25% of Social Secuirty Benefits Awarded Wrongly

Does this surprise anyone:

The Social Security Administration improperly awarded disability benefits in more than 25 percent of cases examined between 2006 and 2010, according to a new Senate report -- potentially costing taxpayers millions of dollars.
The findings conclude an 18-month investigation by the chamber’s Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations and show that roughly a quarter of the 300 randomly selected disability cases were awarded benefits “without properly addressing insufficient, contradictory and incomplete evidence.”
Each questionable decision can mean a big taxpayer expense. According to one estimate, the average lifetime disability award is $300,000.
The investigation was led by Oklahoma Sen. Tom Coburn, a medical doctor and the subcommittee’s top Republican. He said the bipartisan report shows information gathered over the past several years concludes the Social Security Disability Insurance and Supplemental Security Income programs are “teetering on financial bankruptcy.”
The 136-page report focuses on questionable benefits rulings made by administrative law judges, including one in Oklahoma who was found to have awarded more than $1.6 billion in lifetime benefits in just three years. Judge Howard O’Bryan, in Oklahoma City, approved roughly 90 percent of more than 5,400 cases from 2007 to 2009 -- most of them held “on-the-record” without hearings, according to the minority report.

How many times have I told you: The federal government does a lousy job of administering social welfare programs. It's time to get them out of the business of doing welfare. Obama Team Lowers Expectations for Debates

They've been lowering expectations for his first term for months now. You know the routine .... "inherited the worst recession since the Great Depression" blah de frickin' blah and on and on. But I digress. Despite ample available evidence that this guy trips over his tongue almost as much as Bozo Biden the Veep Jester when he's off prompter (parents rush to the emergency room to get their kid a Breathalyzer, Egypt isn't an ally but it isn't an enemy ... you know that kind of stuff.) we've always been sold the line that he's a superb masturbater... er, debater. But really folks, how good a debater do you have to be to best John McCain in a debate? The ObamaBot Zombie campaign team realizes that Mitt Romney will probably approach the 2012 debates with slightly more zest that his previous lackluster opponent. And so they are setting about the business of lowering debate expectations for their once and fallen messiah:

"While Mitt Romney has done 20 debates in the last year, he has not done one in four years, so there certainly is a challenge in that regard," Jennifer Psaki, Obama's campaign spokeswoman, said of the president on Monday.
With Obama edging slightly ahead of Romney in public polling seven weeks from Election Day, the three October debates could be one of the Republicans' best opportunities to break through with voters. But the high-profile events are just as crucial for Obama, who was an uneven debater during the 2008 Democratic primaries.
In that way, some of the Obama campaign's tactical lowering of expectations is also rooted in the truth. Aides say the structured — and time-limited — nature of the debates isn't a natural fit for Obama, who often is long-winded when answering questions during news conferences or town hall-style meetings.

Face it, Forward losers, your candidate is a pud. As a president, he's a pud. As a candidate, he's a pud. He'd screw up the happy birthday song if it wasn't running on a TelePrompter in front of him. It's not that he's long-winded, it's just that it takes him eight years to get out a cogent point out on the rare occasions that he DOES get out a cogent point. And speaking of rare occasions, when does he EVER have a "news conference or town hall-style meeting"? More often than not, as he has done during this entire Middle East crisis, he makes idiotic pronouncements and retreats back into the safety of the White House, our plane or limo or his campaign bus. And by the way, "the polls" had Jimma Cata leading Ronaldus Magnus by a large margin at this point in the 1980 presidential race and the sorry excuse for a president lost his ass at the ballot box six weeks later.

Bottom line: Lower the expectations all you want, ObamaBot Zombies. I'm willing to bet that Mitt Romney will do so well in the debates that it will be difficult for even the sycophants in the leftist "Forward" media to spin the outcome for Obama. And I predict that the Biden/Ryan debate is going to be even uglier for Biden.

