Pentagon Estimate says 75,000 Troops Needed in Syria

Barack the Terrible's excellent adventure in Syria may cost more than just a few cruise missiles. If indeed Barry is interested in doing something about Syria's chemical weapons:

Securing Syria's chemical weapons stockpiles and the facilities that produced them would likely require the U.S. to send more than 75,000 ground troops into the Middle Eastern country, MailOnline learned Wednesday.
That estimate comes from a secret memorandum the U.S. Department of Defense prepared for President Obama in early 2012.
U.S. Central Command arrived at the figure of 75,000 ground troops as part of a written series of military options for dealing with Bashar al-Assad more than 18 months ago, long before the U.S. confirmed internally that the Syrian dictator was using the weapons against rebel factions within his borders.
'The report exists, and it was prepared at the request of the National Security Advisor's staff,' a Department of Defense official with knowledge of the inquiry told MailOnline Wednesday on condition of anonymity.
'DoD spent lots of time and resources on it. Everyone understood that this wasn't a pointless exercise, and that eventually we would be tasked with going and getting the VX and sarin, so there was lots of due diligence.'
No, perhaps doing the estimate wasn't a "pointless exercise" but sending 75,000 troops into Syria would be worse than a pointless exercise.

So far, we've been assured by two known serial liars -- Barack Hussein Obama and John F'in Kerry -- that all they want to do is fire a couple of cruise missiles into Syria to "punish" the Assad regime. To what end? "Punishing" Assad is not a national security issue. And we still don't have any conclusive proof that Assad did gas his own people. We have to trust the liberal's president who through his mouthpiece Jay Carney and his rare press appearances and frequent campaign speeches, tells us lie after lie after lie after lie about everything from Obamacare lowering health care costs to the perils of man-made "climate change". And he expects us to believe him on his ass-saving Syria attack?

Russia may help Syria install a state of the art missile defense system. Syria has already had plenty of time to place human shields in the spots our feckless Administration has telegraphed that they will target. So what if these measures render cruise missiles ineffective? What then, Barry. The resolution approved by the commie libs and RINOs on the Senate Foreign Relations committee gives us a clue:
(a) AUTHORIZATION-The President is authorized, subject to subsection (b), to use the Armed Forces of the United States as he determines to be necessary and appropriate in a limited and tailored manner against legitimate military targets in Syria, only to: (1) respond to the use of weapons of mass destruction by the Syrian government in the conflict in Syria; (2) deter Syria’s use of such weapons in order to protect the national security interests of the United States and to protect our allies and partners against the use of such weapons; and (3) degrade Syria’s capacity to use such weapons in the future.
Don't see anything here limiting the "use of the Armed Forces of the United States" to launching a few missiles into Syria. To the contrary, the resolution states "as he determines to be necessary and appropriate".

So could the community organizer's presidential legacy be shooting his mouth off about military action and getting us mired in a war with Syria and Russia that could last for years and cost thousands of American lives? I wouldn't put it past this inept fool.
