be ready to do ANYTHING you have to do to get a job -- any job. Not sit around looking for the perfect job while whining that even the temp services don't have anything for you. There are very few places in this country where you are going to find your "perfect" job. The Obama economy has seen to that. You have to get out there and take anything available -- and there are SOME jobs out there in most markets -- while looking for the job you want.

This is easy to say for someone who has a job, right? Get out there and try to find one and you'll see how hard it is. I'm not saying looking for a job is easy. In fact it's downright impossible in some areas of the country (mostly ones like Michigan or New York where liberals are exclusively in charge). But if I found myself out of a job, I'd take anything available while conducting a search. Work at night and search during the day. Work during the day and search at night. Do everything in your power to get SOME money coming in. Sitting around and moping about your lack of work becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy. Make your own job. Do something! You have to search for a job from day one as if it's the last day of your last week of your unemployment benefit period. Extending unemployment benefits makes it less likely -- not more likely -- people are going to be hungry enough to REALLY search for a job. To say that not extending unemployment benefits will create more unemployment is utterly moronic. But in this day and age, we just have to get used to having the morons in charge be the norm. And to say that Austan Goolsbee and his boss are morons is a vast understatement.

Big Lib Union Dropping Health Care for Kids

I know, I know -- what union isn't a big lib union? But as big lib unions go the Service Employees International Union (SEIU) is one of the biggest and lib-est. And Andy Stern, recent ex-president of the SEIU is a big Obama buddy. You'll recall that a year or so ago, the "most transparent administration" (at least in the last 22 months or so) released a visitor list that showed Stern most prolific visitor to the White House during the Administration of the Fallen Messiah. He also was a major strategist behind the ramrodding of vastly unpopular ObamaCare through the congress in the dark of the night. So one might consider it odd that a big Obama backer and ObamaCare pusher's union would be kicking member's kids out of their health care plan.

Why are they kicking kids out of their health care plan?:

The union blamed financial problems it said were caused by the state’s health department and new national health-insurance requirements.

In other words we're a bunch of hypocrites, we're admitting that ObamaCare is an utter failure even before it begins and it's going to cost us an arm and a leg.So screw the kids, let someone else (the taxpayer) pay for them.

18 ACORN Workers Convicted of Fraud

It's no coincidence that when you do a news search for ACORN these days, the top hits are mostly about tasty ways to prepare acorn squash. The last thing in the world the lapdog liberal media would want to do is to shine the spotlight on the evil doings of a crooked activist group with ties to their Messiah. Fortunately, there is Fox News to tell the story for us:

The scandal-plagued ACORN may no longer exist, but its tarnished legacy lives on in court, as the activist group and its former employees face criminal punishment.
So far this year, at least 18 former workers have admitted guilt or been convicted on varying charges of election fraud. The punishment has ranged from probation to several months of prison time.
ACORN, once a powerful advocate for low-income and minority voters, shuttered its operations amid plummeting revenues in March, six months after conservative activists posing as a pimp and prostitute caught on video some of the group's employees offering them tax advice.
But the group is still facing charges in Nevada on conspiracy to commit the crime of compensation for registration of voters.The trial, originally scheduled to begin Monday, has been postponed likely until next year.
Former workers across the country already are being punished for their criminal activities

Two things to wonder about in the wake of one of the biggest conservative election blow-outs in modern political history:

1. Would the lapdog liberal media be as silent about election fraud were there a scintilla of evidence that any was committed by conservative groups? Hell no! We'd be talking about it from 30 seconds after the election returns began coming in on November 2 until after the 2012 election when if God is smiling on us, Barack Obama will have his ass handed to him on a sliver platter. The fact that proves that there is no conservative voter fraud is that the liberal media isn't talking about voter fraud.

2. How many of the razor-thin wins for liberals would have been wins for conservatives had the liberals not engaged in massive voter fraud as they always do during every election cycle? I submit to you that Sharon Angle, Dino Rossi, Joe Miller and others would be senators-elect right now because liberals HAVE to cheat to win -- they can't win any other way.

The proof is in their actions:

1. The Obama injustice department refuses to prosecute clear voter intimidation caught on tape because it was committed by Black Panthers.

2. Liberals consistently oppose voter ID laws on the basis that voters will somehow be "disenfranchised". Who among us would be opposed to showing an ID at the polls?

3. Nearly all of the attempts to make it more "convenient" (like going to the polls on the appointed day to elect your leaders in the best country on the face of the earth is inconvenient) to vote are supported by liberals because they dramatically increase the opportunity for voter fraud. Many of these early voter initiatives are now so accepted that the associated fraud has been institutionalized into the process.

Consider Iowa's early voter process which allows people to go to the "polls" at libraries around the state and cast their ballots up to one month early. Somehow each and every one of those ballots has to be guarded all day and then make it to one centralized collection point on a daily basis.Most states now have similar processes. No opportunity for fraud there -- no, not at all. Isn't it funny how, when caught in close races, liberals always seem to "find" misplaced ballots that benefit them and result in scum like Al Franken pulling out close wins? Liberal wins brought to you by election fraud made possible by these types of initiatives.

Ever wonder why liberals are interested in bringing 12 million illegals "out of the shadows"? So they can escort them right "out of the shadows" and into the voting booth. I've witnessed the phenomenon of liberal groups trying to pressure people into allowing non-eligible voters to get to the polls to vote myself. If it happens out here in flyover country, imagine how bad it must be in states literally teeming with ineligible immigrants and outright illegal immigrants?While liberals are always interested in getting voting rights for legal and illegal aliens and felons, they never seem to be interested in making sure our fighting men and women overseas aren't "disenfranchised". The proof is in the fact that they have to vehemently deny that they want to purposely "disenfranchise" military voters while at the same time disenfranchising military voters. BTW, did we ever solve the issue of whether The Messiah's home state was going to be able to getting military voters their ballots in time? Probably not since service members vote overwhelmingly conservative.

Bottom line here is that these 18 ACORN crooks are just the tip of the iceberg. Bad, Bad North Korea

Don't you feel so much safer with a peacenick as president? Is the world a safer place with a U.S. president who genuflects to every tin-pan dictator? The answer to these questions are no and no which is exactly why North Korea is on the brink of re-firing the Korean war and we are left helplessly issuing "strong condemnations" and begging China to talk Kim Jong Il's punk kid and his rogue government into into backing down.

Not to belabor this point but elections have consequences and one of the direct consequences of the last presidential election -- as any common-sense conservative could have told you at the time -- is that we have become the laughing stock of the world.

In the last two years we have been treated to absurd images of a president of the United States of America bowing to Saudi kings, sitting politely through Daniel Ortega's rant against the Great Satan, offering an outstretched hand to the mental patient who heads the government of Iran, sputtering and stammering in protest as North Korea becomes increasingly belligerent and kills 50 South Korean sailors. And now, the pinnacle of our weakness -- the SECOND attack on South Korea by the tyrant to its north.

And truthfully, this isn't even the pinnacle of our weakness because North Korea is merely testing the waters at this point. Daddy got away with whatever he wanted to. Now the little boy is seeing how far he can push it. The answer, of course, will be as far as he damn well pleases. And he ain't done pushing. Now we're in the uncomfortable position of begging a what used to be a backwards third-world nation a mere 25 years ago to appeal its friends Kim Jong Il and his little boy to pretty-please stop bombing and killing people in the free, prosperous, democratic republic of South Korea. And it's kind of a fine line when that formerly backwards third world nation (which is quickly becoming an economic and military superpower) is propping up your profligate spending by buying hundreds of billions of dollars of your debt.

To any one who wants to persist in the bogus argument that we're safer with a "can't we all just get along" foreign policy, you're an utter fool -- just like the court jester on the world stage we unfortunately have to refer to as the president of the United States. "Net Neutralilty": Coming to an Internet Near You By Christmas

Yes, neutering conservative opinion on the Internet is something that the Obama FCC is intent on taking up before Christmas.

The Federal Communications Commission said Tuesday that it has postponed its December meeting by about one week to Dec. 21, sparking a flurry of speculation that the agency did so to prepare for a vote on net neutrality.

“An extra week will help us evaluate potential agenda items for December,” said Jen Howard, a spokeswoman for the FCC.

FCC Chairman Julius Genachowski is expected to introduce a proposal that would be under its questionable legal jurisdiction over broadband service providers, according to Stifel Nicholaus analyst Rebecca Arbogast. And the chairman is in the difficult position of now having to convince two Democratic commissioners who have pushed him to reassert authority over broadband services so he can implement rules against discrimination of content on Internet networks.

Analysts said the delay was probably created so Genachowski could garner support for a majority 3 to 2 vote on a final rule.

"We suspect the Democrats could ultimately support a Title I order, but they may seek some sort of concessions on this or other matters," Arbogast wrote in a research note Tuesday.

Let's not fool ourselves about what is going on here: We're not talking about fairness and "neutrality" any more than the "employee free choice" act is about employee free choice or "Social Security" is social security or the "Fairness Doctrine" is about fairness. Any time you have a liberal concept with a seemingly innocuous name (or a friendly-sounding name for that matter)it is always, without exception, cover for an evil concept. In this case, the evil concept is limiting conservative speech in the name of "fairness". Meanwhile, you're not going to hear anything about "neutralizing" the speech of George Soros-funded liberal hate groups because they practice the type of speech leftists like Obama approve of.

The simple fact of the matter is this: Liberals hate the fact that they can't succeed in the free market of ideas on talk radio and cable. The only reason why they succeed on the Internet is because leftist fat cats like Soros and others fund them. Who do you have to thank for this? Barack Obama and his Merry Band of Middle Class Robin Hoods -- robbing from the Middle Class to spread the wealth around. These are the folks who stubbornly refused to stop this tax increase even though The Messiah, Barack Obama, self-proclaimed Master of the Universe, has loudly proclaimed for months now that Americans who earn less than $200,000 a year "won't pay a penny more" in taxes. Have you heard Obama out there lately loudly proclaiming his commitment to keeping tax rates the same as they are now? Didn't think so. And so payroll managers all over the country are preparing to foist the massive tax increase brought to you courtesy of Barack Obama, Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi onto Middle Class paychecks come January 1, 2011. How massive? Check the chart.

Just for fun, let's check the chart together. Single and earning $40,000? Get ready to pay another $160 a month. Married with the same income? $140 a month extra. Maybe you earn a little more. Twice as much? Well, congratulations, buddy. You're rich and you surely should be able to afford that roughly $450 extra a month out of your check if you're married. But if you earn $80,000 a year and get divorced, your hit is about $160 a month LESS at that income. Why? Because at $80,000 a year (most of you will agree that this is hardly "rich") you're rich enough to get dinged by the vanishing correction that eliminated the marriage penalty. Yes that evil George Bush's tax cuts not only lowered income taxes for everyone, they eliminated a little quirk in the tax code that charged married couples a higher tax rate than single people above a certain income level. Another thing to keep in mind: If you're married, we're only talking about one of the incomes in a two-earner family. If your spouse earns roughly the same as you do a year, double your tax increase. Even if he or she earns less than you, they'll be taking a hit just like you will.

Multiple studies have shown that 70% of Middle Class households essentially live paycheck to paycheck, largely because of the horrendous tax burden they already bear. And middle class households make up the vast majority of American households. (Average per capita income $46,400 a year). Only you know your family's income and financial picture, but take a look at the chart and consider this. What do you provide for your family for $170 a month or $200 a month or $450 a month that you will have to do without in order to pay your new higher tax bill brought to you courtesy of Barack Obama, Harry Reid, Nancy Pelosi and the rest of the Democrats.

If you love your liberty and your income, pass this on. If you don't need that extra $160, $180 or $450 a month, go ahead and vote Democrat. They'll love to spend that extra cash you don't need.

In August 2004, American troops were able to buy containers from locals of what they thought was liquid sulfur mustard, a blister agent, the documents revealed. The chemicals were triple-sealed and taken to a secure site.
Also in 2004, troops discovered a chemical lab in a house in Fallujah during a battle with insurgents. A chemical cache was also found in the city.

And hold on to your hats everyone making $250,000 or less annually, your taxes are taking a huge jump and there's nothing congress can do about it. These leftist cowards are too late. So beginning January 1st, your taxes ARE going up no matter what they decide to do. Yes, even yours busboy making $20,000 a year. In fact, here's what the Associated Press has to say about the average middle class family:

A typical family of four with a household income of $50,000 a year would have to pay $2,900 more in taxes in 2011, according to a new analysis by Deloitte Tax LLP, a tax consulting firm. The same family making $100,000 a year would see its taxes rise by $4,500.
Wealthier families face even bigger tax hikes. A family of four making $500,000 a year would pay $10,800 more in taxes. The same family making $1 million a year would get a tax increase of $53,200.
The estimates are based on total household income, including wages, capital gains and qualified dividends. The estimated tax bills take into account typical deductions at each income level.
Democrats have been arguing for much of the past decade that tax cuts enacted in 2001 and 2003 under former President George W. Bush provided a windfall for the wealthy. Those tax cuts expire at the end of the year, setting the stage for a high-stakes debate just before congressional elections in November.

What was it that our Liar In Chief has said roughly a million times during the entire fraudulent 2008 election campaign and right through nearly two years of his miserable presidential term? If you make less than $200,000 (or was that $250,000 or $150,000) a year your taxes won't go up a penny? Great, The Fallen Messiah will swoop in to save the day! If cowardly congressman won't stop tax hikes, the great post-partisan president will, won't he? After all, he promised! And the financial well-being of tens of millions of middle class families is certainly more important than the "rights" of a relative handful of rogue military personnel who have an uncontrollable urge to stand up and publicly declare their affection for anal sex -- something Obama also promised to defend.

It is to laugh. Protecting public declarations of an affinity for anal sex is something Obama actually cares about. Pretending to care about the cares and concerns of the average middle class peasant -- namely jobs and tax cuts -- is just something he HAD to do to get elected. Anybody who actually thinks he cares about tax cuts is probably gullible enough to vote for him for president again and recent polls show that this group is shrinking by the hour. In other words, the Left's Fallen (and Falling) Messiah cares more about anal sex than tax cuts. After all, you hear him out there nearly every day reinforcing his support of open sodomy in the military. But when have you ever heard him weigh in on preventing the looming tax hikes for the middle class? I guess a president has to have his priorities and we know where this president's priorities are.

When it comes to tax cuts actions speak louder than words. Do Obama's actions over the past couple of weeks indicate that he's fighting hard for tax cuts for the "middle class"? They don't and he won't. Because the president who developed his ideology at the knee of his mentor Frank Marshall Davis the communist, doesn't care that everyone is going to get their taxes raised. In fact, that's the way Mr. "everyone's best if we spread the wealth around" likes it. If he can't exclude "the rich" from tax cuts, he doesn't care to give anyone a tax cut. And according to the amount my taxes will be going up, I must be "rich".

But I'm not rich and anyone with a family income in the range the AP listed who has a couple of kids and a house in the 'burbs can tell you that it takes every penny of that money to provide your family a decent lifestyle. And now anywhere from $2,900 to $4,500 a year more of that money is going to feed the beast. What is the typically middle class family going to have to give up or cut back on to make this payment to fund the Obama/Reid/Pelosi largess? Well, $2,900 a year might be a modest car payment on a used car. Too bad for the used car salesman who could've had a sale. $2,900 a year might be the average amount a middle class family gives to their church. $2900 to $4500 is about the cost of a decent vacation for a family of four. This money, spent in any one of millions ways ripples it's way through the economy impacting numerous businesses, jobs and people. Now take $2,900 to $4,500 times tens of millions of households and consider the impact of taking that money out of the economy to feed that out of control beast called the federal government -- an entity that produces nothing and wastes hundreds of billions of dollars every year.

"Spreading the wealth around" is what it's all about, in the final analysis and screw the middle class if their lifestyle is reduced because this is the Marxist's way. Fifty-two (and change) percent of voters were so captivated by the media phenomenon that was Barack Obama during the 2008 campaign -- so captivated that they conveniently forgot (if it ever even registered) that this guy in his words and deeds is a Marxist who has demonstrated his contempt for our capitalist system and the individual prosperity it creates and continues to do so on a daily basis. So it should come as no surprise that Dear Leader Chairman Maobama (as Mike Church likes to call him) says nary a word about the fact that you and I are going to be getting hit with huge tax increases at the beginning of the year. He never cared about tax cuts, so blaming this in congress is a convenient way to deflect the blame. "Not raising taxes" was just another of the manifold lies the Liar in Chief told to get elected. Hope you weren't planning on buying a modest used car, making a minor home improvement or taking a family vacation next year, because Barack "Karl Marx" Obama is going to be doing a little "wealth spreading" with your cash next year. Home Foreclosures: Cutting Through the Crap

A lot has been made over the past few days about the revelation that "flaws in paperwork" have caused Bank of America and other banks to halt home foreclosures. Let's cut the crap here and answer the question who does this help?

The mortgage lender (usually a bank)? How does it help the bank to continue to have to hold a depreciating asset they don't even want longer than they would ordinarily have to? This action is going to keep more properties vacant and tied up in foreclosure proceedings even longer.

The "homeowner"? What homeowner? I can call myself a homeowner -- answer that question "do you own your own home or rent?" by saying I own my own home, I can pay outrageous taxes to the county every six months, anyone anywhere in the world can find my little slice of the American dream in my name on my county assessor's web page and know exactly how much it is worth. But the simple fact of the matter is that I'm not an actual homeowner until I hold a free and clear deed in my hand. Until then, I'm just a debtor to a bank that holds majority interest in the home I live in -- majority interest because if I miss any of those payments (including the last one) for a period of time, they can come in and reclaim their property and resell it to someone who is presumably more capable than I am of paying the monthly mortgage. That's the way it has always worked until the last couple of years or so when we've decided that it was necessary to turn this relationship on it's head and deprive the mortgage lender of their ability to recover their money from the deadbeat without be portrayed as a heel.

Did I say deadbeat? Yes, I did. We all acknowledge that there are a certain percentage of home buyers in foreclosure right now who are truly hard up. Thanks to the Obama Administration and its minions in both houses of congress, this percentage is a lot higher than it normally is. But the majority of Americans (and others -- legal aliens, illegal aliens etc.) who find themselves in mortgage trouble knew they couldn't afford the house they were buying in the first place and simply just weren't honest with themselves about their financial situation. Sure, there were banks out there offering "interest only" mortgages where you pay $250 a month on a $300,000 home then refinance after five years. But at some point the bill comes due and it's the responsibility of the borrower to realize that. It's not the evil lender who covered up the fact that you can't really buy a $300,000 house for $250 a month, it's the idiot who convinced himself (or herself) that they could afford it when the $250 a month payment went up by 800% in five years. Liberals like to portray this person and folks who can't afford their house payment on top of the two car payments, the boat payment the RV payment and $50,000 worth of credit card debt as "victims". If these folks are victims of anything they are victims of their own stupidity and their utter inability to be honest with themselves about their financial situation.

But there are "flaws in the paperwork". So what. In this mortgage lender/deadbeat relationship there is only one thing that matters: Is the deadbeat several month's behind in payments and is there any possibility that they are going to be able to get their mortgage current in the foreseeable future. If the answers to these questions respectively are yes and no, then the best option for everyone is to foreclose on the house. This gets the "home owner" out from under a house they can't afford and allows the mortgage lender to attempt to recover their debt by reselling the house to someone who can actually afford it.

But the rest of us benefit from this benevolence, don't we? After all even though we are current on our house payments and have a reasonable expectation that we will be for the foreseeable future, there but for the grace of God go I. If we're ever in situation where we can't pay our mortgage, we'd want the lender work with us as well right? Truthfully and as painful as it might be, if I ever find myself unable to make my mortgage payment month after month I -- as is the case with anyone else who finds themselves in this situation -- would be a whole lot better off to try to unload the house and either downsize into something I can afford or go back to being a renter than to struggle on month after month trying to make a payment I have no realistic expectation of ever being able to make. Contrary to what everyone has apparently come to expect over the last 30 years or so, falling on hard times doesn't make you a "victim". However painful it may be, it's a part of the American experience. Living in the greatest country God gave man doesn't doesn't give you an automatic entitlement to onward and upward prosperity and it doesn't guarantee that nothing bad will ever happen to you. All you are guaranteed in this country is your freedom and liberty -- "victim" status and a death grip on a house you can't afford shouldn't be a part of the bargain. Unfortunately, entitlement seems to be becoming more and more a part of the American experience these days. And that's a bad thing.

Attorney General Moonbeam's Phone Troubles

Jerry "Governor Moonbeam" Brown has lived 72 years, served two terms as governor of California,was mayor of Oakland for years, has been California Attorney General for three years now, and after all this, he apparently never learned how to hang up a phone. No wonder everything this guy touches turns to crap. Perhaps its all the alleged drug use. If Californians elect this guy governor, they deserve everything they get. Yes, it'll be time to cut the state loose and let it float over to China.

But let's hope the fine citizens of the state of California have more sense than this. Meg Whitman is no conservative, but she knows how to run a company and California needs someone who's been responsible for the bottom line of a private company and been successful at it to turn their financial mess around. Chris Christy she ain't, but she's a hell of a lot better than their alternative.

Which brings us back to Governor Moonbeam, the guy who is chiefly responsible for the mess California is in today having set the stage for it better than 30 years ago. Because this idiot doesn't know how to use a phone, Whitman has a gift in the form of the Brown camp calling her a "whore" that should help take the focus off the trumped up illegal housekeeper scandal thrown at her by rabid commie lib Gloria Allred. Unlike this apparent set-up of Meg Whitman and Allred's sacrificing an illegal alien on the altar of the prospect of another gubernatorial term for her buddy Jerry, the Brown camp can't even remotely connect Whitman's campaign to "whoregate". Unless, of course, Governor Moonbeam is going to claim that Meg's campaign forced him to forget how to hang up the phone, then compounded the problem by forcing his aid to call Whitman a whore.

If Brown can call lie about Whitman and call her a whore I can tell the truth about Brown and call him a dumbass. Let's all hope this scandal torpedoes dumbass Jerry "Governor Moonbeam" Brown's campaign. As I said before, if they elect him governor, flush the whole state -- it's done.

The Obamacare Nightmare Continues ...

And will continue to until the whole thing is repealed. But the next shoe to drop is the waivers. In other words, we know everyone's pissed off about this so issue temporary waivers that expire a year before Obama's re-election bid so that the segment of the public that has the collective attention span of a flea will forget about this before November 2012.
This is simple and exactly as us conservatives predicted: Obamacare (or Hillarycare -- remember they tried this back in 1993 and I still have the glossy bound 1300+ page plan to prove it -- or any other form of socialized medicine) is an unconstitutional intrusion on our liberties that will bankrupt the country and ruin the best health care system in the world. Obama knows this and only cares about it right now because it is a prime reason his party's chances of keeping their majority in the House (and maybe the Senate) are in the crapper. So he grants waivers of the inevitable -- the bankrupting of health insurers and major corporations as they struggle to cope with the mandates. All this serves to do is briefly postpone the total dependence and despair that is the goal of Obama's brand of Fabian Socialism. If he thought he could get by with it and the Democrats weren't staring one of the worst congressional defeats in better than 100 years square in the face there would be no waivers -- save the ones for the unions because they are his buddies.