Administration Lies About Lybian Terror Attack

Don't believe your eyes or what everyone else says, folks. Those 50 terrorists that showed up with heavy armaments such as rocket propelled grenades outside the Libyan consulate on 9/11 were a "spontaneous" mob. Or so says Obama Administration hack ambassador Susan Rice:

U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Susan Rice said the attack on the American consulate in Benghazi last week was not premeditated, directly contradicting top Libyan officials who say the attack was planned in advance.
“Our current best assessment, based on the information that we have at present, is that, in fact, what this began as, it was a spontaneous – not a premeditated – response to what had transpired in Cairo,” Rice told me this morning on “This Week.”
“In Cairo, as you know, a few hours earlier, there was a violent protest that was undertaken in reaction to this very offensive video that was disseminated,” Rice said, referring to protests in Egypt Tuesday over a film that depicts the Prophet Muhammad as a fraud. Protesters in Cairo breached the walls of the U.S. Embassy, tearing apart an American flag.
“We believe that folks in Benghazi, a small number of people came to the embassy to – or to the consulate, rather, to replicate the sort of challenge that was posed in Cairo,” Rice said. “And then as that unfolded, it seems to have been hijacked, let us say, by some individual clusters of extremists who came with heavier weapons… And it then evolved from there.”

Cuts to Defense Budget Looming at Exactly the Wrong Time

As far as I'm concerned, there is NO good time to cut military spending. There are plenty of opportunities to to clean up bloated military expenditures and find ways to get more bang for the buck, but indiscriminately cutting military spending a la the ridiculous "sequester" agreement spineless Republicans agreed to because they didn't want to force the issue of fiscal responsibility on Democrats is inexcusable. Now the Obama Administration is ironically complaining about a situation it created through its fiscal irresponsibility:

The White House presented a detailed breakdown Friday of $109 billion in across-the-board spending cuts scheduled for January, setting off a fresh blame game between the Obama administration and Republicans over responsibility for what both say is a preventable budgetary calamity.
The itemization of the so-called "sequestration" plan showed potential pain all around: $11 billion out of the Medicare healthcare program for the elderly, a $15.3 billion cut in defense procurement accounts and hefty cuts to a Department of Agriculture program that supports farm prices.
There was also a cut of $129 million from embassy security, which would be particularly ill-timed in light of deadly attacks on U.S. diplomatic posts in the Middle East, Africa and Afghanistan by Islamic militants in recent days.
"Sequestration would be deeply destructive to national security, domestic investments and core government functions," the report says.

Social "Security" Going Down the Drain at a Faster Pace

Are you counting on "Social Security" in your retirement? Consider the biggest story no one is talking about -- not that there hasn't been a lot to talk about this week with the media apoplectic over Mitt Romney's response to the terror attacks on our embassies and busily ignoring Barry's feckless response to the same. But this week Social Security achieved an infamous milestone that puts the already-troubled program in even more jeopardy:

It was easy enough to miss the press release. Goodness knows there was a lot to pay attention to this week. If you missed it, the government announced its payouts to social security and disability payments had hit annual records, even though there was still a month left in the budget year.
Through the end of August, the federal government paid out more than $591 billion. That's $3 billion more in social security benefits and $129 billion more in disability benefits than last year.
There is more evidence of the growing claim of entitlements on our budget and while nobody begrudges retirees who've spent their lives paying into social security claiming their fair share, the numbers of Americans getting disability benefits is concerning.

Is it any wonder that Gerri Willis at Fox Business is the only one reporting on this?

