Greatest Generation Veterans Defy Shutdown and Visit the WWII Memorial

This video should warm your heart:

These brave soldiers left on an Honor Flight trip to Washington D.C. before all the national parks were closed due to the government shutdown. These brave men (and women) literally saved the world 70 years ago. Most of them are in their 90s and this would be their last opportunity to visit the memorial. The folks who escorted them assisted in a little civil disobedience to help them fulfill the purpose of their trip. We own them nothing less. Who knows what the world would be like today if these young Americans hadn't given their all to defend freedom against Nazi tyranny 70 years ago. Four hundred and fifty thousand of them didn't return. This is the least we can do for these brave survivors of WWII.