And of course another thing us conservatives have been saying since before this jackass (in the interest of proper attribution, I have to credit Rush Limbaugh for popularizing this moniker for The Fallen Messiah) was elected president is that nothing that he and the super majority he has in both houses do will do anything to improve the economy. Obamacare, Obama cap and tax, Obama tax increases: They all add up to economic uncertainty that crushes entrepreneurship and creates an environment where businesses don't want to hire because they don't know what other Hugo Chavez-like mandate may come down from Hugo's protege that will tighten the "boot on their necks" to paraphrase an Obama Administration official. We won't have positive job growth unless and until we throw these bums out on their asses.

James Jones ain't a rat by any stretch of the imagination. He's an honorable Marine who served in Vietnam and put in 40 years in service to our country. One can only surmise that the reason why he stuck around the Obama Administration as long as he did was because of his great love of country and wanting to do everything he could for the folks who give it their all to defend our liberty ever day. But apparently, he's had enough. Jones is leaving his job as national security adviser leaving the job to a Democrat political hack who hates the military. Just the person to be advising the president of the United States on all matters of national security. But since The Former Messiah shares Tom Donilon's hatred for the military, they'll both be in good company. Too bad the rest of us that depend on a secure nation won't be.

Jones follows a weasel, a hog, and what could only be described as a tired rat-looking creature - both of the latter who profess to be "economists" (using the term loosely) out the door.

Conservatives Predicted It: Obamacare Already is Causing Higher Costs and Less Choice

I hate to say I told you so but ....

Perhaps the most blatant lie of the entire Obamacare scam was this:

"If you like your health plan, you can keep it, the only thing that will change is that you’ll pay less.”

You'll recall this line, uttered by the Liberty Terrorist who is the president of the United States during a weekly radio address in July of 2009 and repeated hundreds of times by The Messiah himself and various administration flunkies over the course of this whole Obamacare debacle. Where is the leftist media now that Obamacare has predictably begun to unravel the best health care system in the world? Now that we have proof positive that all the assertions they made about health care availability, portability, ease of access and cost are proving to be lies?

What am I talking about? Well in general I'm talking about the dozens of stories we've heard over the past couple of weeks about how health insurers are gearing up to meet Obamacare mandates -- raising premiums in anticipation of increased costs, scaling down plans and in some cases, dropping plans all together.

Take the 1500 employees of the health care division of Principal Financial Group in Des Moines Iowa, for example. You see, Principal Financial Group is a minor player in the health insurance business and they've seen the writing on the wall. They realize that complying with the Obamacare mandates is going to bankrupt them so they are getting out of the health insurance business. And not only won't these 1500 employees be able to keep the health plan they like, they won't be able to keep the jobs they presumably like. At the end of the year, they are out of work. Principal has sold their health business to a bigger player -- United Health Care. Their business is health care and they really have no choice: If they are to stay in business they have to try to make it under the Obamacare mandates.

The loss of 1500 jobs as a direct result of Obamacare is tragic. These are just the first wave of tens of thousands more. But what of the tens of thousands of people covered by a Principal health care plan? My family is included in this group. We're happy with our health insurance plan, but we're not going to be able to keep it. And our premiums sure as hell aren't going down (name me one person who HAS seen their premiums go down). In fact, my family and thousands of others don't know exactly what our health insurance will look like after the first of the year.

There are obvious economies of scale when your company owns its own health care plan. Those are going away at the first of the year when Principal goes out of the health care business. United Health Care has some great plans. Years ago I administered one for my employer. But you can bet that any plan Principal Financial Group has to buy for its employees is going to cost it more than one it owns as a self-funded plan. So tens of thousands -- perhaps hundreds of thousands -- of Principal employees, their dependents and other Americans covered by Principal health plans sit and wait to find out what their health insurance will look like at the beginning of the year. So much for "If you like your health plan, you can keep it, the only thing that will change is that you’ll pay less.” But then, those of us who have been using our critical thinking skills already knew from well before they shoved this sham "universal health care" bill through in the dark of the night that like everything else that is liberalism, it was a blatant lie.

Principal isn't the only one dropping their health care plans. Word came out Friday that McDonald's - perhaps the most vilified company in the U.S. besides Wal Mart - may have to drop their health insurance plans as well.

And in fact, this is the ultimate goal of Obamacare. All of the predictions us conservatives have made about Obamacare have been proven true thusfar:

1. Obama said you'd be able to keep your health insurance if you like it. That's been proven a lie.Tell the folks covered by Principal Midland's Choice and other Principal plans that "you'll be able to keep it".
2. Obama said your health insurance will cost you less. That's been proven a lie. Health care costs are actually going up. Just ask the Congressional Budget Office.
3. Obama said people won't lose coverage due to this unconstitutional government mandate. That's a lie.
4. Obama said Obamacare will increase access to health care. That's a lie.

Here's another thing that will be proven true over the next few years if we're not able to reverse all or some of Obamacare: By 2014, as is the goal of the legislation, most health insurers will be out of business. Their plans will be replaced by something of a government/business hybrid through the last health insurer standing which will probably be some form of a huge Blue Cross conglomerate in partnership with Big Brother. At that point, we'll have the nightmare us conservatives have warned you about -- the same crappy health care Great Britain has only worse. We hate to say we told you so but ....

Obama Gets An Earful From A "Rich" Guy

The Fallen Messiah came to a "middle class" home in Iowa the other day. As has been increasingly the case in this campaign season, he's finding that the "hope and change" message of two years ago doesn't play in Peoria very well any more considering the change is exactly the opposite of what the Former Messiah promised. If it don't play in Peoria anymore, it sure as hell don't play in Des Moines. Des Moines is where David Greenspon has owned and run a small business for the last thirty years. He's worked his ass off to make a good living for himself and provide employment for dozens of people. And he had a few words for the Exalted Ex-Messiah -- a guy who wouldn't know how to create a job if it walked up and bit him on the ass:

What was Obama's response to hearing what actually creates jobs from a man who has spent the past thirty years busting his ass every day to create them? If you watched the above video, you know: He didn't want to hear it. He flat cut David Greenspon, owner of Competitive Edge in Des Moines, Iowa, employer of 100 people, off. This pompous jackass who hasn't created a job in his entire life -- the man who has devoted the majority of his 49 years to whining and complaining about people who DO create jobs -- is so committed to his rigid leftist tax and spend ideology that advice from a real person who has actually created jobs just doesn't register with him. It does not compute.

If you listen to Greenspon's story, as he told it in numerous interviews after his close encounter with the Chicago Marxist who unfortunately occupies the White House, it's not a whole lot different than the millions of other small businesspeople who create 80% of the jobs in this country. He started his business nearly 30 years ago when he was in his mid-20s. It was probably just him and a couple of other people at first. Eventually it grew to employ 100 people -- 100 people who are able to provide a home for their families and put food on the table because back in his mid-20s Greenspon put everything on the line for his dream.

As Greenspon pointed out to The Anointed One, just because a small business person may carry $1 million in inventory, several hundred thousand in accounts receivables and posses several million in property and equipment does not mean that person is a "millionaire". As Greenspon pointed out, he doesn't take money out of his business. He has paid himself the same salary for 10 years and plows the profits back in to the business to grow it. Yet, he is one of the people that The Anointed One and the Vice Buffoon say they "can't afford" to give $100,000 (in Greenspon's case, probably less) to. Never mind the fact that they aren't giving Greenspon or any other small business person anything and these folks aren't asking for anything. All they want is to be able to keep THEIR money -- money they rightfully earned -- so they can keep growing their businesses, employing more people, growing the economy and reducing unemployment.

Capitalism, what a concept. A concept that is completely lost on the Marxist, Socialists and assorted Communists now in charge of the executive branch and both houses of congress.

In Praise of Christine O'Donnell

I knew I had seen her somewhere.

When I heard her name as the longshot Tea Party candidate from Delaware, I thought it was familiar, but I just couldn't place who she might be. Then, when I saw her picture, it became clear--and happily so.

Listen up, conservatives. If you don't vote for this woman to go to the Senate, you might as well tear up your membership card. Christine O'Donnell is the real deal--a true-blue, traditional values, strong defense, minimal government Reagan Republican. She is the change you've been waiting for, as the President might say of almost anyone else. And Bill Maher can prove it.

O'Donnell did 22 episodes of "Politically Incorrect" in the politically radioactive 90s, the era of impeachment, when all of politics seemed to be personal destruction. She went toe to toe with rabid liberals, celebrities three times her Q-rating, and Maher himself. Right now, she has more television time under her belt--and certainly more debate practice--than most sitting Senators have by the end of their first term.

What's more, she never gives up, and she never compromises a principle to get along. The clip that's caused the current kerfuffle is a perfect example. In all the breathless media hysteria shrieking about whether she was a witch, whether that's forgivable, and whether the Tea Party troglodytes will recoil in primitive horror and burn her at the stake--the entire context of her remarks has been ignored.

First, here's the clip:

Let's start with Point One: what is she doing there? Answer: Christine O'Donnell is on Maher's show as the Founder and President of The S.A.L.T.--the Savior's Alliance for Lifting the Truth. Focus, now. She's the head of a Christian ministry--not a witch.

Point Two: What are they talking about? Answer: It is the end of October. The discussion is about Halloween. Maher wants to use her as his Christian pinata so he can accuse believers of intolerance and stupidity because of their skittishness about the Wiccan holiday and other occult things. But O'Donnell won't let the group get away with it. She stands up for the proposition that there are real witches, and messing around in the occult can be a real bad idea. To the howls of derision from panel and audience, she gives what we call her "testimony"--that she knows whereof she speaks because she "dabbled into witchcraft." It is an endearing moment, one of many in which Maher solicits her fundamentalist input, knowing she will say things that shock his over-tolerant relativist audience's sensibilities, and she does. (Just FYI, another great moment is when she tells "psychic" James Van Praagh--in the sweetest yet firmest way possible--that he is "deceived.")

Point Three: Since she is a religious leader at the time, why don't we read in history of the great occult scandal of Christine O'Donnell? Answer: Because there's nothing the least bit alarming about it, then or now. Christians of the "SALT" variety live for this kind of confession. The Christian world is full of "used to be's"--"I used to be a drug addict," "I used to be a prostitute," "I used to be a thief." The Apostle Paul is perhaps the most famous "used to be" of all, having persecuted and killed the followers of the One he became one of the greatest servants of. This does not tarnish her Christian credentials--it polishes them.

I recently went looking for more clips of Christine and found an amazing bit of history. I really do have to hand it to Maher; he has quite an instinct for future celebrity. This is a P.I. clip on youtube with Maher chatting up Christine, Star Parker (currently running for Congress in California,) and future Senator Al Franken. (Rick Schroeder is there,too, but please don't give him any ideas.) They're talking about sex education (warning: this clip is ten minutes long):

The point here is that future Senator O'Donnell is not a media dunce that can't figure out the value of doing Sunday morning chat shows. She is, instead, a savvy political observer with a deep understanding that the kinds of people she needs to show her face to don't watch chat shows on Sunday. They go to the church picnic.

If you want a staunch defender of conservatism, you won't find one more sincere, or more adept. She can best a bearded Marxist in debate any day. She knows the issues, the arguments, and the right and wrong of both. She believes in things not because they are expedient, but because they are true. She will go to the Senate for the people of Delaware, and the entire nation will be the better for it.

P.S.: Send Star Parker to the House for good measure.

Scott Brown Wins in Massachusetts

I'm going to go way out on a limb here and say -- with 63% of the vote in and Scott Brown leading Martha Coakley 53% to 46% -- that Scott Brown will win the people's U.S. Senate seat in Massachusetts.

Ole' Teddy Kennedy has to be spinning in his fresh grave right about now. The unthinkable occurred: A Republican won the seat he held for better than 45 years. And on the first anniversary of the beginning of the worst presidency in recent history (yes even including Clinton's AND Carter's).

Watch Democrats and the White House spin furiously over the next couple of days claiming that this sound whippin' (FoxNews is now reporting that the AP is declaring Brown the winner and Coakley has conceded) has nothing to do with the agenda of the incredible shrinking presidency in general and/or Obamacare in particular. They will say -- as the late Peter Jennings during one of the conservative landslides he didn't particularly approve of -- that the voters threw a "temper tantrum" But we know this spin is a damnable lie. This victory of a Republican (even if quasi-conservative) in the most blue of blue states is a complete and total repudiation of the Statist Obama/Reid/Pesosi agenda.

Of course this doesn't mean that Obamacare is dead. Not in the slightest. But the best way to assure that Obamacare doesn't become law is to find your favorite news story about the Brown victory, copy and paste the first couple of paragraphs -- the ones that mention Brown's overwhelming victory -- and fax or email them to every single Democrat in the U.S. Senate with a polite reminder that if this can happen in the bluest of blues states, it can happen in their state and their jobs are on the line if they continue to support Obamacare. Now get typing!

The "It" at Commerce

Some (perhaps even some conservatives) might consider this commentary offensive. But I assure you it is far less offensive than Barack Obama's expectation that we take seriously the absurdity that apparently is Amanda Simpson, the first "trans-gender" presidential appointee at the Commerce Department.

The whole notion of a "trans-gender" person is absurd on its face. It isn't possible to change genders. God made you the gender you are and the most skilled surgeon in the world can't change the gender of God's creation. The sole result of an addadicktomy or a chopadickoffomy (Rush's Limbaugh's terms) is nothing more than genital mutilation that renders the subject a eunuch or neuter -- in essence an "it". So what you have in the case of "Amanda" Simpson is an exhibitionist who celebrates "its" genital mutilation above and beyond everything else and, along with God knows how many other "its" in this country, stands up and demands that we do the same or be labeled "homophobes" when what we actually represent is the rational side of this "through the looking glass" debate. Rational folks understand that people who possess an overwhelming desire to have their genitalia surgically mutilated and "express" their gender as the opposite of the gender God gave them need psychological help -- not celebration for their presidential appointment to the Commerce Department.

Twenty years ago, the revelation that there were actually people out there who wish us to take seriously their desire to have their sex organs mutilated and live their lives as the opposite sex would have been greeted with the appropriate guffaws. So absurdly PC have we become in 2010 that the common sense notion that people shouldn't have their genitalia mutilated (even voluntarily) and "express themselves" as a sex opposite of the sex God gave them is considered bigoted. What's more, the push is on (and "Amanda" is at the forefront of this push) to codify mandatory acceptance of this odd form of sexually deviant mental disorder into equal opportunity laws.

Remember the Romans? Their civilization was brought to its knees and eventually destroyed from the inside out by the acceptance of the very types of deviance that we are being asked to accept in this country. Let's hope we don't face the same fate.

Rush Limbaugh Okay: No Heart Problems Found

Rush Limbaugh just concluded a press conference in Honolulu, Hawaii at the hospital where he was admitted for chest pains Wednesday and said that although the doctors couldn't pinpoint the cause of his chest pain, he had a thorough evaluation of his cardiovascular system and everything is perfectly okay.

Speaking on Fox News today, Rush made the point that he was the recipient of the best health care in the world -- American health care -- from the best doctors in the world -- American doctors -- and it had absolutely nothing to do with his fame or wealth. This is the health care that everyone in this country has access to regardless of age, income, status or race, something I can personally attest to because I had a lot of experience with the American health care system in 2009 thousands of miles and an ocean away from Hawaii right here in flyover country USA. Contrast this immediate, superb care we receive here with the waiting lists, triage in ambulances and NICE death panels that exist in the health care systems we are rushing headlong towards emulating.

You folks who support this ridiculous national health care monstrosity have no idea what you are getting us into.

Predictions for The Messiah's Second Year

Happy New Year everyone!

2010 begins year two of life with radical leftists having a choke hold on the executive AND legislative branches in Washington D.C. With the vapid Nancy Pelosi, the doddering old fool Harry Reid and Alinsky protege The Messiah drunk with power, 2010 should provide us with more "interesting times" than even 2009 did, especially considering the damage these idiots can do with an additional 21 days in their reign of terror. So as I sit here sipping my recently thawed celebratory beer (it was out on the deck and the thermometer on the wall tells me that the temperature out there is within .1 degree of dropping below zero) and eating the chocolate-coated caramel corn which won;t be a part of the 2010 diet, I'd like to offer some reflections and predictions about life under leftist tyranny in 2010.

First of all, I predict that Rush Limbaugh will fully recover from whatever has been ailing him for the last day or so. He's too tough after better than 21 years of relentless attacks by the leftists to succumb to a simple thing like whatever caused his chest pain. We're all praying for Rush's speedy recovery. We can't lose the premier conservative voice on the radio at a time when we need him most.

Secondly, as Rush is fond of saying living your American dream, damn whatever the leftists are doing to the country, is the best way to get back at these fools. Whatever they do, they can't dampen the spirit of rugged individualism. Just keep living your American dream to the best of your ability, and work hard to assure that the leftists that are presently making so much mischief will be booted out on their sorry asses the next time they are up for re-election.

Which brings me to my second prediction: Liberals will lose big in November 2010 -- maybe even big enough for Republicans to regain control of the House and perhaps even the Senate. But this won't just happen by osmosis. It's going to mean a lot of hard work on all of our parts.

Speaking of which, my third prediction: The folder containing the 150-odd letters I've faxed to every politician I thought I might be able to influence will at least double and perhaps triple in the next year and my MyFax bill will consistently run over it's "sent page" limit as it did nearly every month last year. Not only that, but I will soon be busy sending hundreds of emails to state politicians to implore them not to wreck our state in many of the same ways they tried to wreck it last year but ended up tabling because of the outpouring of Iowans imploring them NOT to do such idiotic things as removing Iowan's right to work rights and empowering unions, changing the best worker's comp system in the country, removing state deductibility for federal taxes paid and using every penny of state bonding authority to piss down a rat hole on all the worthless BS our worthless governor and representatives want to piss it away on. I agree: It shouldn't be this hard to be a citizen in the freest, strongest and best country on the face of the earth. But thanks to a majority of folks who insert their heads in their asses immediately before entering the voting booth, it is. The conservative mindset tends to be that government needs to leave me alone to live my life and I'll be just fine. The problem now is that a government comprised of radical leftists will continue to get in our faces and molest us and bother us unless we stand up and make our opinions known first and second, throw them out on their asses. Our very liberty and the future prosperity of ourselves, our children and grandchildren depend on it.

My next prediction: Nationwide unemployment will be little improved from the current reported 10% or actual 17-18% and The Messiah will still be holding worthless town hall meetings and "job summits" and blaming "the mess I inherited" in other words Bush despite the fact that unemployment was less than 8% when Bush left office. I also predict that as the unemployment number continues its gradual climb, so will The Messiah's poll numbers continue their gradual slide. You can only blame Bush for so long because most of us are too smart to fall for that ruse.

As far as health care goes, the Democrats will probably get something passed, but I predict a massive outpouring of protest that will morph into civil disobedience and court challenges as the full realization of what this attack on liberty will cost us in terms of liberty, taxes and access to the quality of care we were used to under the current system.

My next prediction: Joe Biden will be as stupid in 2010 as he was in 2009 and will continue to widen the lead he has on Algore for the absolute stupidest Vice President in recent American history. Both of these guys prove, along with Ted Kennedy that if you are too stupid or too drunk (yes, this rule of thumb also applies to Max Baucus) to do anything else, you can at least be a liberal U.S. Senator or leftist vice president or both. And you can also parlay a modest fortune into a huge one by pushing the global warming lie while living in a 12.000-ft energy hog of a mansion -- no brains required. Only an uncanny ability to look into the camera and tell audacious lies about Polar Bears.

And my final prediction (I could go on, but it's time to call it a night): A world that was unquestionably less safe in 2009 with its lone superpower under the guidance of The Messiah who had (and continues to have) his hand outstretched, ass to the sky, lips planted on some despot's ass, will be even more less safe in 2010. You'd think that the Dumb Ass In Chief would have been able to figure out by now that his strategy of running down the greatest country in the world while simultaneously kissing dictator's asses isn't working but radical leftist ideologues don't have any common sense, only their blind radical leftist ideology. So he'll continue to run down the U.S. and weaken our defenses by disarming, slashing defense budgets, dithering on troop deployments and ignoring serious political strife in such countries as Iran (he'll probably send out the Secretary of Stooge at some point with her red "reset" button again) to the detriment of freedom and democracy all over the world.

As Kevin Wall said on Bill Bennett's show this morning, perhaps there's a rational explanation such as low blood sugar or something like that. But if there is, one hasn't been forthcoming as it should be if a U.S. Senator appears drunk when he gets up to make a speech.

I don't know about you, but showing up to work drunk gets you fired at my place of business. We should expect no less out of the folks who get paid $175,000 a year to represent us in Washington D.C. And don't try to tell me Three Sheets Baucus isn't my representative. In the Washington political climate we are faced with today where hardcore leftists run the show and are leading a full frontal assault on our liberties completely against the will of the vast majority of the American people, every single vote holds sway over my liberty and yours -- whether you're in Montana or Hawaii or Iowa or Maine or anyplace in between. And in this incendiary political environment, there's no room for Mr. Tipsy. As with most every Democrat in D.C., he has a difficult enough time making rational decisions when he's sober let alone when he's had a few too many.

A Northwest Airlines passenger from Nigeria, who said he was acting on al-Qaeda's instructions, tried to blow up the plane today as it was landing in Detroit, law enforcement and national security officials said.
A senior U.S. counterterror official says a passenger aboard a Delta Air Lines flight in Detroit was planning to blow up the plane but the explosive device failed, the Associated Press reported today.
Passengers subdued the man and may have prevented him from detonating the explosives, the officials said.
A White House official said the incident was an attempted act of terrorism.

Were I a reporter, the first question I'd be asking The Family Guy as President Messiah reposes in Hawaii would be: "Mr Family Guy Gibbs. sir, the White House is characterizing THIS Islamic terrorist attack as a terrorist attack. I'm sure that having to admit this pains you greatly. However considering this radical Islamic terrorist readily admits being in league with al-Qaeda would you perhaps go out on a limb and call this a radical Islamic terror attack? Follow up on that please sir? In the past, we have been told by the fearless Janet Napolitano that there is no such thing as a terror attack -- they are merely "man caused disasters". Furthermore, the Administration has thus far refused to call the attack by a radical Islamic terrorist at Fort Hood a terror attack. Mr. Family Guy Gibbs, sir: What exactly is the distinction between this apparently "attempted act of terrorism and a "man caused disaster" like the apparently "man caused disaster" at Fort Hood? Then I'd sit back and watch him stutter and stammer and do the only thing he's actually good at: Say something utterly moronic. The simple fact of the matter is that there IS no distinction -- they are all exactly the same and the fact that this weak, ineffective administration can't say so is the exact reason why there have been two terrorist attacks on U.S. soil in the span of the 11 short (yet very long) months since The Messiah took office.