Jimmy Carter Supports Obama's "Carter Doctrine"

Yes, this doddering old fool who can't seem to keep his mouth shut is running his mouth again. But this time his diarrhea of the mouth is going to hurt the guy he wants to help. It seems that ole' Jimma' is talking about how he "handled" problems in the Middle East during his presidency. Which is bad for Barry because it highlights the similarities between the weakest two presidencies in modern history barely six weeks before the election. Of course the lefty college types lapped up Carter's message of war and conflict through weakness:

Carter got a very positive response in Des Moines Thursday when he defended his use of negotiations instead of war to solve international problems.
He said that in 1979 some of his advisers urged him to punish Iran militarily for taking the hostages, and he was told, "If you go to war, you're kind of a hero. If you stay out of war and prefer peace, you're too weak."
He did order a rescue attempt that failed. But he said a broader military strike would have killed tens of thousands of innocent Iranian civilians, so he resorted to negotiations, which were ultimately successful.
"Many people still look on that as a symbol that I was a weak president," he said. "But sometimes it takes more courage to preserve the peace than to go to war." At that point, many in the audience at Drake University gave him a sustained ovation.

This man has not gotten any smarter since he was president. "Sometimes it takes more courage to preserve the peace"? What in the hell is he talking about, "preserve the peace"? There was no "peace" Jimmy. Then, as now, we were at war -- a war we didn't ask for, a war we didn't start but a war nonetheless. And when you are attacked, you attack back harder and stronger which is something we were more than capable of doing but instead chose to stand by and wring out hands. And I hate to break it to this delusional old fool, but his "negotiations" were a hell of a lot less successful than was this absolutely certainty: That the fires of hell were going to reign down on this collection of radical nut jobs as soon at new President Ronald Reagan removed his hand from the Bible. This is perhaps why we had a split screen on that day in 1981 simultaneously showing Reagan being sworn in and the hostages returning home. This is what is called peace through strength.

The DNC's Freudian Warship Backdrop

It took the organizers of the Democratic National Convention six frickin' days to apologize for using a backdrop of Russian warships in its tribute to OUR veterans:

The organizers of the Democratic National Convention apologized on Wednesday for accidentally using an image of Soviet-era Russian warships in its backdrop during a tribute to veterans at last week's convention in Charlotte, N.C.

The ships were shown on a screen behind 50 veterans assembled onstage Sept. 6 during a presentation by retired Adm. John Nathman.

"Due to vendor error, incorrect images appeared briefly on screen behind fifty-one veterans during the convention and the DNCC apologizes for this mistake," a Democratic National Convention Committee spokeswoman said in a statement to the Navy Times. "This error should not distract from the words of Admiral Nathman and others who spoke to President Obama's strong record on issues that impact those who have served our nation."

At least the Democrats have learned well from their leader -- never take responsibility for anything you can blame on someone else.  But worse than them not owning up to their mistake is the dismissive attitude their "apology" takes towards this grievous insult to everyone who has worn the uniform and fought for our great country.

With the way Democrats like to genuflect to our enemies -- and make no mistake Russia is every bit the enemy the Soviet Union was due to the abandonment of peace through strength by William Jefferson the Philanderer -- you can't help but wonder if this was just another act of genuflection towards a jealous weakened loser nation whose president would like nothing better than to dominate us. I bet Vladimir Putin got a good laugh out of this -- at the expense of the 51 military men and women standing in front of a backdrop of Russian warships.

Romney's Right: Obama Foreign Policy is a Laughingstock

The problem with Obama's foreign being a laughingstock is that Obama's foreign policy is currently US foreign policy.

Obama's joke of a foreign policy proved deadly for four American citizens today include our Libyan ambassador Christopher Stevens. But all the ObamaBot Zombie liberal media seems to be talking about is Mitt Romney's response to the US Government's first official position on the attack on our embassy in Egypt. Romney's response is not the point but it gives the Obama sympathizers in the liberal media something else to talk about besides the actual news: That the Obama Administration’s policy of genuflection, weakness and confusion puts our standing in the world in jeopardy and puts all of us in greater danger.

Romney didn't react too quickly or "overreact" to the US embassy's statement. As Romney said, the US Embassy in Egypt IS the federal government. That fact that the Obama Administration ended up denouncing the statement and issuing a new one merely indicates the total confusion and lack of coordination and leadership in Obama's foreign policy.

This type of confused foreign policy makes the world a much less safe place than it is when the US leads with the doctrine of peace through strength. Communist dictators, radical Islamists and other bad actors like Russian President Vladimir Putin see Obama listening intently as tin pan Central American dictators run down the greatest nation on the face of the earth. They see Obama whispering sweet nothings in the ears of foreign leaders, making promises that he'll be able to smooch 'em real good when he's re-elected. They see Obama making promises to eliminate OUR nuclear weapons even as radical nut job states rush headlong into developing their own. They see Obama turning his back on Israel. They see Obama reneging on missile defense agreements with former Soviet-bloc states. They see Obama slashing the size of our military. They see all of this and they know that the great United States is being transformed into a paper tiger by a president who loves himself and his father's radical ideology more than he loves America. They laugh, knowing that in the era of weak US foreign policy, they can get away with murder. And they do.

Peace through strength worked for the eight years of the Reagan Era. The only time it failed is the one time Reagan showed weakness and we lost 200+ Marine "peacekeepers" in Lebanon. We showed weakness during the Clinton Administration and the next eight years were characterized by war. What will the eight years following an Obama defeat hold for us now that his lack of foreign policy leadership and weak response to attacks on our embassies have shown radical Islamists and the rest of America's enemies that they can get away with pushing us around?

If we don’t defeat this man and his feckless foreign policy in November, the safety and sovereignty of this great nation and that of all our allies around the world will be in grave danger.

Obama Snubs Israeli PM Netanyahu -- Again

Reuters claims this is a "highly unusual" snub, but anyone who is paying attention knows that Obama doesn't like Netanyahu or Israel. What would you expect from a guy who is best friends with Yassir Arafat's former spokesman, Rashid Khalidi.

Barry's peep's claim it's just a scheduling conflict -- he just can't find the time to meet with the leader of our staunchest ally. You can check out Barry's schedule here. He usually doesn't have much on it. For the guy that is supposed to be the leader of the free world, he doesn't have much of a public schedule most days. However his private schedule -- b-ball games, rounds of golf, Wednesday parties and the all-important sports picks -- don't appear. So he may indeed be a very busy guy.

Now we are at war: We have attacks on two of our embassies by radical Islamists. And the president is AWOL -- yet to make any substantive condemnation of the attacks on our sovereign soil. But you can bet that Barry will have a full schedule of campaigning on our dime in the huge private plane WE provide for him. What a guy!

What Happened to Obama's "Arab Spring" in Egypt?

We've known it wasn't true even before Barry made his idiotic "Arab Spring" comments about "democracy" in the Middle East -- chiefly in Egypt. Now it seems, we are seeing how foolist these comments were as radical Islamists storm the U.S. Embassy in Cairo. Oh, and did you know an American was killed today when gunmen stormed the U.S. Consulate in Lybia?

Nothing is more important than our standing in the world because if we don't have a strong prescence in the world and effective foreign policy, we can't lead free nations in assuring that the world is safe for democracy. From Egypt to nuclear proliferation in Iran to tens of thousands dead in Syria, to the mess in Afghanistan what does Barry do? He sits on his hands. When he responded to the situation in Egypt, his knee jerk reaction was to genuflect and apologize.

Barry betrays our staunchest allies Israel and smootches the butts of Communists and Cold War throwbacks like the current leadership in Russia -- don't wrry Russia, he'll have more leeway to kowtow to you after he is re-elected and can go full steam ahead with the ass-kissing. At the same time, Barry is deliberately weakening our defenses by slashing military budgets while increasing our dependence on foreign oil byt chasing the "green energy" pipe dream. Meanwhile, we continue to sell our debt to a country that 30 years ago was a third-world laughingstock under Republican presidents.