This second Islamic terror attack on U.S. soil in the last three months is further evidence that the "I'll apologize for the U.S. bow down and kiss your ass and you'll dis my country, I'll extend an outstretched hand, you'll smack it with your clenched fist" foreign policy is dangerous and that you can't trust lefties with foreign policy. The world's only superpower has become a laughingstock among the world's terrorists and tin pan dictators and the whole world is less safe for it.

You'll recall that the worst terror attack on U.S. soil occurred after the last eight years of inept Democrat foreign policy in which, among other things we gave missile targeting technology to the Chinese in exchange for campaign donations, helped North Korea build a nuclear reactor for peaceful purposes that they promptly began to use to enrich weapons-grade uranium. And, of course, pies de resistance of the Clinton foreign policy: Ignored a half-dozen Islamic terror attacks that ended in the incoming Republican administration having to deal with a massive Islamic terror attack -- one that we are dealing with to this day. And why exactly are we dealing with it to this day? Chiefly because of the Democrat's efforts to stifle our abilities to actually conduct a War o n Terror in the manner in which it should be conducted. And we keep electing Democrat presidents exactly why?

So The Messiah boasts two radical Islamic terror attacks on American soil in less than a year on the job. What do we have to look forward to in the next three years? Well, trying said Islamic terrorists in a New York courtroom with the full menu of rights available to any American citizen, for one. Shutting down a perfectly good military prison offshore and bringing radical Islamic enemy combatant terrorists right into the heart of the country (and, absurdly asserting that this is "economic development") for another. Next? Sitting on our hands and doing nothing while the modern-day Nazis of the Middle East -- Iran's despotic regime which kills and imprisons those who disagree with it -- build a bomb while simultaneously perfecting a platform on which to launch it. Oh, and reneging on our promise to build a missile defense system for our Eastern European allies that just might be capable of neutralizing said threat. And this is all upcoming NEXT year. God only knows what years three and four have in store for us. We somehow survived eight years of Clinton's ineptitude but can we survive three more years of foreign policy ineptitude magnified by 100 times the Clinton years? I pray to God we can.

The American people don’t want nationalized health care.

The Democratic Congress and the President don’t care. They tell us that we will love it when they let us see it. But they won’t let us see it until they have it passed (and set in stone, according to some parts of the bill—as Senator Demint has shown us, there are clauses claiming to make the legislation unalterable and unrepealable.)

Democracy much, guys?

The American people don’t believe in global warming.

The Democratic Congress and the President don’t care. They are willing to hand over our national sovereignty on the issue to a global authority (which they’ve already done with the economy, via the Financial Stability Board.)

The American people think it’s wrong to make pro-life taxpayers pay for abortions. Diane Feinsten says it’s their moral duty. Just as Joe Biden says it’s our moral duty to pay higher taxes when the Congress sees fit.

The American people have voted more than thirty different times to preserve marriage as an institution between a man and a woman only. The wise old owls of the courts, the Democratic Congress, and the President don’t care. They think we are troglodytes and hate-mongers.

And yet we are the majority.

The American people are sorry they elected this President, and 46 percent of them strongly disapprove of how he is doing his job, while another ten percent merely disapprove.

He doesn’t care.

And yet we are the majority.

When the people who hold these truths to be self-evident come out into the streets, email their alleged representatives, and complain loudly that they object to the government appropriating unto itself so many things that used to be only our business (including business itself), they are derided by the media as “teabaggers,” “racists,” and fools.

And yet we are the majority.

The Founding Fathers (and, yes, Virginia, they were, to a man, men) did not envision a government like this. They did not anticipate that there would be an American Congress that would have such contempt for the people they were elected to serve. They believed in citizen statesmen, who took the responsibility of office seriously, devoted their full time to it for a short service, and then went home to continue their lives as ordinary citizens.

They did not envision a land in which tobacco-smoking would be counted as tantamount to sin, while the murder of the unborn and buggery would not only be considered “rights,” but would be advocated by people from the White House itself.

We have fallen a long way, baby.

But perhaps the most egregious and disgusting official act in the history of this country will come tomorrow morning. For then, two-thousand fortyish years after a baby was born that brought the world true hope, the United States Senate will vote for a bill that will kill unborn babies and proclaim a false hope.

The president has decreed that he will put his family’s vacation on hold until the Senate finishes this business, thus adding to the injury being done to the taxpayers the insult of blaming any Senator brave enough to stand against this travesty for ruining his children’s Christmas. Excuse me, “holiday.”

America no longer has “Christmas" (though it remains on the federal calendar.) We have a “holiday”—though how the day is holy is a matter not to be publicly discussed, unless it serves a political purpose, as when Hillary Clinton a few years ago claimed that Mary and Jesus were a homeless mother and child.

But if we accept the bill that the Senate will pass tomorrow, we don’t deserve a holiday of any kind. We don’t deserve a country, if we don’t do something to stop this massive federal power grab.

There are things in this bill that are totally unconstitutional. There are invasions into our economic, medical, and family privacy we have never seen before. There are “death panels,” and there is abortion. This bill decrees taxes that will destroy the tanning industry, and a structure that will make quick work of the private insurance industry. Within the next five years, we will not recognize what the finest health care in the world has become, and we may not even be able to remember what once was.

After they take this vote tomorrow, the Senators will skitter out of town like the rats that they are. The Republicans standing against this mess will go home to their constituents and hang their heads in sorrow that they could not stop the train. The Democrats will hide among their SEIU pals and celebrate the first step on the road to Marxism.

And what will we do? What can the American people do to resist this unconstitutional taking of their liberties and property? Is there a Declaration to be written in the coming year? Is there a new party to arise? Have we any hope of re-establishing a government of common sense and uncommon courage?

Only time will tell. For now, let us pray for one Democrat to be visited this night by the Spirits of Christmases Past, Present, and Future, to show him or her the liberties we are about to lose, the bribery that is taking place, and the misery that beckons ahead. Then, may that fearful dream lead to the one vote we need to stop this bill from passing on Christmas Eve morning.

And if there is not one Democrat of conscience, let us look forward to a year of summoning up our own courage, living out our principles, and doing what we must to reclaim the liberties God gave us.

Climate Change Crapola

I'm sitting at my dining room table this morning looking out on three feet of snow drifted on my deck by 60 mph wind gusts which, at the current temp of 9 degrees, puts the wind chill at somewhere around 20 below. The little dogs get lost in the 6-foot drifts in the yard when they go out to do their business. The big dog has a little bit better time of it but that's just because she's a little smarter about where she chooses to go. By choosing her steps carefully, she was able to make it all the way out to the fence about 60 feet north of the house. Any any rate, letting them in blows snow into the door track which quickly turns to ice and has to be chipped away to get the door closed.

This was two weeks ago. We have the same thing predicted for mid-week this week. Can you say nine inches of snow and 40 mph winds for Christmas. Kind of puts a damper on the whole "over the river and through the woods" thing unless your intent is to get lost in a raging blizzard and die of exposure.

Against this Midwest blizzard back drop and the recent revelations that man-made "global climate change" is bogus with the purveyors of the theory engaging in a conspiracy to cover it up, we have the EPA administrator doing a Hugo Chavez on us and imposing on us administrative rules that would double the price of home energy bills and kill large and small businesses alike with taxes and regulations. Just what we need in the Obama Jobless Recovery Economy: More government regulations to stifle economic growth. Meanwhile, my family is anticipating being trapped in our rural small-town home by a blizzard on Christmas Eve much as we were two weeks ago and are in fear of our very lives for all of the EPA-declared poisonous gas we will be exhaling and filling the house with.

The enviro-Nazis in the Obama Administration would call my little story anecdotal evidence -- an anomaly that has nothing whatsoever to do with the "climate change" problem. I would agree, because the notion of man-made "climate change" is bogus. They are saying that our Midwest blizzard that impacted 75% of the country and is the biggest since the early to mid 90s AND the one that beat the East Coast to hell this past weekend and was the biggest in decades AND the one predicted for Christmas AND every other blizzard in what is shaping up to be a rough winter are evidence of "climate change" -- the phrase they now use to cover up the fact that they were wrong about the planet warming dangerously and killing the Polar Bears. Those of us that are old enough to remember the weather patterns in the 60s and 70s remember that out here in flyover country, we could count on one of these storms at least once a year. Now it looks like we'll get at least two this season, possibly more. You might recall that back then, the same people who are telling us we are killing the Polar Bears and melting the ice caps were telling us we were in for an ice age. In the 30s and 40s and most of the 50s, these storms were rare. What does this add up to? It adds up to the normal changing cycles of weather on planet Earth.

So as The Messiah got off the plane in Copenhagen in a raging blizzard to pledge $100 billion dollars we don't have to developing nations to assist them (read, squander any way they wish) in assisting us in halting the warming of the planet. and returned to yet another raging blizzard in Washington D.C. most people are, thankfully, beginning to realize what this "global warming" or "global climate change" or whatever they decide to call it next is all about: Control. If these Nazis can use irrational fear tactics and bogus "evidence" to "prove" that man is screwing up the weather on the planet, they can then use strong-arm tactics to stifle production of the gasses they say "cause" the "problem". Obama didn't get anything done on his snowy trip to Copenhagen, but his EPA Administrator Lisa Jackson intends to pick up where he left off. And she doesn't need congressional approval either: She declared that the gas all of us breath out and plants breath in is hazardous to humans and with that administrative order comes the ability of the Obama enviro-nazis to "spread the wealth around" by doubling our energy prices, and killing industry and more jobs in the process while the world's biggest polluter -- China -- surges ahead.

To the 52% of you who voted for this enviro-Nazi: Thanks for the change and may you live to regret your choice as much as those of us with functioning brains capable of rational though did 13 months ago and continue to to this day.

My Letter to Senator Sellout

Don't ever let any of these "moderate" Democrat senators get away with the BS that they are actually "moderate". They are all political whores just like every other Democrat and a big chunk of the Republicans. Here's my open letter to the whore (or is that gigillo) from Nebraska:

Senator Nelson:

How does it feel, sir, to cave to the Obama/Reid machine? How does it feel to have sacrificed your senate career for the sake of giving the peasants (read, average, middle-class American citizens) the crappiest of crappy health care? How does it feel to pledge your support for a bill you haven’t even seen in the name of politics? How does it feel to know that the “sausage” they are grinding out behind a locked door in the U.S. Capital will end up with some type of publicly-funded abortion option AND a public insurance option. Finally sir, how does it feel to be a sellout: The political patsy of the radical left?

The reason the radical leftists had to lean on you to get your vote, Senator Nelson, is because this is a bad bill and the vast majority of Americans recognize that it will steal their liberty, cause their health care costs to skyrocket, break the back of the taxpayer, drive the federal government deeper into debt and give us inferior health care to boot. Now it looks like we’ll have all of this thanks to you.

We don’t know much about this bill except that:

1.     Sixty one percent of the American people oppose this 2000+ page health care fiasco.

2.    Dick Durbin, the number-two senate leader in the United States Senate, admits he hasn’t even seen this bill, yet now we apparently have all the Democrats signing on to a bill they haven’t even read. These folks lie about everything – in fact whenever Obama or Reid open their mouths they are lying – and yet you believe they will make good on their concessions to you?

3.    Non partisan studies show that one-fifth of all hospitals and medical providers would become insolvent by 2019 if the Obama Reid Pelosi health care fiasco becomes law.

4.    CBO analysis shows that middle class families can expect to pay nearly ONE-FIFTH of their GROSS INCOME for this crappy, inferior care despite the fact that 85% of Americans already have health insurance and most have health insurance that is far superior to the crap you caved for.

5.    It is estimated that 100+million people will end up with this crap because, with the outrageous taxes on the GOOD health insurance most of us already have, employers will quickly dump it in favor of paying the much lower penalty for NOT carrying health insurance on their employees. You can’t blame them. When you are looking at a 35% tax on the GOOD insurance benefits you provide VS an 8% penalty for NOT providing health insurance, what would you do, Senator Nelson?

6.    Leaving aside the utter unconstitutionality of this whole mess, the federal government has NEVER proven itself able to operate any entitlement program efficiently. Witness the rampant Medicare and Medicaid fraud. Witness the $37 trillion unfounded liability accruing to Medicare in the next 30 years. Witness the ponzi scheme that is “Social Security” – another $40 trillion unfounded liability.

WHY IN GOD’S NAME, SENATOR NELSON, WOULD YOU WISH THIS MESS ON YOUR CONSTITUENTS????????????????????

You may not be my senator, sir – in fact I don’t even live in your state. But your betrayal of the American people will affect my liberty and property and that of my children and grandchildren for years – decades to come. We have the best health care system in the world, we asked that you help keep it that way and you pledged your vote to destroy it. Were I you, I wouldn’t waste the money on a re-election bid, sir, because there are literally tens of thousands of Iowans who will cross our western border to help the tens of thousands of Nebraskans you betrayed defeat you soundly the next time you’re up for re-election.

Iran Fires Off a Long-Range Missile

Iranian state media reported Wednesday that Tehran successfully test-fired an enhanced version of a solid-fuel medium-range missile, as U.S. and Western powers prepare to push for new economic sanctions against Iran over its nuclear program.
Iran said it fired an "optimized" version of its Sajjil-2, a medium-range missile capable of hitting Israel, according to Iranian media.

Tehran first tested the weapon in May, claiming it marked a significant milestone in its missile-technology efforts. In May, Iran said the Sajjil-2 had a range of 2,000 kilometers, or about 1,200 miles. That would make it capable of reaching Israel and the Black Sea coast of European Union members Romania and Bulgaria, though that isn't different than range capabilities claimed in previous missile launches.

So nice that with President Nutjob slapping The Messiah's outstretched hand until he breaks it off by simultaneously ramping up his missile systems and developing nukes that The Messiah, in his infinite wisdom decided that our Eastern European allies didn't really need that missile defense system we committed to building for the sake of their security and the security of the world for that matter. Former Bush United Nations Ambassador John Bolton -- the man who should be Secretary of State if we had any brains -- said on Fox News tonight that our only hope to stop the Iranian nuke program now is for Israel to take out their nuclear capability. The world's "superpower" under the leadership of Super Pansy-Ass Messiah won't take any action to make the world a safer place so we have to rely on a tiny country like Israel to defend itself and the world by doing our job. Meanwhile Pansy Fly TNT is sending clandestine love notes to the little pot-bellied dictator of North Korea.

Parker told a Sunday press conference about her transition team, her plans to change the running of the Houston Police Department and the financial constraints faced by the city.

Perhaps someone would care to explain to me exactly HOW these deviants are discriminated against. Yes, deviants. Deviant sexual behavior is that which is out of the norm of all sexual behavior -- the norm being, of course, sexual behavior engaged in by two consenting adults of the opposite sex, preferably within the bonds of Holy Matrimony -- sex where the parts function in the in the manner and location in which they were intended to function. Deviant sexual behavior is any other sex that doesn't conform to the norm. And this apparently includes the type of sex Asinine Parker (Or is that Annise?) prefers.

Oh yes, this story attempts to portray this as a woman bent on getting down to business and ignoring the fact that she is a sexual deviant. But those of us who have been watching the news all day know that this is the exact opposite of what is actually happening. In actuality, the liberal media have been in full swoon mode today over the fact that the fourth-largest city in the country will be run by a sexual deviant. In fact, the main focus of Parker's speech was to crow about how this is something sexual deviants such as herself thought they could never attain. And yet she did.

Fact is that the demographics on deviants such as Parker indicate that they have higher household incomes than the vast majority of American households, many hold advanced degrees and high-paying administrative jobs and aren't hurting at all from any perceived "discrimination". What is unique about these deviants is that they choose to define themselves first and foremost by their deviant sexual behavior. Hence the orgy over a woman who prefers unnatural deviant sex with other women becoming mayor of the fourth largest U.S. city.

The fact that the type of sex Parker wants to make sure everyone knows she prefers is deviant isn't some kind of obscure, right wing Christian, conservative cultist theory. It's a fact borne out by common sense. Aside from the fact that it has been the way families have been organized and men have been civilized for thousands of years, there's also the common sense biological fact of it all. I challenge anyone to show me where on a women it was intended that the female genitalia be placed in order to achieve the natural result of sex. Likewise I challenge anyone to show me where on a man another man's genitalia was intended to be inserted in order to achieve the natural result of sex.

Right now, anyone that happens to be reading this who shares Parker's affinity for the same sex is labeling me the most vile type of homophobe. In fact, most would like to label the opinion I just laid out hate speech -- hate speech that would easily be subject to censor under The Messiah's "net neutrality" plans. The fact is that I don't hate anyone and the notion that I am a homophobe -- that I fear homosexuals -- is patently absurd. I just think that there's something wrong with someone who chooses to define themselves by their deviant sexual behavior -- behavior that I could frankly care less about as long as it is done behind closed doors by two consenting adults -- receiving special rights or notoriety for the fact that they are sexual deviants. I pray for these folks and hope that someday they will see the error of their ways. And in the meantime I wish they would just shut up about their deviant sexual behavior and certainly don't consider it any type of milestone that a sexual deviant has achieved high political office.

No, I'm not talking about hot chics. I'm talking about your kids and mine and the Obama, Pelosi, Reid plan to fund health care by forcing them to buy crappy government health insurance then jacking the price of it through the roof.

What is that you're saying?

Well, it's like this: The commie libs have to have people who are less likely to have to use their crappy health insurance -- 18-35-year-olds -- to 1) to be required by law to buy their crappy health insurance and 2) to pay more for it than they would ordinarily have to pay for GOOD private health insurance so they can fund "insurance" for the old and the sick.

I put "insurance" in quotation marks because we're not really talking about health insurance in the true sense of the word. What it actually is is a ponzi scheme whereby the sick person or senior pays a nominal fee to have the cost of their treatment paid for by someone else. This is, of course, the very essence of what liberals are implying when they say they will require insurance companies to cover "pre-existing conditions". As far as covering "pre-existing conditions" goes, anyone with a second-grade education can understand, you can't accept a nominal fee for payment of tens (or hundreds) of thousands of dollars in medical bills for very long without going broke, even if you have kids funding this scam for grandma and grandpa. Eventually, the insurance company goes broke and in steps the only entity that can operate on Bernie Madoff accounting rules (x100) and not have its leaders thrown in prison for fraud -- the federal government.

Throughout this debate, Pelosi, Reid, Obama and the other Marxists have tried to draw an analogy between requiring kids and others without health insurance to purchase it and the requirement that every driver have car insurance. This argument is absurd on its face and, again, the absurdity ought to be evident to anyone with a second-grade education. First of all, the primary purpose of car insurance is to mitigate your liability to the other drivers on the road should you run into them. Secondly, you don't have to have car insurance if you don't own a car. The Marxists running wild in Washington want to make buying health insurance your "birthright". For the distinct privilege of being an American, you will be required to buy health insurance or be fined or jailed or both. As far as the requirements that health insurance companies cover pre-existing conditions goes, here's a car analogy that does work: It's exactly like the government requiring an insurance company to cover me AFTER I crashed my car into a tree without having car insurance.

Right now, many young people choose not to buy health insurance due to the fact that they have other things to spend their money on like movies and gas and beer and they don't want to pay for health insurance when they are healthy and don't usually go to a doctor. If they do want to by health insurance, there are still many affordable options in the quasi-capitalist American society of 2009. I happen to know that a 21-year-old healthy female can get a very good private health insurance policy through an insurance agent for far less than $200 a month. Under the Obama, Reid, Pelosi Marxist health plan, these plans will be phased out as soon as one little detail of the policy changes and the young adult will be forced on to the government health care plantation for three times the price for inferior care. All so they can pay "their fair share" to help equalize the cost of paying for the care of someone who is paying a nominal fee for having their pre-existing condition covered. Although is sounds positively absurd, the explanation of this ridiculous Marxist scheme isn't nearly as bad as it is in actual practice.

What does this mean in actual practice? What it means is that we are hog-tying young folks who are just starting to make their way in the world -- starting families, establishing homes, making lives together. Off they go into the cold cruel world with knowledge that not only are they not going to be able to provide for their families the quality health care they had grown accustomed to as kids, they're going to be paying two to three times as much for access to the crappy care and they'll have to start getting used to doing as the Brits and Canadians do: Getting in line and waiting for months for the basic services most of us have grown accustomed to immediate access to in our quasi-market-driven system. When you're paying three times as much for crappy health care, it's a hell of a lot harder to save up for that down payment on a house or make a car payment for a dependable car. In short, it means that the Marxists in Congress are dooming our kids to a standard of living that will necessarily be lowered by looming double-digit inflation coupled with a crushing new tax burden to fund the Marxist's bloated "stimulus" spending. And the cherry on top is three times the premium for crappy health care.

This is an issue that hits kids in the pocket book right now -- it's easy for them to understand. Talking about this to your young adults is a perfect opportunity to make inroads with your conservative message on a demographic that leans heavily Democrat or liberal simply because so much of the pop culture and fake news they consume has a decidedly leftist bent. Do you think their buddy John Liebowitz of the Daily Show is going to talk about the fact that Obama, Pelosi and Reid plan on hosing them to fund their health insurance scheme? Hell no! Once the message starts to sink in, you're liable to get a reaction such as "What? You mean they're going to force ME to buy health insurance? .... But, I thought it was going to be free if you couldn't afford it." Then the light really starts to go on as you explain that, no it's not going to be free and whatever meager income they make will be good enough for the health insurance sickos to take away from them to fund their scheme. Then you can explain to them that's not all. Talk to them about how the Marxists claim that this plan will cost $1.5 trillion over ten years but that's likely vastly underestimated because the federal government has a habit of vastly under-projecting the cost of the medical programs it funds. If you want to use the amount they under-estimated the cost of Medicare as a rule of thumb, for example, you can increase the ten-year amount by three to four times or $4.5 to $6 trillion over ten years. Then if you take into account the fact that because of numerous schemes and scams and set-asides and "fixes" that aren't included in the cost, you're looking at closer to $2.5 trillion over ten years x3 is $7.5 trillion to $10 trillion over ten years. Then you can hit them between the eyes with the fact that this plan is front-loaded for three years -- the taxes are paid for three years before the plan even kicks in which means that should this pass, they start paying higher health insurance premiums NOW and don't receive ANY "benefits" until three years from now. Then you can tell them that if they happen to be lucky enough to attain a family income of $96,000 a year in the lousy Obama economy, the Congressional Budget Office estimates that they will spend 19% of this gross income on government health insurance premiums and co-pays.

Finally, if you happen to get the question about how you know that this bloated bureaucracy that we are going to fund on the backs of our kids and their kids is going to necessarily produce crappy health care, tell them that for this little fact we have actual experience: The crappy socialized health care systems that exist in other countries. Take Canada's for example, where waiting lists for routine surgeries are the norm and people are routinely denied life-saving drugs and treatments.