How long will it take to for a President Romney to begin to undo the damage Barry and his merry band of incompetents has done? It''ll take at least two terms of President Romeny, two of President Ryan and more than that to undo the damage Obama has done. Let's hope we get started down the path out of the dark days of the Obama presidency this November.

One of the ridiculous charges Democrats and the ObamaBot Zombie crowd are hurling at Romney and Ryan is that the Republican's policies somehow comprise a "war on women". As if a plan to cut everyone's taxes and stimulate economic growth to create jobs won't help everyone, including women. At any rate, Meghan Clyne in the Weekly Standard makes the superb point that Democrats are the ones who are defining "women's issues" as issues of women's genitalia. In other words, the Democrats want to drag women back to the "barefoot and pregnant" days and throw in a "by the way, we know you're too stupid to prevent pregnancy on your own so we'll allow you to abort your offspring right up until the time a doctor has to go in and kill it before it can be born alive". National Security not a Priority for Barry

Apparently, the once and fallen messiah would rather catch a quick pick-up game or a round of golf. At least this is what we are to conclude from the fact that he hasn't attended even HALF of his daily intelligence briefings during his presidency:

White House Press Secretary Jay Carney calls a new Government Accountability Institute (GAI) report finding that President Obama has missed over half of his daily intelligence briefings “hilarious.”


“It’s revealing that Mr. Carney did not dispute the Government Accountability Institute’s actual numbers,” said Government Accountability Institute President Peter Schweizer in an interview with Breitbart News. “That’s probably because our findings are drawn directly from the White House’s own calendar.”

The study found the following:

The Government Accountability Institute, a new conservative investigative research organization, examined President Obama’s schedule from the day he took office until mid-June 2012, to see how often he attended his Presidential Daily Brief (PDB) — the meeting at which he is briefed on the most critical intelligence threats to the country. During his first 1,225 days in office, Obama attended his PDB just 536 times — or 43.8 percent of the time. During 2011 and the first half of 2012, his attendance became even less frequent — falling to just over 38 percent.

The last time we had a president who didn't take national security and the terrorism threat seriously was during the Clinton Administration and we are commemorating the 11th anniversary of the result of that dereliction of duty. It's no coincidence that we just "celebrated" the 14th anniversary of Clinton's lies about Monica Lewinsky so we know where his priorities were. And this guy is the best they can do for an elder statesman in the Democratic Party, but I digress.We can't afford another president who is even less engaged in what should be one of his primary duties: To keep this country safe. Add this to the long list of reasons why we need to boot this guy out of office in November.

Barack Between a Rock and a Hardcore Teacher's Union

What's Barry to do? His overpaid, underperforming buddies in the Chicago public schools are pissed at his other buddy, Rahm Emanuel because he has a budget to balance and doesn't want to pay them overpaid teachers even more money:

After a weekend of unsuccessful 11th hour contract negotiations, the Chicago Teachers Union made good on its promise to walk out on more than 400,000 students at 675 schools.

We have failed to reach an agreement that will prevent a labor strike," Chicago Teachers Union President Karen Lewis said.

The strike follows more than a year of slow, contentious negotiations over salary, health benefits and job security after the school board unanimously voted last year to cancel teachers' 4 percent pay hike in the final year of their contract.

CPS went into full-on strike mode Monday, enacting a plan to keep 144 schools open from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. And after a violent Chicago summer, police Supt. Garry McCarthy said he's "emptying our offices" to patrol the thousands of unsupervised kids on the streets.

"This is a difficult decision and one we hoped we could've avoided," Lewis said Sunday. "Throughout these negotiations, we've remained hopeful but determined. We must do things differently in this city if we are to provide students the education they so rightfully deserve."

Moments earlier, Chicago School Board President David Vitale said more than 20 offers had been made to teachers throughout the talks in hopes of preventing a strike.

Still, there was no deal.

This may be the one and only time I have ever agreed with Rahm Emanuel. (BTW, this Chicago mayor gig is really getting to this guy -- he looks like hell, which is saying something for a guy who isn't all that great looking in the first place.)

Say it Ain't So Mitt -- Love Liberty, not Any Little Tiny Bit of ObamaCare

It's bad enough when our candidate's flunkies throw out the odd references to RomneyCare. But when our candidate endorses even teeny tiny bits of ObamaCare, it makes me want to pull my hair out:

(CNN) – Mitt Romney gave the appearance of taking a stunning new position Sunday when it seemed he was embracing parts of Obamacare, a law he's vowed – vehemently and repeatedly – to repeal if he wins the election. "So you'd keep that part of the federal plan," NBC's "Meet the Press" host David Gregory asked the candidate, referring to ObamaCare provisions about pre-existing conditions and coverage for young adults. Romney replied, "I'm not getting rid of all of health care reform. Of course, there are a number of things that I like in health care reform that I'm going to put in place."

As is always the case with the Clinton News Network, they aren't telling the whole story.

Note to Mitt: Ronald Reagan, you ain't but you ARE the Republican so that means you have 666 tattooed on the back of your head under that perfectly formed head of hair. They are going to distort everything you say anyway, so don't throw them any easily distortable quotes like "there are a number of things I like in health care reform that I am going to put into place" for God's sake! This gives them an opening to do exactly what they did which is slice off this tiny piece of the truth and throw it out there like red meat for the ObamaBot Zombies to distort even further.

The simple fact of the matter is this: There is NOTHING about ObamaCare that is worth a stinking pile of crap. It all needs to be repealed and the only thing that needs to replace it is liberty and free markets.

Obama Gets Post-Convention Bump

The parade of freaks, geeks, dependents and class warfare warriors apparently was a hit with the ObamaBot Zombies:

President Barack Obama got a sizeable bump coming out of the Democratic National Convention last week, according to several major polls released over the weekend.

A weekend Gallup poll shows Obama, who took pulling ahead of GOP contender Mitt Romney by four percentage points.
For weeks, most polls have shown Obama and Romney in a dead heat. His job approval number now stands at 52 percent, a nine-point jump since late August.

This despite what many considered a middling convention speech -- overshadowed by former President Bill Clinton's stunner -- and a bad jobs number report released on Friday. Obama has now transformed a two-point deficit into a four-point advantage.

These numbers might have more credibility if it weren't for the fact that they come from the same polling groups David Axelrod was bullying last week. 

Here's my theory: Slobbering ObamaBot Zombies, oversampling of Democrats and the fact that more welfare recipients answer the phone are responsible for these numbers -- shades of Reagan/Carter and Reagan/Mondale post convention ... And we know how those turned out. If I'm wrong and this holds up at the ballot box we apparently are a nation full of morons on the dole and we deserve what we get ... Liberal Lies About the Obama Economy

On the heels of the most convoluted Democratic National Convention in history (and that's saying something) with one of the worst acceptance speeches on record -- same old crap different campaign -- we have one of the main reasons why Barack Hussein Obama needs to be booted out of office on his ass: The fake, phony made up unemployment number that even Barry can't deny is piss poor:

U.S. jobs growth slowed sharply in August, setting the stage for the Federal Reserve to pump additional money into the sluggish economy next week and dealing a blow to President Barack Obama as he seeks re-election.
Nonfarm payrolls increased only 96,000 last month, the Labor Department said on Friday. While the unemployment rate dropped to 8.1 percent from 8.3 percent in July, that was because so many Americans gave up the hunt for work. The survey of households from which the jobless rate is derived actually showed a drop in employment.

Meanwhile, the labor-force participation rate, or the percentage of Americans who either have a job or are looking for one, has plunged to 63.5 percent — the lowest since September 1981. A total of 368,000 people gave up looking for work in August.