Another example that the government health care commies point to consistently: Great Britain, where women give birth in hospital corridors and ambulances triage patients outside of emergency rooms to avoid the requirement that British citizens be served within four hours of entering the emergency room. And do you want to talk about rationing? Tell them about NICE -- the Natonal Institutes for Health and Clinical Excellece -- the deceptively named body that is charged with rationing care to Britons. If you go to the NICE website you can find all kinds of "guidelines, contained in spreadsheets, PDFs, Word documents, etc., all couched under the heading "NICE guidance" that prescribe ways to "cut costs" at various stages of treatment -- most of which involve denying care or holding back on care depending on age and progression and severity of illness. If you dig far enough, you can actually find the "Quality Rated Years" calculation that assigns an arbitrary value to your life based on your age and medical condition which is exactly like the one the commie libs deny they will have in place here via their medical standards board.

It is only by getting the word out and letting people know how this monstrosity the Obama, Reid and Pelosi want to foist upon us will affect them, their kids and grandkids that we will be able to keep our health care system from being traformed from the best in the world (albeit, with its own problems) to a five-times larger version of the inept, failed government bureacracy Great Britain has.

An Open Letter to Any Senator Who is Still "On the Fence" on Government-Run Health Care

It goes without saying that any senator who can't make up their mind on the issue of turning the best health care system in the world into a massive inefficient government bureaucracy is a moron. But the fact is that these morons hold our liberty in the palms of their hands and it's up to us to do everything we can to persuade them to vote against their leadership and the clueless jackass who is the current occupant of the White House. Here's my attempt which I recently faxed to any of the aforementioned morons that I think might be persuadable. I strongly suggest that any of you who value your liberty do the same. I don't even care if you copy and paste mine. We all must do anything we can to stop this:

Ladies and gentlemen of the United States Senate:

* 10.2% unemployment, -- 17%+ if you count the underemployed and people who have stopped looking for work. We've lost almost 4 million jobs on this president's watch and all he has for the unemployed is unsubstantiated talk about "saved" jobs and a "jobs summit".

* $100 trillion in deficits national debt and unfounded liabilities in current entitlement programs. Trillions in debt sold to our enemies who could destroy our economy in the blink of an eye by merely calling it in. All this to be passed on to my kids and grandkids (and everyone else's for that matter) creating the first generation of Americans - ever - that may not be able to give their kids a better standard of living than we gave them.

* Medicare: Bankrupt. Medicaid: Bankrupt. Social Security: Bankrupt

And to this, your leadership and your president want to add the granddaddy of all entitlements - national health care - that will necessarily give us a lower standard of care, rationing and huge bills for premiums, a bill that, again, will be borne on the backs of our children and grandchildren. This monstrosity is purported to cost $1.3 trillion over ten years, but three of those years are front-loading: We start paying for it three years before it even starts! Using this type of "fuzzy math", we'll probably end up right where Medicare was 25 years after its inception: 1100% over the 1965 projections! So let's be conservative and say that your genius leaders have only underestimated by half as much. That means, the front-loaded costs over ten years of funding seven years of this plan will only be a "modest" $6.5 trillion! What a deal, ladies and gentlemen! An entitlement that eats up roughly half of the current annual gross domestic product over ten years. Add this to Social Security, the newly slashed Medicare, Medicaid, the S-chip program and other entitlements and you have an unsustainable mess that will turn this country into Botswana quicker than you can say "somebody get me a doctor". And while we're on our way to turning the world's most prosperous republic into one of the world's largest slums, we'll start out by raping current families to pay for the "benefits" of crappy health care like they have in Canada and Great Britain.

Let me tell you ladies and gentlemen, my family is by no means "rich". But Nancy Pelosi's health care bill that you are going to attempt to "reconcile" with your own calls for $15,000 in premiums for a family in my family's income range - roughly three times what our portion of the premium on our employer-provided "Cadillac" (Who in the hell are you to tell me that my health plan is TOO good?) plan is. When you tax employers 35% on their "Cadillac" plans on the one hand and have them pay an 8% penalty for not carrying health insurance on their employees, any third-grader can tell you that you have set up a recipe for employers to drop their coverage. It's common sense, ladies and gentlemen. So it's disingenuous at best and a lie at worst to try to tell middle class Americans with employer-sponsored plans that they aren't going to end up in the government pool at $15,000 a year for crappy care.

What do we need? We need REAL health care reform:

1. We need to fix the problems with Medicare, Medicaid, the VA health system and the Tribal heath care systems before we tackle anything else that has anything remotely to do with MORE health care. The government has proven it can't run four separate (at least) health care programs. Why should we have any reason to think it can successfully run yet another health care plan?
2. We need market-based solutions: Get the government OUT of health care, don't get it more involved. Some of us are actually old enough to remember when the health care system ran well and was cost-effective - before the mid-sixties when the government waded into the fray. You paid cash for basic services and the services were priced so that you could pay cash for them. You had health insurance for catastrophic claims.
3. Along these lines, the government needs to encourage free market alternatives to government intervention: Health savings accounts; allow insurance companies to expand their risk pools by selling across state lines; get rid of all the ridiculous mandates for care and let Americans pick the coverage that works best for them.
4. Tort reform: All of you know that one of the biggest drivers of health care costs is the outrageous costs of malpractice insurance, litigation and all the tests doctors call for to make absolutely certain that they won't get sued if the patient isn't happy with the outcome.

Ladies and gentlemen, you may not be my senators. But your vote will affect my liberty and property and that of my children and grandchildren for years - decades to come. We have the best health care system in the world, and I ask that you help keep it that way - vote against the Obama/Reid/Pelosi health care boondoggle. My family's prosperity and health care and your prospects for reelection depend on it.

This is what the U.S. House of Representatives brought us tonight with the passage of the most invasive, unconstitutional, .liberty-robbing, tax-raising monstrosity in the history of our Republic:

Nov. 7 (Bloomberg) -- The U.S. House passed legislation with the most far-reaching changes to the nation’s health-care system in four decades, requiring all Americans to get coverage, and subjecting insurers to new restrictions and competition from a government program.
The House voted 220-215 today to approve the measure, which would cost more than $1 trillion over 10 years. Just one Republican, Representative Joseph Cao of Louisiana, backed the plan, and 39 Democrats broke ranks to oppose it.
Lawmakers hailed the step as a historic follow-on to the 1965 creation of the Medicare program for the elderly and disabled. They said the bill would cover 36 million uninsured Americans and curb costs. New rules would prevent insurers from denying coverage to people with preexisting conditions, and seniors would get help obtaining preventive care and medicine.

It has become crystal clear at this point that the people we sent to "represent" us in Washington D.C. don't care what we think - period. Poll after poll over the last few months has indicated that the overwhelming majority of Americans are happy with their current health care and health insurance and oppose any attempts to change it. The majority of us instinctively know that this boondoggle will raise our taxes, rob us of our health care choices and give us vastly inferior health care at a higher cost. Scores of Americans showed up at liberal politician's "town hall meetings" to express their concerns about government-run health care. Tens of thousands flooded the email servers at the capital, melted the phone lines and tied up the fax machines. Twenty thousand showed up in Washington the other day to look their congressman in the eye and tell them they better not vote for government-run health care if they know what's good for their re-election. The radical lefties that run Congress didn't care.

As us conservatives have said all along, this has never been about "health care". It's always been about power and control. And 220 members of the U.S. House of Representatives -- including one RINO Joseph Cao of Louisiana, phone 202-225-6636, fax 202-225-1988 -- just voted themselves power over every aspect of your life. Because if these morons have control over the most personal aspect of anyone's life -- their medical records and their personal health care choices -- they have control over everything. And when the government is paying the bills, which they will be in five years if this bill becomes law, they will assert control over every aspect of your life. It starts with unconstitutionally mandating that you buy health insurance if you don't have it and levying stiff fines and penalties against you if you don't. It ends up in them dictating what you can and you can't do with your life based on the fact that the government is paying for your medical care. Overweight, well you had better lose weight or you won't be covered. Perhaps the government will have some bureaucracy to manage your diet for you. Too old? Well we'll probably just "give you a pill" (in the imortal words of The Messiah) if that and keep you confortable until you kick the bucket. Are you above the "golden ages" of 14 to 40? Well one of the guys who will have a big role in the implementation of this outrage "Zeke" brother of Rahm Imanuel will use his "complete lives system" do determine just exactly how much your life is worth but at the age of, say, 48, you've already had your shot at a complete life so if it comes down you you or the 20-year-old for kidney dialysis, you're SOL buddy.

This is an absolute outrage and the firewall now is the U.S. Senate. If you value your liberty, if you truly want to leave your kids a better society than your parents left you, the only choice we have now is to stop this in the Senate.

Christie Wins New Jersey Governor's Race

Yes, Bob McDonnell won Virginia's governorship as well but that was widely regarded to become the royal ass beating that it was several days ago -- The Messiah threw McDonnell's opponent Creigh Deeds under the bus long ago. But The Messiah was counting on the sheer force of his magnetic personality and the help of the team he personally installed to revive Corzine's campaign. It didn't work. Moderate Republican Chris Christie is currently beating Corzine by five to six points despite the fact that Corzine outspent him better than five to one.

In the next few days you'll hear a lot of talk from the commie pinkos in the administration that these races don't count for much -- it's started already. Excuse the hell out of me, but New Jersey is such a dark blue state that it's practically navy and in the last few days Obama did everything to get Corzine elected besides install himself as the candidate. He even took the unpresidential and unseemly step of recording a robocall in support of Corzine. Can you imagine getting up from your plate of spaghetti to answer the phone only to hear the president of the United States apologizing for interrupting your meal to stump for the little bald rich guy from New Jersey? For Corzine's part, he not only spent tens of millions of that little bald rich guy money, he sold his soul to the Obama Administration in exchange for their support. This is a HUGE loss for Obama and both of these governor's races are a HUGE reflection of the fact that Americans overwhelmingly reject the socialist agenda of the administration of the liberal's exalted Messiah. I can't wait for 2010. And 2012. Can we run the 2008 presidential election over again next month with Sarah Palin on the top of the ticket instead of McCain? Heck, I'd even let the Democrats put Biden the Boob on the top of their ticket.

Stop the Obama/Pelosi/Reid Health Care Power Grab

As most of you may have heard, Nancy Pelosi unleashed the latest health care monstrosity -- a 2000-page liberty-robbing health care bill that would essentially mandate the eliminate of private health insurance policies within a five-year period, robbing all of us of the right to make our own health insurance choices, driving up costs for all of us and steal our liberty in the process. All this while leaving the same number of Americans uninsured that are already uninsured.

Here is an overview of how Pelosi/Reid/Obamacare will harm American families:

The Fix Health Care Policy blog at Heritage.org contains links to the specifics about what makes this a horrible bill.Here are just a few of the main reasons:

1. The fact is that the costs are spread over ten years starting immediately but the plan doesn't even start until 2013. So $1 trillion in costs are squeezed out of employers and employees alike over ten years to pay for six years of "health insurance reform" while they spend the first three years paying for their current health care plans. Additionally, with the federal government's propensity to underestimate the cost of everything, costs are likely to be far higher. If you use the amount that they underestimated the cost of Medicare as an average (it's likely to be much higher because this plan would cover many more Americans), the plan would actually cost between $7 and $11 trillion over ten years. This is after we've already rung up $1.4 trillion in debt in just the last year with a total national debt of $12 trillion and unfunded mandates of tens of trillions of dollars all placed on the backs of our kids and grand kids.

2. Like HR 3200, the newer bigger and worse HR 3962 prohibits the sale of private health insurance policies after five years. If you currently pay for your own, private health insurance, kiss it goodbye after five years. You'll be on the government plan (public option) and the "health choices commissioner" will make your choices for you.

3. HR 3962 will reduce costs? As if! If you are a contributing member of society, get ready to pay dozens of new taxes to fund this boondoggle. When has the government EVER reduced the cost of anything?

4. That's okay you say, I don't want health insurance. Too bad. The government will fine you for not having it and fine your employer for not providing what the government says they should provide. These fines can't go to pay your health insurance premiums. ().

As I mentioned before, this has nothing to do with health care as evidenced by the fact that it leaves the same number of Americans uninsured as we currently have -- around 15 million -- and we could easily cover all of these folks using current programs at a cost of about $40 billion over ten years. Given that 85% of Americans are happy with their current health insurance and don't want this bill it's obvious that this has everything to do with government control of one-sixth of the nation's economy.

Nancy Pelosi wants to ram this 2000-page nightmare that no one has even read through the House this week. Thursday is supposedly the target date that our liberty will be snatched away from us. If you don't have the right to make your own health care decisions -- some of the most personal and private decisions you and your family will ever make -- what rights WILL you have in the future? We must all call our representatives at 202-224-3121 and make our opinions known. A mass outpouring of opposition to this massive Democrat power grab is the only thing that will stop it.

New York RINO Drops Out of New York District 23 Congressional Race

Who says a conservative third-party candidate can't prevail? Certainly not the true conservatives in upstate New York.

ALBANY, N.Y. – Fighting plunging support, Republican Dierdre Scozzafava abruptly suspended her campaign Saturday in a special election for a U.S. House seat that has exposed a rift among national factions of the party.

Campaign spokesman Matt Burns said Scozzafava is essentially withdrawing from the race, although her name will remain on Tuesday's ballot. She thinks stepping aside is best for the party, he said.
"It is increasingly clear that pressure is mounting on many of my supporters to shift their support," Scozzafava said in a written statement. "Consequently, I hereby release those individuals who have endorsed and supported my campaign to transfer their support as they see fit."

The announcement comes after a Siena College poll found she was in third place with 20 percent of the vote in the heavily Republican upstate New York district that has been safe ground for the party for more than 100 years. Conservative Party nominee Doug Hoffman and Democratic nominee Bill Owens were too close to call with 35 percent and 36 percent, respectively.

In recent days it seemed like the only prominent Republican that still supported Scozzafava was Newt Gingrich and of course the Republican National Committee. The RNC moved quickly to endorse Hoffman, meaning what? That when conservatives stand together we can have an impact on the national party and take it back from the RINOS. Smart conservatives know that a third party is not the way to go. What did a third party get us in 1992? Eight years of William Jefferson Blythe Clinton and the use of Lewinsky as a verb to describe fellatio. Oh yeah, and a secretary of state who is quite possibly as bad as Madeline Aldumb or Warren "Yertle the Turtle" Christopher. Hoffman would have preferred to run as a Republican, but the RINOS running the Republican establishment in New York wouldn't have it. So he turned the tables on them and his strategy worked thanks to a lot of publicity generated first by Fred Thompson and Sarah Palin then picked up by prominent conservative talk show hosts nationwide. This is a great victory for conservatism because it marks the beginning of the process of turning the Republican Party back into the party of Reagan.

White House Communications Director Anita Dunn's husband is emerging as the top candidate to replace Greg Craig as White House counsel, Fox News has learned.

Dunn's husband, Bob Bauer, is President Obama's personal lawyer and a former counsel to his campaign, as well as the top lawyer for the Democratic National Committee.

Senior White House officials declined to comment, but Democrats close to the situation said Bauer is under serious consideration to replace Craig, who is expected to leave the White House by the end of the year.

White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs said no decisions have been made on Craig's future or on any potential replacement.

Dunn, who has leveled sharp criticism at Fox News in recent weeks, is also expected to leave the White House by the end of the year. She took the communications post on an interim basis in late April, replacing Ellen Moran, who resigned to become chief of staff at the Commerce Department.

Presumably Dunn will be leaving to take the communications director post for Mao national shrine and museum where she will spin his slaughter of 50-70 million Chinese during his regime as "the people's right to choose" to end their lives prematurely.

It's rather unusual for a man and a woman who have little or nothing in common to become man and wife. So it's only fair to assume that Bauer is aware of his wife's Maoist tendencies and approves of them, if not actively supporting her love of genocidal maniacs. And this guy, married to a commie-loving feminazi straight from hell (why else would she not do the respectable thing and take her husband's last name) -- a guy who is obvious a close friend of The Messiah himself -- is going to be handling legal affairs for the White House. WASHINGTON -- Even with an economic revival, many U.S. jobs lost during the recession may be gone forever and a weak employment market could linger for years.
That could add up to a "new normal" of higher joblessness and lower standards of living for many Americans, some economists are suggesting.
The words "it's different this time" are always suspect. But economists and policy makers say the job-creating dynamics of previous recoveries can't be counted on now.

First of all, let's put to bed the notion that there is some type of "economic revival". Last time I checked, just like the definition of a recession is two quarters of negative economic growth, the definition of a recovery ought to be two quarters of positive economic growth. Sorry to burst The Messiah's bubble but we didn't even have one quarter of positive economic growth. What we have is the lapdog liberal media peeing their pants at every little teeny-tiny scintilla of evidence that there might be some positive economic news and immediately pouncing on it to declare the recession over. Let's look at the facts:

* For the entire eight years of the Bush Administration liberals and their lapdogs in the press were declaring that the growth years of the Bush Administration were the worst for the economy since the Great Depression even though the exact opposite was the truth.

* During a Republican administration, the media trot out the soup line occupants and homeless shelter sad sacks at the first sign of one minor economic indicator dropping 1/100th of a percent. In fact, even during the boom years in a Republican administration (which are most of the years of a Republican administration), you can't get past the stories about the people the economy has "left behind". Oddly enough, during a Democrat administration -- especially The Messiah's administration -- these stories are non-existent, even as the economy continues to tank.

* In the U.S., we are used to robust economic growth (spurred by conservative economic policies) interrupted by short recessionary pullbacks (spurred by liberal economic policies -- this is an historical fact). In all past cases -- even preceding the Great Depression -- the definition of a recovery has been wild economic growth that has brought us back to the baseline and past it in a matter of months. Nothing even close to that is happening right now.

*The Dow has been lingering between 9,000 and 10,000 for the past 3 months and the trend could only be described as mediocre -- it's not exactly charging ahead. Every major economic indicator -- unemployment, consumer confidence, home sales, household income -- are in the tank. None of them have even come close to approaching their pre-recession baselines. Yet the press jumps up and down for joy at new home sales being up a few percentage points when they are actually comparing new home sales to the previous year when they were at record lows. Can you imagine ANY member of the press talking about a "jobless recovery" with a straight face during the last administration? Of course not. But in the era of The Messiah, it's actually given serious consideration. NEWS FLASH: You can't have a "recovery" without jobs because if people are still losing their jobs, the economy isn't recovering. Likewise, would the press have accepted a Bush Administration estimate of "saved jobs"? Of course not, but they lap it up when Obama and his minions talk about how many jobs their massive, irresponsible spending has "saved".

The facts are that the only reason why we will have to "live with" chronic 10+% unemployment (17+% if you count those who have given up their search or have taken part time employment) is because liberal economic policies -- talk of higher taxes on everything from cow farts to soda pop, crushing debt that threatens double-digit inflation and the loss of our AAA credit rating, absolute, unadulterated out of control government spending on top of out of control spending -- are going to continue to kill this economy and make it so that we WILL have to "live with" protracted economic malaise. We know what will fix this. We know how we can pull ourselves out of the Obama economic malaise. All we have to do is learn from history: Conservative economic policies grow the economy, liberal economic policies kill the economy. We can fix this by throwing the liberal bums -- Democrat and Republican alike -- out and electing good conservatives who will institute pro-growth economic policies.

No, you didn't wake up in Communist China or the former Soviet Union this morning (although either one of these countries is arguably more capitalist than we are any more). You woke up in the Brave New World of Obama where the "Pay Czar" dictates executive pay:

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Top White House economic adviser Lawrence Summers said on Wednesday the administration's pay czar will "substantially reduce" the paychecks at firms that have received billions of taxpayer dollars.
"With respect to the companies that have been major recipients of federal support, Ken Feinberg is reviewing them...(and) will, I suspect, produce an outcome where they will be very substantially reduced," Summers told the Reuters Washington Summit.
Feinberg, the pay czar appointed by President Barack Obama in June, is expected to cut total compensation by an average of 50 percent for the top earners at seven bailed-out firms, sources familiar with the matter said on Wednesday.
The administration has faced public outrage, as Wall Street firms that were recently propped up by federal assistance have brought their bonuses back to pre-crisis levels even as the general population faces the highest unemployment level in 26 years.

Some might argue that these folks make to much anyway and that their firms took government money and if you are in bed with the government, the feds dictate the terms of your employment. First of all, who in the hell are the feds to be dictating how much money a CEO makes? This is a decision that should be made by a board of directors that is elected by the shareholders. Secondly, now you see why these "bailouts" were a crappy idea in the first place. If the CEO does such a lousy job that his company fails, let it fail. That's the free market. No company is "too big to fail". Are these banks and automakers any better off with the government money than without it? Hell no. Just ask the folks at the Ford Motor Company whose executives aren't having their pay dictated by a "pay czar" because they didn't strike a deal with the devil.

White House Communications Director is a Mao Groupie

What is it with commie-lovers in this administration? Mark Lloyd worships Hugo Chavez and admires his control over the media in Venezuela. Carol Browner is a Socialist. Van Jones was a Socialist. The Messiah worships communists which is probably why there are so many in his administration. And now we have Anita Dunn, the White House communications director, an avowed admirer of Mao Zedong. Here's video from Glenn Beck's show in which Dunn names genocidal maniac and communist Mao Zedong as one of her top two favorite political philosophers then proceeds to expound on her admiration of his political history and spunk.

Dunn is the one who has declared war on Fox News claiming that they get their talking points from the Republican Party.

Nearly every host on Fox News, especially Glenn Beck who has installed a "red phone" from Fox News studios to the White House, would love to talk to Mao Ze Dunn about these allegations, but Dunn has been strangely non-communicative with the people at Fox who just want to set the record straight. Perhaps it's just that Dunn isn't interested in airing out the facts about her affection for Mao and the affinity The Messiah has for choosing socialists and communists for the important cabinet positions. Sounds to me like she's more interested in taking the same position news media the Obama Administration objects to here in the United States of America land of the free, home of the brave, as Hugo Chavez has in Venezuela -- just shut them down. You know, the same type of strategy her colleague Mark Lloyd, the FCC "diversity czar" praised Chavez for.

U.S. District Judge Victor Marrero sentenced the 58-year-old Hsu, who raised money for Hillary Rodham Clinton and others, to 20 years in prison for his guilty plea to fraud charges and another four years and four months in prison for his conviction at trial for breaking campaign finance laws.
In a lengthy criticism of Hsu's fraud, the judge said the former fundraiser used political contributions to win respect and impress investors as he committed campaign finance fraud.
"Mr. Hsu's disgraceful use of political campaigns to perpetuate his Ponzi schemes, as well as his acts of campaign finance fraud, strikes at the very core of our democracy," Marrero said.

Democratic fundraiser is one way to say it, but only to cover for the fact that this guy was a major fundraiser for the Missus in her campaign to become the second-worst president in my lifetime (right behind the current one and in my estimation, just a tad in front of Jimmy Carter):

It doesn't have anything to do with "health care" reform -- the last unpopular iteration of the Socialist's attempt to hijack nearly 20% of the economy -- either. If anything proves this, it's the fact that Democrats soundly defeated an attempt by Kentucky Senator Jim Bunning to require them them to actually have a bill and have it analyzed by the Congressional Budget Office at least 72 hours before voting on it.

This was Senator John F'in Kerry's lame excuse for not wanting to know what he was voting for:

Democrats argued that waiting for the legislative languange to be written, and for the CBO to evaluate it, would needlessly delay the process by weeks.
"Let's be honest about it, most people don't read the legislative language," Sen. John Kerry said.

Presumably this legislative language "most people don't read" would be eerily similar to the HR3200 legislative language that hundreds of thousands of ordinary Americans printed, bound and pored over before they attended town hall meetings to quiz their "representatives" on why the legislative language was written in such a way that it deprived people of the right to keep their own health care plans, throwing them into a crappy government plan, set up panels of bureaucrats who decided whether old folks lived or whether they just "took a pill" (to use the death panel denier's phrase), would tax the hell out of employers and employees alike and still run huge deficits and slash hundreds of billions out of Medicare among many other things. No, you're right Mr. F'in Kerry: most people don't read it, most concerned people devoured it.

The bottom line here is this: If these folks really cared about reforming "health insurance", they would have no problem taking the time to expose their plans to the light of day. But this isn't about health care, it's about radically transforming our society by taking complete control of one of the most private and personal aspects of any American's life: Their health care. And this, in turn, gives them the green light to take control of many other aspects of our lives and rob us of our liberty in the name of providing everything for us. They are coming for our "health care" and if they've got our health care, they've got everything.

I have to admire good military men (not ones who will lie for their boss like James Jones) like General Stanley McChrystal who stay on during a provable idiot's presidential administration to attempt to salvage something from the fool's errand that is The Idiot's military and foreign policy. But how long can he keep hanging on as The Messiah (aka The Idiot) walks a tightrope between appeasing his anti-defense buddies on the far left and understanding that after nearly nine months in office he's going to have to make a tough decision that might piss off his buddies on the left?

Like it or not, The Idiot owns this policy and he's going to have to shake off his leftist bent and realize that the presidency of the United States is the Big Job, not "community organizing" out of the back of an old Honda, the pursuit of which is, in the final analysis, of little consequence to anyone. I've got news for The Idiot: The job he's in now DOES count -- big time -- and when you're the president of the United States, you've got to make tough decisions regardless of whether you're capable of it or not. And it's obvious this moron is utterly incapable of making a decision that is any tougher than where to fly his wife off to for an uber expensive date on the taxpayer dollar.

What's the right decision in this case? Since The Idiot has absolutely no idea what he is doing in any aspect of a job that is way above his head (I mean watch him for a couple of days: He still thinks he's running for president), take the advice of the guy who does know about waging war: The general you put in charge of running the war. If The Idiot doesn't, he may well be abandoned by any real military leaders and find himself surrounded by yes-men like Gates and Jones.

Is anyone besides me struck by the utter absurdity of the talk that the world's Superpower might lose a war against a bunch of rag-tag terrorists worn down by eight years of fighting? It's not because our military isn't the best in the world.Our fighting men and women are second to none. It's not because we don't think our country is the best in the world and worth fighting for against the threat of another terror attack. It's because the president of the United States doesn't think there is anything exceptional about our military or our country: We're just one of a couple hundred other countries around the world to him: No better and no worse. In fact we're dismissive and derisive.

There ought to be a test -- similar to the test we need for voters to ensure we don't end up with an idiot for president -- about the history of American exceptionalism. If you can't write in 500 words or less why this country is exceptional in the world, you shouldn't be able to qualify to run for president and this "president" can't. It would take him more than 500 words to introduce the topic by apologizing for all of our "misdeeds" and by that time he would have forgotten the topic if he ever knew it in the first place.

PS: I don't like the fact that I have to call the president The Idiot, but it increasingly seems that this is the only apt way to describe this man and his ignorant, foolish and dangerous presidency.

Obama's Tweedle Dee-Tweedle Dum Dum Foreign Policy

The Administration of the Most Exalted Liberal Messiah has a foreign policy that would be humorous if the future of our nation and the world and our status as the world's premier super power weren't at stake.

The very first clue that The Messiah's foreign policy would suck was simply the fact that he's the most radical commie lib ever to hold the office of the presidency of the United States. This is something that wasn't lost on those of us with functioning brains long before he was even the Socialist's (Oh, sorry it's Democrat's, isn't it? There's so little difference between the two these days it's easy to forget that there is supposed to be a difference.) presidential nominee. Now that nearly half the people who voted for him are suffering buyer's remorse, there's little we can do about it except to shake our heads in wonder at the notion that so many people could have actually thought this guy would make a good president.

The second clue that foreign policy wasn't exactly at the top of his priority list is that The Messiah's arch rival, of whom he has little affection for (and she him, I might add) was offered the position of United States Secretary of State as a booby prize and Obama has treated the post exactly like he thinks it's a booby prize even though it should be one of the most important and well-considered cabinet positions. Appointing a crooked lawyer with no credible experience who stood by her man while he received Lewinskies in the White House to what should be one of the most powerful and influential positions in the cabinet doesn't exactly speak well of how he feels about the position that represents the most powerful nation on the face of the earth (before he succeeds in destroying this status).

The most recent (and dangerous) clues that The Messiah could care less about our relationships and status in the world community came last week when Tweedle Dee -- The Messiah himself -- announced on the 70th anniversary of the Russian invasion of Poland that Poland and the Czech Republic could take a long walk off a short pier if they thought that the United States of America could be trusted to make good on their promise to defend these two former Soviet Bloc countries with missile defense. Enter Tweedle Dum One National Security adviser James Jones, admitting that Iran is rapidly developing its missile technology:

White House National Security Adviser James L. Jones says President Obama's decision to abandon a long-range missile defense site in Eastern Europe was driven by U.S. intelligence concerns that Iran is further along than previously thought in developing medium-range missiles that could strike Western Europe and the Middle East with nuclear warheads.

"We think they are heading toward weaponiz[ing] these missiles, which obviously we want to dissuade them from doing," the retired four-star Marine general told The Washington Times, explaining why U.S. officials dramatically shifted from years of focus on guarding against longer-range intercontinental ballistic missiles (ICBMs).

Gen. Jones also acknowledged that the policy shift announced on Thursday will pay "an ancillary benefit" to U.S. efforts to improve relations with Moscow, taking issue with a statement by White House press secretary Robert Gibbs that the change was "not about Russia."

Makes perfect sense to me: Iran is rapidly developing the capability to nuke Europe so let's pull our plans to put missile defense in Europe. With all due respect to General Jones, God knows how he got to be a four-star Marine general if he actually believes this. This is a bright shining example of the kind of twisted liberal illogic that eventually it will take another rational conservative like Ronald Reagan to get us out of -- if we can outlast the foolish boy president and his destructive policies. The object here is to kiss Iran's ass in hopes of getting them not to nuke Europe or Israel after they develop the nuke that we haven't had any success in getting them to stop building by kissing their asses with the added benefit of getting to kiss the ass of another of our enemies -- Russia -- while simultaneously pissing off our allies Poland and the Czechs and .... Israel who one of The Messiah's trusted advisers -- Tweedle Dum Two Zbigniew Brzeznski -- thinks we should stop from defending itself by shooting its planes out of the sky as it attempts to do what we should have done -- take out Iran's nuclear capabilities:

In a little noticed interview with the Daily Beast (presumably little noticed because serious people don't read the Daily Beast), Zbigniew Brzezinski suggests that Barack Obama do more than just refuse to support an Israeli strike on Iran's nuclear sites -- the American president must give the order to shoot down Israeli aircraft as they cross Iraqi airspace:
DB: How aggressive can Obama be in insisting to the Israelis that a military strike might be in America’s worst interest?
Brzezinski: We are not exactly impotent little babies. They have to fly over our airspace in Iraq. Are we just going to sit there and watch?
DB: What if they fly over anyway?
Brzezinski: Well, we have to be serious about denying them that right. That means a denial where you aren’t just saying it. If they fly over, you go up and confront them. They have the choice of turning back or not. No one wishes for this but it could be a Liberty in reverse.

If you are thinking this is utter insanity, utter insanity is vastly understating the case: This is madness borne of some type of serious mental disorder. We all know that liberalism is a mental disorder. But if plain Jane vanilla liberalism is a mental disorder, this commie leftist sickness is akin to the type of disorder that causes a mother to drown five kids in a bathtub.

Obama Gives the Finger To Poland and the Czech Republic

The Messiah today used the most twisted Orwellian Newspeak to defend his scrapping of fixed missile defense systems for the former Soviet-era states in Eastern Europe:

"This new approach will provide capabilities sooner, build on proven systems and offer greater defenses against the threat of missile attack,"

What "new approach, you may ask? This "new approach":

Under the new plan, the US would initially deploy ships with missile interceptors and in a second phase would field land-based defense systems.

Russian President Dmitry Medvedev hailed the decision, which removed an issue clouding US efforts to enlist Russian support on Afghanistan, Iran and nuclear arms control.

"We value the US president's responsible approach towards implementing our agreements," Medvedev said in an address shown on national television. "I am ready to continue the dialogue."

Critics accused the White House of dangerous weakness.

Senator John McCain, the Republican presidential candidate who lost to Obama in 2008, blasted the move as "seriously misguided" and former US ambassador to the United Nations John Bolton, a leading Bush-era hawk, was scathing.
"It's just unambiguously a bad decision," Bolton said. "Russia and Iran are the big winners. I just think it's a bad day for American national security."

You bet it's a bad day for American national security, just like the guy who should be secretary of state said. And it's little consolation to Poland and the Czechs that The Messiah wants to put a cheaper missile defense system on ships that could be hundreds or thousands of miles away when they are needed to defend them. If we are truly interested in national security and making good on our commitment to defend democracy around the world, why wouldn't we just do both? And a better question is why Russia was even worried about these missile batteries unless they intend to launch missile strikes in Poland or the Czech Republic? An even better question is why in God's name does The Messiah want to kiss the Russian's asses? What possible good can come of it? Here are the answers to these questions, respectively:

* Obama doesn't want to do either: he just uses the bald-faced leftist lie that a cheap ship-based system will make us safer to cover for the fact that he doesn't want to do what we know works: Missile defense of the type we were planning on installing that has been increasing its reliability with every test.

* Russia is rapidly heading down the road back to the old Soviet policies Reagan defeated 20 years ago and communist expasionism is a part of that plan. There is no reason for them to oppose this missile defense unless they have designs on dominating the sovereign nations of Poland and the Czech Republic once again.

* The Messiah wants to kiss Russian butt because it fits with the namby-pamby leftist foreign policy of dissing your friends and talking to your enemies in the hope that if you are really, really, really nice to them that they'll be really, really, really nice to you. This doesn't work, it has never worked, Russian has never given up the old Soviet desire to "bury us" and having the Russian president say good things about us is a bad thing. They are laughing their asses off at our weakness right now.

* No good can come of this. The world is a more peaceful and safer place when the United States is strong and makes it known that we will defend democracy around the world. We use our strength for good unlike any other country in the world and if we're not defending democracy, democracy will die. The Obama foreign policy doctrine is even more dangerous than the Clinton foreign policy doctrine that brought us the last worst terrorist attack on our soil in the history of our country. God knows what Obama's foolish foreign policy will bring.

Lefty Feingold (and other lefties) Join Republicans in Oposition to Commie Czars

Commie Lib Wisconsin Senator Russ Feingold has sent a letter to The Messiah asking him to detail the roles and responsibilities of all those Commie Czars:

Democratic Sen. Russ Feingold of Wisconsin joined the anti-czar chorus Wednesday, asking Obama to detail the roles and responsibilities of all of the czars in his administration and to explain why he believes the use of czars is consistent with the Senate’s constitutional power to offer advice and consent on top-level executive branch officials.

“To the extent that this undercuts that role and people are put in the place of Cabinet people and really are the key authorities and you can’t question them, that’s something worth talking about,” Feingold said. “I think it’s a fair point.”

Feingold says he doesn’t know if there are any constitutional violations, but he suggested that he may hold an oversight hearing on the matter.

Although the czar charge has come mostly from the right, Feingold isn’t the only Democrat to voice concerns about the issue.

Sen. Dianne Feinstein said in an interview Wednesday that there needs to be better Senate oversight, although she was quick to add that some czar critics have incorrectly labeled a number of Senate-confirmed administration officials as White House czars.

If Commie Russ doesn't know if there are any Constitutional violations then he better borrow a copy of the U.S. Constitution from a conservative and read it. We know he doesn't have much use for the Constitution ordinarily, but I bet he can't find anything in there that authorizes an unaccountable shadow government to be put in place without the advice and consent of the Senate comprised mainly of leftist wackos who have among other things declared their undying affection for Fidel Castro and Hugo Chavez, called Republicans assholes and advocated the kind of population control they have in Communist China.

The fact is that most of the cabinet secretaries -- the most corrupt and meddling first lady of the 20th Century, Tiller the baby killer's favorite governor, the lapdog at defense, Tim Tax Cheat Geithner et. al. -- are bad enough, even though most of them are just for show. After all, when's the last time Mrs. Bill Clinton did anything important in her role as secretary of state? And the only thing Kathleen Sebelius is good at is standing next to Obama at press conferences looking like the perfect old hag. But the folks who really reflect The Messiah's ideology are the czars and Feingold is right: We need to know just what the hell these folks are doing and what the extent of their authority is.

By now he's pretty clear on the fact that I don't like him none too much. At least Harkin didn't vote to support the child-whoring pimp assistance program run by at least four ACORN offices.

These folks need to hear from you regardless of whether or not they are from your state. When one senator votes to support child prostitution, it taints the entire senate and makes the United States of America look foolish (this Congress and this Administration are good at that, aren't they?).

Folks that might be inclined to write these idiots and tell them what they think are generally smart enough to know exactly what they want to say, but telling them that sanctioning child prostitution by voting to continue to fund a group that wanted to provide funds for the purchase of a brothel with our tax dollars is nearly as bad as the act itself and they should be ashamed would be a good start.

As the Senate votes overwhelmingly to eliminate government funding to ACORN, still the lefty Obama media is dead silent on the issue of proven ACORN corruption. Fox News reported this morning that in the last week there has been but one mention each on CBS, NBC and ABC.

And still the scandal grows.

As if these ACORN workers in three locations weren't stupid enough to be taken in by the most unlikely looking "pimp" and "prostitute" in world history, apparently Glenn Beck will reveal a fourth tape that is purported to be more damning that the other three.

Here's a question I'd like to have answered: Has anyone asked The Family Guy Robert Gibbs if The Messiah has any comment about the rampant corruption going on at his former employer? Presumably, The Messiah would have been in the position of having to defend the practice of advising pimps and prostitutes on how to set up teen sex rings that fly under the IRS's radar had this occurred just a few short years ago. Yet no one has asked for a comment. I know Fox News would have had it if a comment had been made but I haven't seen it.

There are seven senators who voted to continue funding this type of corruption and I'm sure they'd like to hear from all of us. I'll put their names and contact info up later today.

Census Bureau Drops ACORN

Apparently advising "clients" on how to set up a prostitution business that will fly under the IRS's radar while claiming the illegal minor sex slaves as "dependents" was just a little too much for even the Obama Census Bureau. They've fired ACORN as a contractor for the 2010 census:

The Census Bureau on Friday severed its ties with ACORN, a community organization that has been hit with Republican accusations of voter-registration fraud.

"We do not come to this decision lightly," Census Director Robert Groves wrote in a letter to ACORN, which was obtained by the Associated Press.

I'm sure you don't Mr. Groves. I mean, how are you going to break this to the ACORN Corporate Lawyer In Chief Barack Obama? I wonder if the community organizer come president of the frickin' United States of America will have any more to say about the blatantly illegal and perverted actions of his ACORN colleagues than he did about the resignation of his buddy the Communist Van Jones who thinks Republicans are assholes and presumably thinks rational conservatives are something more than assholes. Don't bet on it. And don't bet that the leftist Obama sycophants at NBC, CBS, ABC and CNN will ask their Messiah about it either.

In splitting with ACORN, Mr. Groves sought to tamp down Republican concerns and negative publicity that the partnership would taint the 2010 head count.

Taint the headcount, Mr. Groves? Whatever gave you that idea? Couldn't be that it's a good bet that the group that was responsible for 90% of the documented cases of voter fraud in the 2008 election might also be planning to tamper with the census?

"It is clear that ACORN's affiliation with the 2010 census promotion has caused sufficient concern in the general public, has indeed become a distraction from our mission, and may even become a discouragement to public cooperation, negatively impacting 2010 census efforts," Mr. Groves wrote.

I wasn't encouraged to cooperate with the Obama census bureau in the first place Mr. Groves but even less encouraged when I knew ACORN was going to be involved. So I guess that puts me back at just generally not likely to cooperate with the census takers and not vehemently opposed to cooperating. After all, until they are caught aiding and abetting child prostitution rings Americorps will still be involved in the census.

Thank God for two young conservative activists James O'Keefe and Hannah Giles -- 25 and 20 years old respectively -- for their courageous journalism. You won't hear about this on the mainstream media -- HELLO 60 Minutes or John Quinones -- because it doesn't fit their agenda. 60 minutes will continue to do ridiculous "exposes" on things like Darth Vader Cheney's ties to the "torture" of terrorists and Quinones will continue to do actual entrapment stories that attempt to trick people to see how they react to ridiculous scenarios like whether or not white people will render aid to a half-Black, half-Hispanic lesbo feminazi hermaphrodite that appears to be lying in a pool of blood on the sidewalk.

Now that this corruption has been laid bare for all the world to see, it's time to investigate the crime syndicate that is ACORN -- and its ties to its most famous alumnus. I'll bet there's a tale of corruption there that could bring down the communist thug who sits in the Oval Office. Hangin' with the Commies on Labor Day

That's what The Messiah's going to be doing: Winging his way -- on the taxpayer dollar -- to an AFL-CIO picnic in Cincinnati, Ohio. Yes, The Messiah is on the presidential election payback tour, giving thanks to unions for the hundreds of millions of dollars they gave to get him elected and the tens of millions they are still spending to lobby congress in support of The Messiah's agenda.

While the AFL-CIO web site expounds ad nauseum about the wonderful things unions -- particularly the AFL-CIO -- do for "workers", the facts are that Labor Day 2009 finds union membership at it's lowest level ever, mainly due to the fact that "workers" are waking up to the fact that they aren't getting a whole hell of a lot for the $25-$100 or more they pay a month in union dues.

If they aren't getting anything out of the $300-$1200+ a year they pay in union dues, the unions sure are. UnionFacts.com reports that AFL-CIO President John Sweeney makes nearly $300,000 a year in salary to say nothing of bonuses and other perks, all paid $25 at a time from the dues of people making around one tenth as much. And there are nine other people in the AFL-CIO leadership that make salaries of at least $159,000 a year and more. These numbers are probably higher because UnionFacts.org gets the information government-required filings that are usually a couple years old.

What do the "workers" get for this extravagant payroll? Well, ask any United Auto Workers worker (or former worker) what the UAW's extravagant payroll got them. For some of them, it got them fired, for others it got their pay and benefits cut. For retirees, it got uncertainty out of what was supposed to be a rock-solid retirement. For everyone affiliated with General Motors and Chrysler, the unions drove these companies into the arms of the federal government making everyone from the Obama-installed CEO to the line worker essentially a postal worker that makes cars.

But we were talking about the AFL-CIO weren't we? Well those folks haven't fared any better. Unemployment is running as high now than it was the last time a solid conservative had to step in to the presidency to bail out another liberal idiot and his failed economic policies. The AFL-CIO supports the Employee Free Choice Act which is intended to eliminate choice and force employees to become "workers" in unions before they even realize what is going on. The AFL-CIO are also huge backers of Obamacare, which is now apparently a plan to transform health care as we know it into crappy government health care that some Obama staffers are feverishly writing in two days so The Messiah has something to talk about on Wednesday other than the crappy House bill. I wonder how most AFL-CIO "workers" would like to trade the actual health insurance they have now for the government crap John Sweeney supports?

The simple fact of the matter is that unions are a drain on the resources of companies and add no value to the "worker's" bottom line or the companies bottom line. The HR departments of some companies spend half their time dealing with "grievances" involving minor issues like discipline or time off -- time that could be better spent servicing employees on a one-on-one basis to improve the quality of their employment. Unions focus on seniority rather than incentives for pay for performance. You can do the crappiest job in the world and as long as you were the first man standing, you're going to get the big bucks, regardless of the quality of your work. Also, if you happen to be a union worker who is "downsized" or laid off, as many have been these days, and you have to go out and look for work in the 85+% of companies that aren't union companies, it's highly likely that your inflated wages and limited skills in your old position may render you utterly unemployable at a competitive wage. For example, in a typical union shop, like Maytag which used to be headquartered just a few miles east of here before the UAW bankrupted it, maintenance mechanics did one thing. You worked on mechanical, electrical, plumbing, or welding etc. and got paid the big bucks to do that one job. If you were an electrician and got out to the job only to find that it required a mechanic, you called the mechanic and stood there while he came out to the line and fixed it -- an utterly unsustainable arrangement and the reason Maytag no longer exists. When Maytag closed and these folks were canned, they found that other more profitable companies required more skills for less money. If all you could to was weld and Maytag paid you $25 an hour to do it, you were of no use to most employers who required you to know a little of everything and paid you $7-$8 less an hour to do it.

Of course, The Messiah and his commie-lib union cronies won't be mentioning declining union membership and Big Labor's manifold failures over the last 40 years that have left its "workers" a whole lot lighter in the wallet for having to pay the fat-cat union bosses salaries and benefits and no better off personally than they would be -- in many cases less -- than without union representation. They probably won't be mentioning their bold attempt to increase union membership and rob employees of choice via the "Employee Free Choice Act". Obama will lie about how the economy is getting better because we're still losing jobs but not as many. And then there will be the lie about the wonderful things Big Labor has done for its "workers" lately.

So happy Labor Day union folks and enjoy the fruits of your labor while you can. It won't be long before increasing taxes and worthless dues paid to worthless fat-cat labor bosses will be sucking up all the money you use for the leisure activities you pursue on Labor Day and every other holiday.

Health Care (Insurance?) Reform: The Third Time's Still Crap

First, it was the House bill -- HR3200, which would have been passed and on its way to the Senate if Pelosi, Obama and Harry Reid had their way. Then we heard that the Senate had a bill and six senators -- including three Republicans, one of them a doddering old fool from Iowa -- were working feverishly to compromise our liberties away. Now, apparently, the Messiah's administration is working on their own bill for The Messiah to tout when he gives his second joint session speech on health care in six weeks.