 So we have a smaller percentage of people in the workforce today with a population of 310 million than we did in 1981 with a population of 230 million -- 80 million MORE people, fewer eligible Americans in the workforce. If the labor-force participation rate were as high as it was when Barack Obama took office, unemployment would be 11.2%. Yet the claim is that unemployment DROPPED from 8.3 to 8.1%. The economy added 96,000 jobs -- a number that will no doubt be revised down when no one is looking as June and July's numbers were -- and 368,000 Americans STOPPED LOOKING FOR WORK. In real math terms this is a NET LOSS of 272,000 Americans from the labor force. And these types losses have occurred every month during the Obama Administration. Even with the unemployment number tricks, Barry's legacy is and unemployment rate that has NEVER been below 8% for his entire term.

Gas prices are double what they were when Barry took office, food prices are through the roof, yet we are told inflation is low and the number of food stamp recipients is at an all-time high. Shiftless Joe Biden tells us we've "turned the corner" and in his speech Barry asks for more time and that recovery from the "worst recession since the Great Depression" will require a little more time. How the hell long do you need Barry?????

As Charles Krauthammer pointed out on Special Report with Bret Baier tonight, this recession officially Barry whines constantly about ended in July of 2009 -- barely six months after he took office. He can't lay claim to turning the country around because he hadn't been in office long enough to have an impact. Nothing that he has done has improved economic conditions in our country for his entire presidency. All we have from him are broken promises and lies. Enough of this.There are those of us who knew this was a mistake before he was elected and there should be enough Americans who now know they made a mistake to join with us and boot Barry out of office in November. No less than our survival as a country depends on it.

Some quick impressions of the worst acceptance speech in presidential history: 

"America, I never said this journey would be easy, and I won't promise that now," he said. "Yes our path is harder -- but it leads to a better place." 

Lie -- "This journey" took Ronald Reagan about two years. Problem is, your not looking to put this country back the way it was, you're looking to "fundamentally transform" it. And destroying the greatest country God gave man takes longer than building it back up.

"I refuse to ask middle class families to give up their deductions for owning a home or raising their kids just to pay for another millionaire's tax cut," said Obama. -

 Lie, class warfare gets us no where.

"The truth is, it will take more than a few years for us to solve challenges that have built up over decades," Obama said.-  

 

This is getting repetitive.

On foreign affairs, Obama dismissed Romney and Ryan as "new to foreign policy" and criticized a comment that Romney made that Russia is America's biggest geopolitical foe. He also tweaked Romney for criticizing London's handling of the Olympic Games when the Republican visited them in July.

 

I'll take Romney's "new to foreign policy" approach compared to your naive to foreign policy approach aby day. And are you trying to tell me your three and a half years that began with pushing the red reset button in Russian relations makes you and expert?

"You don't call Russia our number one enemy -- and not al Qaeda -- unless you're still stuck in a Cold War time warp," Obama said. "You might not be ready for diplomacy with Beijing if you can't visit the Olympics without insulting our closest ally." --

 

How dangerously naive can you get?

 

Obama likened his struggle to that of Depression-era President Franklin D. Roosevelt in calling for "shared responsibility" and bold experimentation in bringing the U.S. economy further out of the worst recession since the Great Depression.

Don't give us this crap! How full of yourself can you get? We've had your "bold experimentation" and what scares the crap out of me is that you're going to double down on it in a second term. And spare us the "worst recession since the Great Depression crap" already. We know that's BS. Reagan took care of THAT recession 30 years ago.

Axelrod Bullies Polling Organization

When the polls favor Romney:

Emails between senior officials of the Gallup Organization show senior Obama campaign adviser David Axelrod attempting to subtly intimidate the polling firm when its numbers were unfavorable to the president.

After Gallup declined to change its polling methodology, the U.S. Department of Justice hit it with an unrelated lawsuit — alleging it had defrauded the government, The Daily Caller reports.

And, weeks after announcing its filing of the lawsuit, the agency that is headed by Attorney General Eric Holder has yet to officially serve Gallup.