On Fox News Sunday today, Chris Wallace was reporting that The Administration of the Exalted Messiah will have answers to every question about health care reform, health insurance reform or whatever they decide to call it in the 82nd reinvention of the reason we need to "transform" the best health care system in the world into some kind of crappy hybrid of the Canadian, British and Cuban health care systems.

What it boils down to is this: Like all of us rational folks have been saying for the last 16 years -- since back when the Clinton syndicate tried to wreck health care: This has nothing to do with health care and everything to do with control. We'll whip up a plan in several months, a couple weeks, hell, we'll whip up a plan overnight if we need to. Public option, no public option, a trigger, death panels, no death panels, whatever the hell it takes to get the slimy Blue Dogs and a few Rinos on board, that's what we'll do, by God. Because it's about control and it's about usurping our liberties at any cost. If they control our health care, they control our lives and that's the goal.

The Messiah's communist, racist "green jobs czar" has resigned.

WASHINGTON—President Barack Obama's environmental adviser Van Jones, who became embroiled in a controversy over past inflammatory statements, has resigned his White House job after what he calls a "vicious smear campaign against me." The resignation, announced early Sunday, came as Obama is working to regain his footing in the contentious health care debate.
Jones, an administration official specializing in environmentally friendly "green jobs" with the White House Council on Environmental Quality was linked to efforts suggesting a government role in the 2001 terror attacks and to derogatory comments about Republicans.

As you might have guessed, the rest of this story is similarly misleading.

It's no wonder normal people can't figure out what's going on these days because you have to read every news story two and three times to try to get past the pro-Obama bias. In this case, the "vicious smear campaign" against Jones consisted of telling the truth about who he is and what he does. The notion that Jones was being "smeared" is as ridiculous as the notion that we are going to revive our economy by spurning the three tried and true sources of the energy to power it -- coal, gas and nuclear power -- and spur the economy back to rampant prosperity by focusing on "environmental friendly green jobs" whatever the hell those are.

Jones was and is a communist. He signed on to the wacko lefty 9/11 truther movement. He claims that white people are dumping environmental pollutants into Black neighborhoods. And he called Republicans a-holes. And all this is just the beginning. He's gone now and good riddance to bad commie.

Just Who Are the Astroturf Protesters?

It appears that the lefties are the "Astroturf" protesters. Check out this video from Fox News that has been circulating for the last couple of days. Apparently, this guy is from HealthcareNow!, and is quite obviously training the drone mob to mindlessly shout out his pet slogan whenever a rational person attempting to exercise their free speech rights tries to speak up.

Does this surprise anyone? It certainly doesn't surprise those of us who have been turning up at health care town halls completely on our own with our own signs and our own questions about turning 1/7 of the entire economy over to a bunch of bureaucrats who can't even run the smaller health care programs they are in charge of now.

When I went to my first town hall last month -- Tom Harkin's town hall in "the hood", supposedly friendly territory for Harkin -- there were four of us out on the sidewalk with signs and 90% of the people inside were as opposed to government-run health care as we were. At Chuck Grassley's town hall a week or so later, a good 80% of us had assembled, through grassroots networking and entirely on our own, to oppose government-run health care. By the time the last Friday of the Iowa State Fair rolled around, the Astroturf support of Obamacare had begun to surface. Despite a widely-circulated email encouraging hundreds of people to show up in support of government-run health care and even buses to bring them from better than a hundred miles away, they got 30 drones with pre-printed MoveOn signs to our dozen opponents assembled entirely on our own with out own signs. By the time Leonard Boswell had his town hall a week or so later, MoveOn, SEIU, AFL-CIO, HealthcareNOW! and Obama's propaganda outfit Organizing for America, managed to bus in hundreds of Astroturfers and outnumber the citizen opponents 3 to one. The evidence of this is in the fact that although there were 500 people, the parking lot was barely full. I would imagine that most of the cars came from the hundred or so os us rational opponents who opposed Obamacare.

This isn't all. Every one of the Obamacare opponents who show up are passionate about their cause. They all come ready to ask questions and challenge the bureaurcrats that want to "transform" the best health care system in the world into the worst. They come armed with binders filled with HR3200, they've read it and they know what's in it better than the politician they came to challenge. They know when they are being lied to which is why you hear boos when lefty politicians like Leonard Bsowell mumble under their breath that he thinks Obamacare is Constitutional. The drones on the other hand don't have much to say. They show up, an organizer hands them a pre-printed sign and they sit. Occasionally, they get up and whine and cry about their individual health care situation. But there is no passion from most of them. Typical of someone who is stupid enough to believe the lies of a liberal politician, they are passionless drones: "Mine is not to question why, mine is just to blindly do as the HealthcareNOW! Astroturf organizer tells me." Just like a good little commie drone.

The Messiah Receives Another Communist Endorsement

This endorsement is from the Big Kahuna -- the guy who took his island country from a thriving democracy to abject poverty in the space of ten short years using Communism and only had to slaughter tens of thousands of dissidents to do it. Yes, we're talking about Fidel Castro:

HAVANA (Reuters) - President Barack Obama is trying to make positive changes in the United States, but is being fought at every turn by right-wingers who hate him because he is black, former Cuban leader Fidel Castro said on Tuesday.
In an unusually conciliatory column in the state-run media, Castro said Obama had inherited many problems from his predecessor, George W. Bush, and was trying to resolve them. But the "powerful extreme right won't be happy with anything that diminishes their prerogatives in the slightest way."
Obama does not want to change the U.S. political and economic system, but "in spite of that, the extreme right hates him for being African-American and fights what the president does to improve the deteriorated image of that country," Castro wrote.
"I don't have the slightest doubt that the racist right will do everything possible to wear him down, blocking his program to get him out of the game one way or another, at the least political cost," he said.

Back in July, we reported that Sam Webb, the head of the Communist Party USA gave the fledgling Obama Administration high marks. But this endorsement is nothing compared to the endorsement of a "leader" who has been using Communism to destroy his country for 50 years now. And destroy it he did. Now he praises The Messiah for making "positive changes" (presumably nationalization of banks and auto companies, the attempts to cripple our economy with confiscatory taxes on common atmospheric gasses and the wholesale destruction of the best health care system in the world among many other things).

Isn't it funny how the crusty old communist's rhetoric regarding conservative objections to the Obama agenda mirrors that of the radical lefties in Washington? In fact, California Congresswoman Diane Watson said almost exactly the same thing as Castro did about the folks who have legitimate objections to the radical Obama agenda. Neither one of them having the facts, reason or logic on their side, they result to smear tactics to attempt to distract people from the fact that they have no facts, are completely unreasonable and utterly illogical. Watson said Castro was one of the most brilliant leaders she ever met and praised his health care system -- you know the health care system that wasn't good enough to treat Castro's cancer.

This whole thing has gone from being funny to being deadly serious. First we have a neutered communist nut from the United States -- virtually powerless -- proclaiming his love for Obama. Now we have a guy who has 50 years of experience in the communist oppression business praising Obama. Most of us aren't old enough to remember that Cuba was every bit the thriving democracy that we were in the 50s. Castro's revolution turned it in to a poverty-ridden slime hole where citizens are lucky to have toilet paper much less decent health care. And this change happened in a decade or less -- the blink of an eye in the annals of world history. In more modern times, Catro's protege' is doing this same thing in Venezuela. Juxtapose the high praise communists have for Obama with the history Castro and Chavez have of turning thriving democracies into crap in the blink of an eye and the fact that Obama has 44 unaccountable "czars" -- many of them with communist leanings -- infesting the White House. Throw in the fact that Obama has nationalized banks and car companies, and has designs on the nationalization of health care and the destruction of industry with ridiculous taxes on common atmospheric gasses and it's down right scary.

There were plenty of dissenters when Castro hijacked Cuba's democracy and Castro slaughtered or imprisoned the ones who didn't escape. There are plenty of dissenters in Venezuela and they are being systematically eliminated. One of Obama's "czars" -- Van Jones -- has praised Hugo Chavez's efforts to silence the media and take over business. If we don't fight hard enough we could be talking 50 years from now about the thriving democracy that WAS the United States of America.

This link, to Rick Moran's piece on the American Thinker blog, is just one of hundreds that are out there now, just a couple of days after Teddy is in the ground, that tell about Kennedy's subversive, treasonous plot to work with a brutal communist regime to undermine one of the most successful presidencies in American history. Of course we know how well this worked: Reagan wiped the floor with "Fritz" Mondale in one of the worst election losses of the 20th Century.

What does this tell us? It tells us that to be a liberal Democrat icon, you need only be a drunk, a philanderer, a lousy driver, a non-convicted man (woman?) slaughterer, wrong about everything from war and peace to the economy to health care to education to global warming and a traitor to boot. And in Kennedy's case, it just so happened that he was all of the above.

Although this is par for the course for any liberal Democrat hero, it does raise more than a few questions. First of all, where was the press on this when it first came out in 1992? Secondly, was there no one in the Democrat Party or on Kennedy's staff that realized the gravity of what Kennedy did here? Third, if this were indeed untrue, why wouldn't Kennedy's staff deny it and produce proof of the facts rather than claiming the memo was "misinterpreted"? Finally, why did this lie dormant for nearly 18 years only to come out when the treasonous scumbag was already dead? That last question is a silly one. We know exactly why this was swept under the rug until the Liberal Lyin' of the Senate died: Because he was the Liberal Lyin' of the Senate. And liberals can do no wrong.

The Unvarnished Truth About the Life and Death of the Liberal Lyin' of the Senate

As I sit watching Fox News with my laptop at the kitchen table this morning, I know it won't be long before I'll have to switch over to the only other channel I ever watch for anything other than news -- HGTV. No, Geraldo Rivera isn’t going to be showing his weaselly face on Fox and Friends this morning. But as they've been saying all morning, they will soon be cutting away from regular programming -- my favorite Saturday business shows -- to cover the funeral of Edward M. Kennedy. Let the liberals and the Washington elite have their nauseating tributes to the Liberal Lyin' of the Senate. I won't be participating, even as a passive observer on the telly.

Ted Kennedy's death is truly a tragedy for a family that has a legacy of tragedy. All of us will have the survivors of the Kennedy clan in our prayers as they deal with the death of their patriarch. But it doesn't honor Ted Kennedy's memory and, more importantly, the truth of the impact of his decades in the Senate on all of us, to do as the media and all the lefties have been and will be doing for weeks after the funeral tributes are over: Build up his character and legacy with utter BS and make him the martyr for the cause of reviving the failing attempt to foist government-run and controlled health care on all of us.

We all know that liberalism -- the cause to which Ted Kennedy allegedly dedicated his career -- is a lie. And because it is a lie, so will be the liberal eulogies of the Liberal Lyin' of the Senate. So let's begin by setting the record straight about Ted Kennedy's life.

All men have their failings, but in my humble opinion the God's honest truth about Teddy was that he was an unexceptional man in a family of exceptional men who distinguished himself only by being the last man standing in the Kennedy clan -- and one of the longest-standing men in the U.S. Senate. In addition to sharing the penchant for being a philanderer with the other Kennedy men, Ted had an affection for bathing his liver in alcohol for the better part of 50 years. As such, his family's wealth and station was the only thing that stood between Ted and a cardboard box under a freeway overpass. As a Kennedy in Massachusetts, winning your brother's senate seat after he was elected president and garnering a reputation as the most liberal senator in one of the most liberal states is hardly difficult. Because as sad a fact as it may be, it doesn't take a whole lot of ambition or talent to be a rich liberal in Massachusetts and warm a seat in the U.S. Senate for 47 years as long as the rest of the rich liberals in Massachusetts support you.

It's not really fair to say that Ted Kennedy merely warmed a seat in the senate for nearly as long as I've been alive. It's more accurate to say that he did more damage to the cause of freedom and liberty than any senator who came before him and, because Barack Obama was elected president, probably for more than at least a couple decades into the future. Why is this? Because Ted Kennedy was the driving force behind nearly every social program since he was elected to the Senate and these programs have systematically created a culture of entitlement, dependence and helplessness in nearly three generations of Americans while bankrupting the U.S. Treasury and unconstitutionally enslaving the rest of us as servants to the dependent class. All of this while doing absolutely nothing to reduce the number of dependent Americans or alleviate the root cause of this dependence.

The first great welfare program, Social Security, which pre-dated Kennedy's tenure in the Senate, will be bankrupt with tens of trillions in unfunded liabilities by the middle of this century. To build on this success, Kennedy was a driving force behind Johnson's War on Poverty, which we lost by any objective measure: Housing projects constructed as "compassionate" low income housing became festering war zones of crime, drugs and gangs within a decade of their construction and many were subsequently razed: Housing subsidies and food stamps, given freely with nothing required in return bred generations of young single parent, low-income American families that are completely disconnected from the American dream and can see no investment in their future and therefore no hope of improving their station in life: Medicaid, like Social Security, encumbered with unsustainable liabilities far into the future, has created a dishonest "contract" with seniors whereby Americans who have paid into these programs expecting a return on their "investment" find that they must nearly bankrupt themselves and give up everything they worked for in life in order to receive a cramped room in a nursing home which they share with another similarly-situated senior. These and other programs pushed aggressively by Ted Kennedy in his 47-year career, are what liberals tout as "compassion" for the least among us when what they are is a monumental lie -- a lie that is a monument to the life's work of the Liberal Lyin' of the Senate.

Meanwhile back in moderate to conservative middle-class America for the last 47 years, folks have been busting their asses under the ever-increasing weight of the taxes "great" liberal elder statesmen such as Kennedy deem necessary to support the bloated welfare state they created. Kennedy's own brother knew this welfare-statist mentality was unsustainable. Jack Kennedy's tax cuts along with Ronald Reagan and George W. Bush's tax cuts were the only relief from Ted Kennedy's unrelenting assault on the middle-class taxpayer. This unconstitutional assault on the taxpayer has rendered many of the folks paying the bills incapable of escaping government dependence in their old age because it has stolen from them the capital they needed to provide for their own self-sufficiency.

To the legacy of debt and dependence which was the life's work of Teddy Kennedy, Barack Obama, with the hearty approval of the Liberal Lyin' of the Senate, has added another $9+ trillion in debt -- a legacy of enslavement to the government that will be passed on to our kids and grand kids. To top it all off, Obama and the rest of the liberals in the House and Senate have begun the process of turning Ted Kennedy's death into an all-out orgy in support of another multi-trillion dollar plan to give us the type of health care Canada and Great Britain are infamous for. In life and in death, Ted Kennedy got the absolutely best health care the world has to offer -- health care that is renowned throughout the world, health care that any one of us can get right now, regardless of our race, sex, income, social status, insurance or ability to pay. This outstanding health care gave him and his family another full year of life he might not have had. In its place and in the name of their vaunted Liberal Lyin', they want to give us a bloated government-controlled health care plan complete with a "Health Care Choices Commissioner", a "public plan" that virtually guarantees the elimination of all private plans, waiting lists, rationing, denial of treatment for elderly Americans with brain tumors or other terminal ailments and mandatory end of life care counseling for everyone over the age of 65.

If this assessment of the career and legacy of the Liberal Lyin’ of the Senate seems a little harsh to you, consider the ever-increasing tax burden you pay to support a bloated welfare state that contributes little or nothing to your family’s well-being while making it more difficult for you to provide for that family. Think of the fight of our lives that we are engaging in right now to keep politicians like Kennedy from destroying the best health care system in the world and piling even more tax debt on us, our kids and grandkids. Pray for the Kennedy family as they deal with their loss. And thank God that there is one less liberal in the Senate to help perpetuate the downward spiral of debt and dependence we find ourselves in. While Ted Kennedy's death is a tragic event for a family marked with a long history of tragedy, the loss of his presence in the U.S. Senate is nothing to mourn.

Cronyism Is Business As Usual--But Isn't Nepotism Illegal?

Being too adept a student of politics may yet prove the undoing of Barack Obama. On June 17, the White House announced the members of the President's Commission on White House Fellowships. Boring as it sounds, it may harbor the smoking gun that proves the president a criminal.

You may not know this, but a lot of Chicago government is what might be called a "family affair." The Daley family, of course, is the most famous and obvious example. Richard J. Daley (known to friend and foe alike as "Boss") ruled the city for many years, and was eventually succeeded by his son, the current Mayor, Richard M. Daley (known to many as "Ritchie.")

And there's Rod Blagojevich (remember him?) He comes to power through his wife, Patty Mell, whose Daddy, Richard,was a Chicago alderman who got his son-in-law a job with another alderman, Ed Vrdolyak. From there, Rod got a job under then states-attorney Richard M. Daley (current mayor and former employer of Michelle Obama, Valerie Jarrett, Rahm Emanuel, David Axelrod, Arne Duncan, and many more who have become familiar names in the past seven months). Eventually, his father-in-law backed Rod to become a state representative, congressman, and governor of Illinois.

You see, in Chicago, it's all about family and friends. Though not a "natural born" Chicagoan, West Coast transplant Barack Obama had no problem adapting to the culture of clout--and now he's brought it to the White House.

You may have noticed that there are an almost absurd number of Chicagoans distributed throughout the administration. Let's look now at a little-noticed set of appointments: the members of the Presidential Commission on White House Fellowships.

Sure, it's a special kind of coziness that lets members of the media have a presidential appointment. Here we have both NPR and NBC represented, through John Hockenberry and Tom Brokaw. But there is personal coziness here, as well.

For example, we have Brain Traubert. Who's he?

Well, he just happens to be (by total coincidence, I'm sure) the husband of Penny Pritzker, who (you may have missed this moment) was about to be nominated by President Obama to be Secretary of Commerce, but was skipped at the last minute because it was thought that her vast holdings, particularly her ownership of Hyatt Hotels, might be a stumbling block to confirmation. There was also the slight problem of her presiding over the collapse of Chicago's Superior Bank during the Savings and Loan scandal. Pritzker was the person who introduced Barack Obama to her friend George Soros, and was reportedly the woman who told the state Senator to make his famous speech against the Iraq War.

Now that you know who Traubert is, I'll tell you who the Director of the program, Cindy S. Moelis, is.

Moelis is a very close friend of Michelle Obama. They worked together in Mayor Daley's office, and Cindy served on the Board when Michelle founded Public Allies the model organization for our new national volunteerism infrastructure, as outlined in the GIVE/SERVE Act. She's also the Executive Director of the Pritzker Traubert Family Foundation (doesn't that sound familiar?) And her husband works for Transportation Secretary and fellow Illinois friend of Barack (despite being a Republican), Ray LaHood.

Then there's Eleanor Kaye Wilson, reportedly the Obama children's godmother, and with whom they often stayed during the campaign. Babysitting bonus, anyone?

And the crony that no one seems to have spotted, Deborah Harmon, just happens to be on the Board of the Sidwell Friends School--the school that Obama's children both attend.

Speaking of schools, here's an interesting coincidence. Pierre Omidyar, founder of ebay, serves as a trustee of The Punahou School--the elite prep school Obama went to (any chance he could get us the President's school records? No one else can, apparently.)

But all that is just garden-variety political horse trading. Politicians do it all the time. And Chicago politicians have it down to a science.

But the crowning achievement in undeserved appointing is Maya Soetoro-Ng. Against this array of people who have started foundations, or been CEOs, or spent decades in the media--against this backdrop we have little Sister Maya. What are her achievements?

Maya Soetoro-Ng, PhD. has taught and developed Humanities curriculum in public and private schools in New York and Hawaii for fifteen years. She also taught Multicultural Education and Educational Theory at the University of Hawaii’s College of Education. In 2007 and 2008, she campaigned across more than a dozen states for her brother, President Barack Obama. Her children’s book Ladder to the Moon will be published in the winter, and she is currently working on a book about high school Peace Education.

So...she's taught in two states, wrote one as yet unpublished children's book and is working on another, and campaigned for her brother.

Move over, Caroline Kennedy.

The Sun-Times' Lynn Sweet noticed it, but let it go. Even the Huffington Post had an article poking a little bit at the Commission. But nothing too serious. And everyone let it float away.

And why not? It's a presidential commission, meets a few times a year to make decisions, and probably has no compensation.

Perhaps true. But according to the Chicago model, the ability to grant a favor is much more valuable an asset than the ability to procure one. A White House Fellowship is a precious and coveted prize. It carries with it a salary of $100,000, top security clearance, the ability to move within the corridors of power and meet a vast array of powerful politicians, and the promise of a brilliant and influential future.

The ability to determine who gets those plum positions is what Chicago pols call "clout."

So, yes, it might be important to watch who you are putting on a Commission like this. As noted, at the time, there was some mention that Obama had put a few friends and his sister on the Commission. The question no one bothered to ask, though, was this: is it legal?

If the issue was raised at all, tangentially to something else, it was quickly noted that, of course, Bobby Kennedy was the Attorney General, so it must be legal.

But, wait. Let's not turn away so quickly.

Yes, Bobby Kennedy did serve as the Attorney General for his brother, President John F. Kennedy. But, try to remember. What was the next president's relationship like with that Attorney General? Hmm. Not good. Is it possible that "Well, Jack appointed Bobby" isn't really a good defense to straight-up nepotism?

As it turns out, yes, it is possible.

As a matter of fact, there's a pretty straightforward part of the U.S. Code that addresses this (not coincidentally passed in 1967). It reads as follows:

(b) A public official may not appoint, employ, promote, advance, or advocate for appointment, employment, promotion, or advancement,in or to a civilian position in the agency in which he is serving or over which he exercises jurisdiction or control any individual who is a relative of the public official. An individual may not be appointed, employed, promoted, or advanced in or to a civilian position in an agency if such appointment, employment, promotion, or advancement has been advocated by a public official, serving in or exercising jurisdiction or control over the agency, who is a relative of the individual.

Hmm.

But would that apply to the president? And Maya Soetoro-Ng is only his half-sister, right? So perhaps the law doesn't apply.

But this is how "public official" is defined:

(2) "public official" means an officer (including the President and a Member of Congress)....

That seems to answer that.

And "relative" means:

an individual who is related to the public official as father, mother, son, daughter, brother, sister, uncle, aunt, first cousin, nephew, niece, husband, wife, father-in-law, mother-in-law, son-in-law, daughter-in-law, brother-in-law, sister-in-law, stepfather, stepmother, stepson, stepdaughter, stepbrother, stepsister, half brother, or half sister.

So, it would seem that "half sister" means "half sister." And "public official" means "president." And "may not" means "may not."

Here is a poster you can download from the government itself, from the website of the U.S. Office of Special Counsel. Right there at the bottom of the first column under "federal employees may not" it says simply "engage in nepotism."

At first blush then, the appointment of Maya Soetoro-Ng to this commission--unlike the many appointments to it of cozy friends of the Obamas, which are merely unethical and disturbingly Chicagoan--is actually, truly, to the letter of the law, illegal.

This isn't Daley Machine Chicago, Mr. President. It's the sacred seat of the government of the United States of America. Its rules are found in the Constitution, not made and re-made in the smoke-filled back rooms of Chicago or Springfield.

I'm not a lawyer. I could be missing something. I don't know if there's any actual sanction for violating this law. I just know it's a law, and the President swore an oath to uphold the law of the United States of America.

So, Mr. President, what say you?

Yes folks: Hail the establishment of the High-Value Detainee Interrogation Group (HIG) -- an outfit meant to take the place of all those evil meanies at the CIA who did all those nasty, evil, bad, bad, bad things to the guys who want to see us all dead (otherwise known as Islamic terrorists) to get information out of them. HIG is apparently a multi-agency interrogation group and will be used to attempt to get information out of "high-value" targets -- basically the same thing we already had only different apparently.

Assuming we captured Osama bin Laden tomorrow, we'd first have to figure out who this group reports to because it isn't clear yet according to tonight's news reports. Then, we'd have to transport him from where we found him to where this unit is based and make him beg for mercy using techniques from the Army Field Manual like direct questioning where the interrogator asks the terrorist "direct questions" (Duh!) and "emotional pride" where the interrogator attempts to flatter the terrorist into cooperating by appealing to his ego. This is described as "creating incentives for cooperation". If they want to get really tough with bin Laden, they can give him the silent treatment or they can lie to him in special situations. But stripping him of all his clothes is out of the question.

Feel safer? I know I do.

Conservatives like to call commie lib leaders like The Messiah liberal elitists and with good reason. Good ole' Barry Obama who used to "organize" the disaffected malcontents out of the back of his 1983 Honda Civic and still claims to be looking out for the downtrodden -- you know, those "47 million Americans without health care, the folks who are recruited to stand up at his spontaneous "town hall meetings" and whine about how horrible the American health care system is or how an insurance company screwed them.Yet when he goes on vacation he, like the last commie lib president before him -- William Jefferson Blythe "I did not have sex with that woman, Ms. Lewinsky" Clinton -- tries to get as far away as he can from the disaffected malcontents he claims so much affection for. In this case to a 28-acre estate on Martha's Vineyard rented for $35,000 a week.

Here's a thought for Barry: Since you're so darned concerned about giving the poor health care, why don't you take that $35,000 a week for a couple of weeks and go find a dozen or so poor families that need health care and set up a trust to buy them health insurance. Then you could just head back to the $1.6 million house in Chicago and hang out there for your vaca. Furthermore, every time you're tempted to jet off to NYC for a night on the town, or fly in a pizza chef from Saint Louis or ship a bunch of $100-per-pound beef in from Japan or get your staff started on planning one of those famous Wednesday night parties, why don't you just toss that money in the kitty in the name of "health care for all"? I don't begrudge you a vacation, Barry. Doing more to advance the cause of American socialism in seven months than any president before you managed to do in 4, 8 or even 16 years (not to mention garnering the hearty endorsement of the leader of the Communist Party USA) is hard work. But in an era where you are asking us middle class folks to tighten OUR belts and make sacrifices for the least among us, don't you think a little sacrifice is in order on your part?

Confronting the Drones

I spent a short time Friday afternoon confronting the drones. Drones is not my name for them – it’s a word Mark Levin has coined for the folks who possess a blind, sycophantic adoration for The Messiah and think that all their problems will magically melt away as long as The Messiah, Pelosi and Reid keep us on the non-stop express to Marxism. Drones are the ones that you saw in a trance chanting “yes we can, yes we can, yes we can” during The Messiah’s immaculate campaign. You might remember the female drone that was practically orgasmic the day after The Messiah was elected president because “I won’t have to worry about making my house payment, I won’t have to worry about putting gas in the car.” I wondering how that not worrying about your house payment is going for you now, chicky-poo, seven months after The Messiah assumed the throne? I would imagine that if you’ve been sitting around waiting for The Messiah to make your house payment for the last seven months that you’re probably living in a cardboard box under a bridge right now but I digress.

As you might have guessed, these drones were out protesting for their share of the American welfare pot. Yes, they were agitating for “Health Insurance Reform NOW!” Some of them weren’t up to speed on the change in their Dear Leader’s lingo, because their signs still read “Health Care Reform NOW!” ICAN – the Iowa Citizen’s Action Network (and apparently MoveOn.org according to our local fish wrap vendor the Des Moines Register) who supplied the signs for the drones didn’t understand that the message dujour is supposed to be “health insurance reform”. Health care reform is the old message. It didn’t focus-group well because 85% of Americans are happy with their health care. You’ll recall that previous messages in this campaign to wreck the best health care system in the world have included “we have a health care crisis” which didn’t fly because it’s obvious that we don’t have a health care crisis. Then there was “Americans want health care reform.” This was dumped when it became an indisputable fact that Americans don’t want health care reform. Now it’s "Americans need health care reform" (whether they want it or not.) Then there was the one about the “47 million uninsured” which was toned down when the message got out that the vast majority of these people are either illegal aliens or uninsured by choice. So the prevailing message the drones are told to repeat now is that those evil health insurance companies – you know, those rabid profiteers that make 3% on their dollar – have to be stopped. These particular drones weren’t actually repeating any messages -- they had dutifully accepted the message on the signs their handlers gave them. As such, they spent most of their time staring across at the intelligent people on the east side of the street while they held their signs bought and paid for by MoveOn.org with mostly vacant stares.

There were about ten of us intelligent people carrying our own homemade signs that expressed our own opinions – opinions that have been carefully and thoughtfully developed through extensive research on our own. Kind of funny how when people research and develop their own opinion about this health care plan rather than getting their marching orders from the Dear Leader or one of his front groups they end up opposing a massive government takeover of the health care system. We also were more animated than the other folks. We actually want to engage the opposition in debate on this topic because our great health care and the future prosperity of our kids and grandkids is on the line. We tried to goad the opposition in to debating us like when I told the farmer who shook his “farmers for a public option” sign at me (one of about two homemade signs on the left side of the street) that his farm animals would get better health care than he would if we have a “public option”. But the drones just stared back at us vacantly, holding their signs given to them by their leaders, completely unaware that they were voluntarily surrendering their liberties to an acolyte of the Marxist agitator Saul Alinsky. Just like a bunch of union laborers when the lunch whistle sounds, these drones vanished almost on cue just before 3 PM.

How do I know these drones were part of the type of organized mob they accuse us liberty-loving citizens of being a part of? It’s in the email. Here are some excerpts:

Either this email didn’t get “disseminated far and wide right away” or there simply weren’t enough drones because, despite bussing them in from 150 miles away, there were only about 30 drones holding their ready-made signs. I would assume that if a loosely-organized group of liberty-loving Iowans could get a hold of it, it must have been pretty well distributed. The only thing I can figure is that there just aren’t that many drones out there who want to see their health care system wrecked and the liberty stolen from them.

No Death Panel Yet But They've Already Written the "Death Book"

Much as Obama and the Democrats want to deny that HR3200 contains language establishing a "death panel" the simple fact of the matter is that pages 425-430 spell out mandatory end of life counseling for each and every citizen on Medicare. Turns out that the government already has a blueprint for this type of death counseling. It's called Your Life,Your Choices, Planning for Future Medical Decisions and it was produced over ten years ago by the Veteran's Administration. This "death book" was killed by the Bush administration but revived by the Obama Administration.

This book was intended to guide seniors citizens who fought for our liberty overseas in making end of life choices. Among other things, this book has a questionnaire in it that asks veterans to rate "what makes [their] life worth living" as it relates to numerous physical maladies, mental health issues and situational issues such as living in a nursing home or being a burden to family members. It's clear intent is to guide older people who might not be in the best of health in the direction of making decisions about whether life is worth living.

It's clear that someone in the Obama Administration thought that their was some merit to starting to use this book to "counsel" veterans on end of life care. The obvious question here is was this book revived with the intent of using it as a blueprint for future "death counseling" bureaucracy under the Brave New World of Obamacare. Certainly seems plausible to me.

Secular Heathen-In-Chief Comes to Jesus to Push Health Care

The last church he attended was little more than a front group for an anti-American, racist, hate-monger whose hate speech The Messiah lapped up like an undernourished puppy for 20 years. Now, amidst the wholesale fraud of his "Christianity" the larger fraud of government-run health care that won't be run by the government and the huge, overwhelming fraud of this presidency itself, the Godless heathen in the Oval Office has the audacity to call those of us who dug in to government health care to expose its fraud the ones who are [bearing] false witness:

This is nothing if not a clear indication of just how much trouble The Messiah's pet issue is in that he has to resort to using religion to sell socialist medicine. The "crisis" of the "47 million uninsured" didn't work; demonizing health insurance companies didn't work; now we have a heathen turning to religious morality to sell health care. A heathen who tells us that we must be our brother's keeper even as his brother lives in a mud hut in Africa on $12 a month. A heathen whose lies about a health care reform bill he hasn't even read roll off his tongue in a never-ending stream: You'll be able to keep your doctor and insurance for sure; make that you more than likely will be able to keep your doctor and insurance; it's health care reform, whoops make that "health insurance reform", your taxes won't go up, whoops I guess they may have to; don't pay any attention to that CBO guy, this plan is paid for -- lie after lie after lie after lie.

I guess if there's one thing you can say about The Messiah it's this: Given the lies he's had to tell to sell this plan and the sheer audaciousness of the biggest heathen ever to sit in the Oval Office going to relgious leaders to try to sell this fraud, his gonads must be at least twice the size of those elephant ears he has.

"Cash for Clunkers" Clunks to a Halt

Yes, that nonsensical program called "cash for clunkers" which destroyed hundreds of thousands of perfectly good cars, saddled people who can't afford new cars with car payments and larger insurance payments that they can't afford smack dab in the middle of the worst recession since the last Democrat-induced recession 30 years ago and left car dealers on the hook for millions of dollars in $4500 rebates that the bureaucracy will eventually grind out of the hides of taxpayers to the tune of $3 billion is finally over! Whew!

After seven months of this "don't believe what you see with your own eyes" style of audacious political BS, it's not surprising that the Administration of the Most Exalted Messiah and the lapdog liberal media would be hailing this flop designed by a political appointee barely out of his law school internship as a smashing success when it was in fact an economic disaster that we will be paying for for years to come. How so? Let me count the ways.

First of all, the big-brain bureaucrats in charge of this debacle vastly underestimated the cost of this program by a magnitude of three. We'll be lucky if they do so well as to underestimate the cost of their health care boondoggle by 200% as they did with "cash for clunkers".

Not only did they underestimate the cost of the program by 200%, they underestimated what it would take to administer the program. You'll recall the whole thing completely fell apart within a week. Even after infusing it with 200% more cash, they still haven't been able to get the cash to the dealers who are on the hook for hundreds of millions in rebate vouchers that have yet to be paid. And they say our concerns about a bureaucracy that can't administer a simple cash rebate program being able to run a health care system for 300 million people are "evil mongering". They should have just turned this rebate program over to Best Buy. At least they know how to manage a simple rebate program. And I have no doubt that Best Buy could probably do a better job running a health care system that the federal government can as well.

The next thing this idiotic circle-jerk did was take hundreds of thousands of perfectly serviceable old cars off the road. As a driver of one of these perfectly serviceable old cars -- a 13-year-old Mercury Villager with 177,000 miles on it -- I can tell you that maintaining an older car in good shape is a hell of a lot less expensive than buying a brand new one, regardless of whether you get a $4,500 rebate or not. Many of these perfectly good cars aren't second cars as mine is. They are (or were) the primary mode of transportation for many lower income families, young adults and teens -- people who would be far better off maintaining their old car and driving it than taking on a car payment and a larger insurance payment. But many of them ditched their decent older car and traded up to the car they couldn't afford. As with any commodity, when you reduce the supply the price goes up. Because many of these dealers destroyed the whole car, it will be more expensive to fix the older cars that are left -- particularly the engine and transmission which the dealer has to destroy. No spare engines and transmissions, no spare engine and transmission parts. Duh!

Third, as I previously pointed out, if it took the artificial inflation of the trade-in price of your vehicle to get you out to buy a new car, you couldn't afford the new car in the first place, let alone the increased cost of the insurance on a new car. Watch for a mini boom in car repossessions in a couple of years and an epidemic of people with lapsed car insurance in the next few months. Kind of a Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac of the auto business brought about by a "community reinvestment act" for the auto industry.

Finally, with the end of this ridiculous waste of taxpayer dollars comes the end of the mini boom in car sales. And dealers are still waiting to get their rebates. Isn't liberalism wonderful?

In the Obamethical Universe, Letting a Newborn Die Is a Right, While Disagreeing with the President's Interpretation of Legislation Is A Sin

Let it be known to all who stand in opposition to the president on health care reform: You are now sinners in the hands of an angry President.

On his mysteriously Constitutional lobbying call yesterday to 140,000 religious leaders and others representing 32 denominations, President Obama referred to those arguing against him on the health care issue as "bearing false witness." Considering the fact that he was talking to people for whom that is supposed to be one of the ten most inappropriate behaviors to engage in, that seems rather intemperate for the leader of a nation that the liberals have been screaming for the last eight years is supposed to be secular.

It's rather like the president of Iran telling his Mullahs that his opponent Mousavi is an "infidel" (which he has not, to my knowledge, done, though it would simplify his isolation of Mousavi quite a bit.) It's a totally inappropriate use of language--to those for whom it actually means something--by a powerful leader. That leader, incidentally (Obama, not Ahmedinejad, though these days it's getting hard to tell the difference. Mostly because our own media has colluded with the Administration to ignore the monstrous behavior of the new regime (Iranian, not American) since a few days after it was exciting post-election news. The oppression, suppression, persecution, trials, and tyranny are ongoing, but we are steadfastly ignoring them (again, I'm referring here to Iran.)

Let us remember that the President's claim on a Christian heritage is tenuous, at best. He has no upbringing in even a mainstream Christian denomination, having been raised primarily by his Unitarian grandparents, occasionally by his freethinker mother, and rather haphazardly by not one, but two Muslim fathers (a father and a stepfather, actually.) Though we are given to understand that at least in Indonesia he went to a few religious schools.

At any rate, though we may take at face value Obama's much-ballyhooed claim to have been what conservative religious people generally call "born-again" (though of course he shuns that label) at Trinity United Church of Christ, we do know for a fact that he has never studied theology in any serious professional setting, like a seminary or Bible school, and by his own admission, whatever it was his pastor of twenty years was going on about up front he paid almost no attention to. So, essentially, it can safely be said that the President is not an expert on any religion, Christian or otherwise.

So it seems rather presumptious (not to mention presumptively unconstitutional and rather unethical) for the president of the United States to be offering what appear to have become "his" ministers likely topics for the Sunday sermon. Yet that is exactly what he did. This is the same man who, as a state senator, three times defended the practice of allowing babies to die without medical attention if they managed to survive an attempted abortion.

To pass a law against it, he argued, would "undermine" Roe v. Wade.

I see. But telling Pastors to use their sermons as an oracle for his public policy doesn't "undermine" anything? Like the integrity of the pulpit? Or the "separation of church and state" that the left once held dear?

The Bible doesn't have a lot to say about government-financed health care, no matter how skillfully Obama suggests such a connection (no, Mr. President. Matthew 25 isn't an address to the Roman governor.) But it has a great deal to say about false prophets, bad shepherds, evil kings, and those who distort the word of God.

I would respectfully suggest that the President hang up the phone, put on his flame-retardant gloves, and open the Bible.

White House Snitches Email Address Pulled

The White House's snitches email address, flag@whitehouse.gov, has been pulled as has the page that encourages people to snitch on neighbors that might disagree with the notion that having the government in total command of the one-seventh of the nation's economy is a good thing. Instead of the snitch page, you are instead directed to a page chock full of propaganda videos from supposed "experts" trying to convince the drones that are presently perched on the fence, that socialized medicine is a good thing. Ironically, they call this propaganda a "reality check". After watching the first one, I decided I didn't need to watch any more.

The arguments for government health care from Kavina Patel, who "works with" Valerie Jarrett, one of the 13 unbiased journalists who is now a senior adviser to The Messiah, consisted of regurgitating The Messiah's talking points verbatim with no apparent regard for the fact that Obama talking points do not reality make. But we're apparently just supposed to accept the assertion that you get to keep your insurance and your doctor without question despite the fact that it specifically says on page 16 of HR3200 -- the only game in town at this point -- that you will lose your private insurance and perhaps your doctor as well if there is one iota of change in your plan after the "public option" kicks in. And it also says that most of us will lose our private coverage five years after year one of the "public option". Facts are stubborn things. And reality isn't on the side of these weasels.

What The Other Hand Is Doing

While the nation is busy fighting about whether the President really wants or really, really wants a public option on health care, whether he said "essential" or he didn't, and whether the message from the White House is "consistent," President Obama is fulfilling another campaign promise to some of his biggest fans--the gay rights lobby.

The Justice Department has filed a brief arguing for the repeal of the Defense of Marriage Act--yes, the same DOMA that the Administration fought to preserve in federal court recently in order to preserve the power of the presidency.

This is something the President has been waiting for the right moment to do. This, while all the world is focused like a laser on something else, is apparently the right moment. Since the first shot has not been heard round the world, by the time the case is decided it will come as a complete surprise to the people who should have been working to prevent its inevitable effects.

Get out there and protect marriage in your state Constitution, and press your national legislators to take a position on a Marriage Amendment. Before this case defeats DOMA and the liberal Congress moves to make Same-Sex Unions the equivalent of marriage on a federal level.

It's coming, and you know it. Before you go out to your local town hall meeting to protest health care, send an email or make a phone call to your state legislators.

News The Mainstream Media Can't Use: "White Supremacist" Really Black

You won't hear much about it, because it violates the narrative. In the heat of a summer that's featured the term "racism" applied to everything from disliking the current president to wondering where his birth certificate is to asking any member of Congress, white or black, to read a bill before signing it, the Southern Poverty Law Center the other day breathlessly reported that white supremacism is on the rise.

But, in the case reported here, it's more like off its rocker.

An African-American man in Mississippi has pled guilty and will be sentenced November 18 for making threats on Facebook while posing as a white supremacist and claiming he planned to kill blacks because Barack Obama had been elected president.

The SPLC has made front page news lately with its hysterical claims that Obama is increasingly under threat from white supremacists,, with mainstream media outlets irresponsibly linking such threats to the restive citizenry appearing in town hall meetings. Yet this disturbing [information, according to the Administration, is not reflected in the President's security arrangements. In other words, the Secret Service thinks it's nonsense.

Gee, I wonder if the statistical trackers at SPLC will scrub this particular datapoint.

Or--in this new world in which the Secretary of Homeland Security thinks that "Constitutionalist" is a code word for "racist"--can a white supremacist threat still be a valid white supremacist threat, even if it's not made by a white supremacist--or even a white person of any kind?

Chuck Grassley Had a Town Hall

Actually, Chuck Grassley had several town halls today but we'll just focus on the one I attended in Adel, Iowa this afternoon at 4:30.

Grassley didn't do much to change my mind about him. He's had 30 years to perfect the art of having it both ways with every issue and he didn't disappoint today. Naturally, most of the questions were about health care and he wasted a good three questions worth of time with his opening comments trying to weasel a reason for being one of the weaselly Republicans trying to work out a "compromise" with Senate Democrats on health care reform. The bottom line he said, was that Democrats are going to do this with or without us and we're better off to have some skin in the game and get our ideas out there. He said he's opposed to government-run health care, opposed to single-payer, opposed to rationing of health care and won't stand for any of it. He also pointed out that there is no bill yet, at least on the Senate side. There are several problems with Grassley's take on this. I came prepared to ask several questions and narrowed it down to one after Grassley's opening statement. I held my hand up for nearly the entire hour with short breaks to shake the blood back into it. In the end, the fine conservative guy directly in front of me got called on just in time for Grassley to end the meeting. He didn't get his question asked and neither did I.

The question I was prepared to ask the good senator was this: You can blather on all you want about not supporting government-run health care, the single-payer option and rationing. But the bottom line is that the only proposal on the table right now is the House bill and the House bill is the definitive blueprint for government control. It is in fact, all garbage -- every page of the 1017 pages -- and has to be thrown out so real options can be discussed. Obama supports this bill, Pelosi supports this bill, Reid has expressed his support for this bill and anything that comes out of the Senate is going to resemble the crap that came out of the House regardless of how much Grassley is peeing his pants to "compromise" with Democrats. In fact, had the Democrats and Obama had their way, Grassley would have been staring the House version – full-blown government-run statist health care complete with aborting the babies and killing grandma (or at least counseling her that she’s better off to let herself die) – in the face as the starting point for compromise when he returns from this extended break. How can you "compromise" on this bill when it contains nothing that even remotely resembles what needs to be done with health care? Why are you trying to "compromise" and more than likely give Democrats the majority of what they want which is to say crap, instead of standing up and screaming at the top of your lungs what the real solution is: Tort reform, lessening the restrictions on the sale of health insurance so that policies can be sold across state lines just like every other type of important insurance and an emphasis on health savings accounts for starters – in short getting the government out of health care and empowering Americans to make their own health care choices. And perhaps we could institute real measures to fix the government health insurance plans that don't work right now -- the VA, the Indian health care systems, Medicare and Medicaid?

There were a couple of whiners -- one standing right in front of me that wasted a good question with her pap that I or someone else with a brain could have asked. She claimed to be a devout Christian and a liberal – an oxymoron if I ever heard one. She had several sharp exchanges with the guy in front of me who made no bones about the fact that he thought she was a little lefty whiner (which she most definitely was). During one of these exchanges, I happened to catch the whiner asking the good conservative guy “have you ever broken your neck before?” At that point, I just had to interject my comments. I stepped up and told her “as a matter of fact, my son broke his neck and thank God for the insurance company that paid the vast majority of the $300,000 bill.” To which she downcast her eyes and put on one of those pouty expressions whiny liberals are so adept at using when they come face to face with indisputable facts. (This is what the passive-aggressive liberals do. The Type A liberals just start calling you names.)

While I heard some folks on the news say that they were convinced Grassley was standing up for conservatism, I was completely unimpressed. What he was doing was paying lip service to conservatism – trying to tell conservatives what he though they wanted to hear. He’s only a little bit less of the problem than Tom Harkin, our entrenched Democrat weasel (I mean senator) is. Both of these guys need to be thrown out of office on their backsides.

Harkin Got an Earful at his Town Hall Meeting

The vast majority of the folks were opposed to Obamacare and Harkin insulted them by telling them they were part of an organized campaign to disrupt the smooth passage of a bill that would deprive us of our liberty, tax us to death and get the government involved in every aspect of our lives. Protesting Tom Harkin

When you're talking about Tom Harkin, there's a lot to protest so we narrowed it down and showed up at one of Harkin's events to protest the outrage of the month: His support of Obamacare.

Our angry mob consisted of four concerned citizens holding signs on the sidewalk at the entrance to a inner-city health care clinic where Harkin had an event scheduled. We welcomed people walking in the door to the event and many shared our cause. Although we may have been welcomed, our questions certainly wouldn't have been and our signs weren't, so we stayed outside.

We'll find out later this evening on the news, but I'm sure Harkin's remarks consisted of a bunch of empty platitudes about how socialized medicine will benefit the residents of this neighborhood enormously -- never mind the fact that other failed government programs exist that can provide health services for these folks and there's no sense in adding another larger one that is doomed to failure from the very start.

Kind of funny that Obama, Pelosi, Reid and the DNC want to paint us as an "angry mob" organized by the insurance industry and the RNC. I didn't even know the three other guys that were there except for having emailed back and forth with one who was an organizer of the July 4th Tea Party at the state capitol. The angry ones were the supporters of Obamacare. One called us idiots. Several took issue with my sign which read "Reject government-run health care! 30 million Canadians can't be wrong." When they tried to tell me the Canadian health care system was great, I told them "sure, unless you have to access it". One passer-by in an SUV slowed down enough to roll down his window and shut F-- ya'll at us. Now there's some rational debate.

This was my first time to really get out and make my opinion known in public and it sure won't be the last. Oh sure, I fax every representative under the sun; I try to influence anybody I can within in my sphere of influence; I email every state senator and representative during the state legislative session and sometimes they even answer back until you challenge them too much on their beliefs and agenda. The thing that has most impressed me in the last couple of years is that it shouldn't be this hard to be a citizen. Most conservatives just want to go about their business and hope the government will just stay out of their way. But the government is getting in our faces so we're all going to have to do more -- and that includes getting the the faces of our representatives and demanding that they either represent us or get out. Our very liberty and the quality of life for ourselves, our kids and grand kids are at stake.

Archie Bunker Sworn in on U.S. Supreme Court

Well, Sonia Sotomayor might as well be Archie Bunker. At any rate, the first Hispanic bigot ever to sit on the U.S. Supreme Court was sworn in today:

WASHINGTON (AP) —Sonia Sotomayor was sworn in Saturday as the Supreme Court's first Hispanic justice and only third female member in the top U.S. court's 220-year history.

She is President Barack Obama's first appointment to the influential court, which has shaped many of the country's laws on polarizing issues like abortion and the death penalty. As a successor to liberal Justice David Souter, who retired, she is not expected to alter the nine-member court's ideological balance.

Sotomayor took the second of two oaths of office Saturday from Chief Justice John Roberts in an ornate conference room, beneath a portrait of the legendary Chief Justice John Marshall. Her left hand resting on a Bible that was held by her mother, Celina, Sotomayor pledged to "do equal right to the poor and to the rich."

"[Doing] equal to the poor and the rich" is a quaint little notion that the bigot Sotomayor has absolutely no interest in as her 17 years on the federal bench have proven. Ask the New Haven firefighters. And I know, I know she paid lip service to the notion that she'll be fair on the bench, but her record speaks for itself -- and she's not fair on the bench. She sees herself and everyone that comes into her court through the prism of the color of their skin, their life circumstances or any other obscure characteristic she thinks might be applicable. And she thinks her job is to make law from the bench.

The Messiah may not have been able to find the poor lesbian welfare mother cross-dressing transvestite hooker he wanted for the bench. But I'm sure Sonia the bigot will do.

What a fun gal.

I wonder if Barack and Michelle Obama's friends Bernardine Dohrn and Bill Ayers will commemorate the occasion--maybe with a cake shaped like a murder victim you can stick a fork in? After all, they were, in the good old days, big fans of the Manson family and its wacky, anti-establishment hijinks.

As that madcap rebel Bernardine put it:

Dig It. First they killed those pigs, then they ate dinner in the same room with them, they even shoved a fork into a victim’s stomach! Wild!

Indeed.

The Weather Underground were actually quite fond of the Mansonian notion of instigating a race war to destroy the capitalist system (actually they were willing to give a hearing to anything that might destroy the capitalist system):

Hey, wait a minute. I think I've heard something like that before. From the mouth of yet another inconvenient yet unrepentant FOO (Friend of Obama). Where was that? Hmmm.....

I remember now! It was THIS guy:

Of course, the Reverend got the line a bit wrong--and in a way that made it kind of nonsensical. Bernardine's version has much more pinache. But, then, maybe, like his parishoner of twenty years, the president of the United States, he wasn't paying close attention the first time he heard it.

All that to say this. Despite a life term, Squeaky is going to be out on August 16. She had to do a little "extra" time (evidently, in California, life is shorter than we thought) for attacking a fellow inmate with a hammer. Also, in 1987, she escaped from prison in an attempt to get closer to Charlie (now there's a goal in life!) She does not appear to be the least bit sorry for her crimes, nor do we have any evidence of a religious conversion or anything like that.

So, I guess she will be coming back into society again, different only in her age (and her ability to wander loose among us.) Like Ayers and Dohrn, she is in her sixties and eligible to become a living legend of the Far Left.

Wonder what she'll get to be Czar of?

News That Will Come and Go Quickly

You know how the liberals hate it when one of those hateful, hating, hate-mongering anti-gay meanspirited conservatives gets to say "I told you so?"

Well, in Florida, there's a case of police corruption that isn't going to be the genesis of a movement to protect anyone. But let's go back a few years to when the primary actor in the drama, Jonathan Bleiweiss, a Sherrif's deputy in Broward County, made himself a hero to the gay commuminty.

Let's go to the end of the Sun-Sentinel article:

In January, Sgt. John Nash nominated Bleiweiss for Employee of the Year in the Oakland Park district. In his nomination letter, Nash included a long list of Bleisweiss' heroics, including making well over 100 arrests in the city.

Bleiweiss was also lauded for organizing a 30-person Broward Sheriff's Office AIDS Walk team for two years in a row.

A story in the South Florida Blade, a gay weekly, detailed the deputy's accomplishments as an officer and a gay community leader. Bleiweiss told the weekly that early in his career he worked with a sergeant who routinely made jokes about him and his sexuality, and once referred to him as a "sex offender."

A sex offender! Imagine that? How incredibly insulting and hateful...and perceptive.

Because, you see, as it turns out, the deputy [allegedly] has been using his color of authority to force illegal immigrant men (and boys) to have sex with him.

Oops.

Here is the arrest affidavit. As you read this (if you can stomach it), ask yourself what would be happening in the Florida media--and the national media--had this been a straight sheriff's deputy [allegedly] harassing, molesting, and raping female illegal aliens.

There would be a national "conversation" about police misconduct and the dangers of placing too much power in the hands of men with guns. There would be a "re-visioning" of police procedure already in play. There would be a sudden cascade of reports of similar behavior all over the nation.

Hilda Solis, our Secretary of Labor, would be demanding an investigation of the treatment of illegal workers by Florida police. Attorney General Eric Holder would be opening one. President Obama would be talking about his long history of protecting the undocumented.

But that's not going to happen

Instead, this example of where deviance inevitably eventually leads is going to be dealt with quickly and quietly, and confined to the lower Southern tip of the U.S.

And only those who follow the obscure news will have the chance to say "we told you so."

Yes, It's True: They Really Think We Are Stupid

The Drudge Report has a sweet piece of tape that the White House doesn't want anyone to see. It features a series of clips of Barack Obama as president denying he wants "some government takeover of health care," as well as Obama as candidate as far back as 2003 saying he favors a "single-payer" system. It also includes Illinois Congresswoman Jan Schakowsky happily telling a boisterous crowd that a "public option" will drive private insurance companies out of business.

The White House doesn't like this clip. In fact, it's so distressing to them that they've trotted out the Director of Communications for the White House's Health Reform Office (yes, that is apparently a real job now), Linda Douglass, to answer it. In the video clip released by the White House (here), she frowns at the Drudge Report, takes her impressively intellectual glasses on and off, and shows us some clips of President Obama claiming he wants you to keep your coverage and your doctor, if you like them.

Wow. I am so convinced.

It would seem that the White House doesn't understand that showing us a politician saying something now does not necessarily negate footage of the politician saying something different then. In fact, the older footage is more credible, because at the time it was taken, the politician didn't know what would be politically required of him now. And, obviously, now the politician has a vested interest in lying, because he knows what the current political climate is.

But we should pay no attention to that man behind the curtain, because President Obama's history begins when he became president. We are not to question--or even mention--anything that has come before. Not his lifelong connections to people for whom the single-payer system is the holy grail of health insurance. Not his actions or attitudes or legislation as an Illinois state Senator. Not the past writings of the people he's hiring by the truckload.

No, just listen to his words today. And nod and smile when Linda Douglass tells you to ignore the Drudge Report.

Geithner Attempts to Bully Regulators

It's hard to believe that anyone could be intimidated by this punk and let's hope that federal financial regulators weren't. But Tiny Tim Geithner gave it his best shot yesterday as he tried to bully regulators into going along with the Obama Administration's Hugo Chavez-like plan to let Tiny Tim shut down, take over and break up big businesses and banks on a whim:

NEW YORK, Aug 3 (Reuters) - U.S. Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner issued a stern warning punctuated with expletives to U.S. regulators to end turf battles and show support for President Barack Obama's plan to overhaul financial regulation, a person familiar with the situation said on Monday.
At a tense, hour-long meeting on Friday, Geithner told Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke, Securities and Exchange Commission Chairman Mary Schapiro and Federal Deposit Insurance Corp Chairman Sheila Bair to end recent public criticism of the plan and stop airing concerns over their potential loss of authority.
The Wall Street Journal, which first reported the meeting, said that Geithner vented frustration over the plan's slow progress and told regulators that 'enough is enough'.
Citing people familiar with the meeting, the newspaper also said that the Treasury Secretary used obscenities and took an aggressive stance in his dressing down of the regulators.

Yes Timmy wants them to "end recent public recent public criticism of the plan and stop airing concerns over their potential loss of authority" -- authority The Messiah wants to give to this petulant brat. I agree with Geithner -- enough is enough. We need to get this power-hungry tax-cheating punk out of power.

No New Taxes? Not So Fast!

There's an old adage about Democrats in general and lefties in particular: If they tell you they aren't raising your taxes, they're lying. They don't know how to do anything but raise taxes: Their propensity to redistribute wealth is instinctive and Obama let it slip with Joe the Plumber last fall. But for some reason, people didn't think they were talking about redistributing their wealth. Well, I got some news for those folks: Obama isn't any less of a liar than any other Democrat president. In fact, he's far worse than the last liar William Jefferson "it depends on what the meaning of the word "is" is" Slick Willie Clinton.

Not to boast or anything, because I'm not pleased to have to report this, but we conservatives told you folks that Obama and his lefty buddies were damn liars long before they came to power. Now White House economic adviser Larry Summers -- the guy who can't ever seem to stay awake when the camera is trained on him -- is being truthful about the fact that his boss is a liar:

WASHINGTON - A top White House adviser says he can't rule out a tax on middle-class Americans to pay for President Barack Obama's health care overhaul.

As a candidate, Obama pledged not to raise taxes for most Americans. But economic adviser Larry Summers says he cannot promise that Obama will stick to that campaign pledge.

Summers says it's too early to tell what will be needed to pay for a broad restructuring of how people receive health care.

So is the tax cheat Tiny Tim Geithner

"If we want an economy that's going to grow in the future," Geithner said, "people have to understand we have to bring those deficits down. And the path to that is through health-care reform. We're not at the point yet where we're going to make a judgment about what it's going to take."

First of all, any pretense of "no new taxes" has been a lie ever since the cigarette tax jumped 69 cents early in Obama's presidency. And this is a tax that hits lower-income people disproportionately. We already know that The Messiah doesn't consider allowing the Bush tax cuts to expire at tax increase. And we know that he'd love to get cap and tax through the house which provides for at least $3,000 extra a year in indirect taxes for the average middle-class family. Another thing we know for certain is that we're not going to have "an economy that's going to grow in the future" if we raise taxes. Raising taxes stifles economic growth -- it's a proven fact. Now, a little over six months into the Obama presidency, they are actually talking about higher taxes on the middle class -- you and I.

So what we have here is a bunch of lefties who pursued an "economic stimulus" plan that hasn't worked and never would have worked at a cost of tens of trillions of dollars in deficits. Now they are about to send us the bill for their mistake. And flying in the face of all reason and logic, they are telling us that raising taxes will cause economic growth. It'll never happen, but these lefties need to take a page from the Reagan handbook -- lower taxes stimulate the economy and increase treasury revenues which, in turn, lowers the deficit if you control spending: It's a proven fact that the commies in power will never admit. So when you hear official mouthpiece Robert Gibbs out there every day this week swearing up and down that The Messiah won't raise taxes on the middle class know that he's lying for his liar boss and Geithner and Summers made a mistake by telling the truth -- a mistake that they are paying for dearly behind those Oval Office doors to be sure.

"Cash for Clunkers" Back Up and Running

Yes folks after the House committed to pissing another $2 billion down this rat hole, even more folks can trade in their car for a new one under the condition that the dealer destroy the old one. And I'm apparently not the only one who thinks this is a stupid idea. The folks in the used auto parts business, known affectionately as junk yard operators, don't think it makes a lot of sense either:

DENVER — Not all auto recyclers are relishing the government's new cash for clunkers program, which requires car dealers to destroy the gas-guzzlers they get as trade-ins from new car buyers.

Used engines and drive trains are a big part of recyclers' income from each scrapped car, and under the federal program those engines must be destroyed. The idea is to promote fuel efficiency and help automakers, but it comes at a time when more than a dozen U.S. auto parts suppliers have filed for bankruptcy this year.

"Why throw away good parts when the supply chain is in jeopardy? It doesn't make a whole lot of sense," said Michael Wilson, executive vice president of the Automotive Recyclers Association based in Manassas, Va.

Engines and drive trains account for 60 percent of recyclers' revenue from a used vehicle, Wilson said.

Under cash for clunkers, the government is advising car dealers to replace a trade-in's engine oil with a sodium silicate solution and run the engine to ruin it before giving or selling the car to a scrap dealer.

As someone who is a car-lover in general and has a deep appreciation for the liberty and freedom the automobile has given us Americans, I must say destroying a perfectly good car under a government mandate has an Orwellian feel to it: Big Brother has said my car needs to be destroyed so I will dutifully drive it to the local auto destruction center, have it destroyed and, in its place, I'll get another car that Big Brother approves of in exchange for a car payment I either can't afford or wouldn't otherwise have saddled myself with in the name of doing my patriotic duty because Big Brother says my car meets Big Brother's arbitrary definition of a "gas guzzler". And I've already demonstrated to you that Big Brother is fudging the numbers to create more "gas guzzlers". My two vans certainly aren't the only two cars on that list that are having their mileage numbers "under-averaged" by the government in order to classify them as "clunkers".

This is pretty simple folks: The government has no business manipulating the car market in this manner and the government has no business attempting to dictate the types of cars we drive which is exactly what this is. And the "stimulative" affect on car makers is far less than the net effect on the overall supply of affordable older cars and car parts. Besides, after taking good care of my 13-year-old minivan (that has gotten 20 mpg for my entire 125,000-mile seven-year history with it, despite the government's 18 mpg rating) using the best oil and filters on it and shining it up like new twice a year, do you think I'm about to give it to some dealer so they can destroy the engine and transmission at the behest of Big Brother? I don't think so.

Crooked Chris Has Prostate Cancer

I wouldn't wish cancer on anyone -- even a crook like Angelo's "friend" Chris Dodd, but apparently Crooked Chris has the big C:

HARTFORD, Conn. - The state's senior U.S. senator, Christopher Dodd, has been heavily criticized for months, suffering from poor poll numbers and questions about discount mortgages he received.

The criticisms stopped Friday, when the 65-year-old Democrat announced he's been diagnosed with an early stage of prostate cancer and will have surgery soon.

Two of Dodd's potential Republican rivals in the 2010 election issued get well wishes, saying he was in their families' prayers. And Chris Healy, chairman of the state Republicans and a vocal critic, was one of the first to e-mail reporters a statement wishing Dodd "the very best in his treatment and rehabilitation."

"There's certain things that are political, and there are certain things that are personal," Healy said when asked about his statement. "I think the more we respect that line, maybe people's image of the political class might improve."

"There's certain things that are political" for sure Mr. Healy -- like the sweetheart deals on home loans for Connecticut Democrat politicians named Dodd .... or moving to Iowa to run for president -- THEN -- scurrying back to Connecticut to your senate seat after you get your ass kicked in the primary. And one might even go so far as to say prostate cancer is political. You see, Mr. Healy, as I said before, I don't wish cancer on crooked politicians but we're not the ones making an issue out of cancer and every other health care event that might befall an American citizen (or apparently even an illegal alien for that matter).

I think that in the spirit of the health care nightmare Crooked Chris Dodd is trying to foist upon us, Crooked Chris ought to immediately enroll himself in the VA plan, the Tribal health system or perhaps maybe just Medicare and run all of his treatments through one of those programs instead of the Cadillac program Crooked Chris will have regardless of the plan he comes up with to shove all of us peasants into. Better yet, maybe Crooked Chris could go north to Canada where he could be among the 57% of Canadians to wait more than two months to see an overworked, underpaid specialist despite the fact that the government in 2004 spent $40 billion to develop a reporting process to find out exactly how bad waiting times for health care are in Canada. Canada -- the place where 3.4 million people, better than 10% of the population, don't have a primary care doctor. And this is exactly the type of system that Crooked Chris wants us to have here except ours would be 10 times larger.

Seriously though, in the spirit of "bipartisanship" and in the interest of finding out just how well some of the provisions in the House health care bill work considering this seems to be the one The Messiah favors, let's make Crooked Chris and Ted "The Swimmer" Kennedy the Guinea pigs for the death counseling.

Despite my distaste for crooked politicians, I sincerely wish Crooked Chris well in his battle with prostate cancer and hope that his illness produces some epiphany in him that causes Crooked Chris to do a complete 180 on all of his political beliefs. Fat chance!

"Cash for Clunkers" Program Suspended

Apparently, the quickest way to spend $1 billion is to dribble it out to car buyers at $4500 a pop. Less than a week after the scheme to give people $4500 vouchers to turn in their old "gas guzzling" cars and buy new ones half of them can't afford began, the program is out of money:

Washington -- The Transportation Department is preparing to suspend the $1 billion "Cash for Clunkers" program at midnight, industry officials and congressional aides said Thursday.
Bailey Wood, a spokesman for the National Automobile Dealers Association, said the group believes the program would be suspended at the end of Thursday.
"This is the responsible thing to do," said Wood, who believed that all deals consummated by the end of today would be honored by the program.

Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood called key members of Congress to notify them that the government's program to stimulate car and truck sales was being tapped out -- less than one week after it kicked off. Officials were holding meetings looking for ways to continue the program, but that was unlikely.
Rep. Candice Miller, R-Harrison Township, who called on congressional leaders Wednesday to boost funding, called for emergency action.
"There can be no doubt that the Cash for Clunkers program is a complete success given the fact that the entire $1 billion allocated to the program was expended in less than a week. This is simply the most stimulative $1 billion the federal government has spent during the entire economic downturn. The federal government must come up with more money, immediately, to keep this program going," Miller said.

Forget the fact that it's not the federal government's job to rebate Americans on their purchase of a new vehicle, the government's got to come up with more money to keep doing it. By Obama's third year in office (will this country even be able to survive two and a half more years of this?) we'll have another auto "stimulus" -- this one to bail out the people who are defaulting on their now-old cars because they can't afford them.

What's a "Green Job"? If You Find Out, Let Obama Know

Turns out even Obama's lapdog liberal media brigade can't tell you. Newsweek attempted to find out to no avail:

President Obama devoted nearly $60 billion of his stimulus package to building a new green-based economy rich in renewable energy and strategies to cut carbon. But despite the price tag, not one green job yet exists. It comes down to a problem of etymology. No one can yet agree on what a green job actually is. The working definition paints a broad stroke: a job that's good for the economy while simultaneously healing the earth. But that leaves lots open to interpretation—natural gas is technically a cleaner fuel than crude oil, but it's still unsustainable—making it difficult, if not impossible, to measure whether eco-based jobs are being created and whether, as the administration has claimed, they're the saviors of a sagging economy.

This is a pretty damning assertion coming from the lapdoggyest of the lapdog liberal media magazines.

So among all the other lies told by the liberal's Messiah we have this whopper -- that we're creating millions of "green jobs". We'll tell you just how many millions when we figure out just what the hell a "green job" is.

Here's "Green Czar" (communist/anarchist/social agitator) Van Jones's attempt at a definition:

Well, we still don't have a unified definition, and that's not unusual in a democracy. It takes a while for all the states and the federal government to come to some agreement. But the Department of Labor is working on it very diligently. Fundamentally, it's getting there, but we haven't crossed the finish line yet.

That's 55 words to say: We don't have a definition for what a "green job" is. What is unusual in a representative republic -- we don't have a democracy, Comrade Jones, but I wouldn't expect an avowed communist to be able to correctly characterize the nature of our federal government (or at least what it's supposed to be) -- is to have three dozen unaccountable "czars", most of them with extreme radical socialist bents, and all their staffs, in the executive branch of the federal government. And I would hazard a guess that the vast majority of them are no better able than Jones to define what they are supposed to be in charge of. Your tax dollars and mine at work to fund a shadow government of nobody socialists doing nothing productive.

The Race-Baiters, the Cop, and the Beer

As more information dribbles out about the professional Harvard race-baiter, we find out that this whole situation is one about a race baiter with a bully pulpit (Harvard University and its skulls full of mush), a race-baiter with a bigger bully pulpit (The White House and the glaring spotlight of the liberal media) and a cop who was just trying to do his job.

All of the witnesses (regardless of race), the audio of the call, the police report and the police report of the officers who came on the scene all coroborate Sgt. Crowley's version of the events. None of the witnesses (regardless of race), none of the audio of the call and neither of the police reports even remotely match Henry Loius (Skip) Gates' version of the events.

What does this all add up to?

We have an elder professor of "Black Studies" (I challenge anyone to find any course of study on any U.S. university campus anywhere entitled "White Studies") who has, by virtue of his speeches, writing and teachings, been a racist for his entire adult life. We have a younger president of the United States who has a lifelong history of admiration for such racists, communists, Socialists, Marxists, terrorists and others of ill repute. Both of these men, despite their overwhelming successes and the successes of millions of other Black Americans, still see this country through the prism of race, are looking for any hint of a slight against their race and if they can't find one will invent one as they did here. Then, they pompously proclaim that in this racial firestorm they poured gasoline on there is a lesson for the rest of us to learn about race.

I guess the lesson to be learned here is that Black racists are just as much racists as White racists are except for the fact that we give Black racists a pass due to their race and social standing (as Gates told Sgt. Crowley "you don't know who you're messing with" or words to that effect). Now the Black Racist In Chief hopes that a couple of beers will just make it all go away so he can get back to pressing for the destruction of our health care system.

If I were Sgt. Crowley, my message to the President of the United States, with all due respect, would be "hell no!"