“We have not been served with the complaint,” a senior Gallup official told The Daily Caller. “I think they are drafting an amended complaint, but we cannot file an answer or motion to dismiss until we’ve been officially served.

“We obviously have a copy that has been distributed online, but until it is served, it is not official,” the Gallup official said.

Justice Department officials did not respond to queries from The Daily Caller regarding the lawsuit.

If you think this sounds Soviet-style intimidation, you'd be right. And who better to do it than Barry's pet Communist from Chicago. 

This ought to scare the crap out of everyone because you can bet that Gallup isn't the only organization this command and control leftist administration is harassing, bringing the full power of the federal government to bear on a private polling organization. It'll only get worse in a second term when these thugs have nothing to lose. Can you say Venezeula-style command and control? Clinton: Obama's Economy "A More Modern Economy"

Record deficits, record unemployment, record home foreclosures, our of control government spending, record numbers of Americans on food stamps, increased wealth redistribution .. these are all apparently hallmarks of Obama's "more modern economy" according to William Jefferson Blythe "I did not have sex with that woman" Clinton:

Conceding that many struggling in a slow-recovery economy don't yet feel the change, Clinton said in a prime-time speech that circumstances are improving "and if you'll renew the president's contract you will feel it."
To the cheers of thousands of Democrats packed into their convention hall, he said of Obama, "I want to nominate a man who is cool on the outside but who burns for America on the inside."

You can check the record, Slick Willie: Ronald Reagan really DID inherit the "worst economy since the Great Depression" and turned in around within his first term .... by doing the exact opposite of what Barry has been doing. And the only thing about America Barry apparently "burns for" is to see our society as we know it burn to the ground. After all, getting even with colonial societies is Barry's "dream from his father".

Let's face it folks: Are you really going to believe a serial philanderer and impeached perjurer who's most famous line is "I did not have sex with that woman" when he tells you Barry Hussein Obama is the man to turn the economy around -- particularly when he's proven over the last four years that he isn't? As you heard above, half or more of the delegates clearly opposed adding God and Israeli recognition to the platform. But after three attempts, Antonio Villaraigosa simply deemed that the "No" votes were merely one-third of the "Yes" votes even though they clearly were half or more, and rammed the amendment though over clear objections.

This all started when astute reporters observed that Democrats failed to honor God in their party platform. As you can see, Little Dick Durbin got a little flustered and testy when questioned about this by Fox News's Brett Baier:

In a day chalk full of lie after lie, Mrs. Barack Hussein Obama had perhaps the biggest lie:

Either Michele is like Rip Van Winkle and has been in a deep sleep for the past three and a half years or she's on heavy drugs. A more likely excuse is that she is a willing an active participant in the web of lies, deception and divisiveness that has been the hallmark of the entire Obama presidency that her and her husband's minions are attempting to re-write at this convention -- the three days packed full of lies.

Where to begin with Obama's "us vs them"? How about "poor" vs "middle class" vs "rich" vs "millionaires and billionaires"? Black vs white? Law-abiding citizens vs "migrants"? (Liberals' code word for illegal immigrants.) "Workers" vs whatever the opposite of "workers" is which is by implication, of course, those who exploit "workers". Blacks whom "they" want to put "in chains" vs who? Whites? "Large corporations" vs "working families"? People who make "$250,000 a year or less vs people who make $250,001 -- "rich" vs "poor". People "who want dirty air and dirty water" vs what?  "Green" energy vs "the energy of the past" -- you know that stuff we all depend on TODAY to put in our cars to get to work. Richard Trumka and Andy Stern vs people who actually CREATE jobs? Cops who "behave stupidly" vs half-drunk FOB's?

This man is the most divisive president in the history of our country, unwilling to accept the ideas of those he doesn't agree with and always looking to demonize them. Let's hope for the sake of all of us we turn him into a "none of the above" at the voting booth eight weeks from now and elect Mitt Romney president.

Dems May Move Obama Speech to Much Smaller Venue

With a 50% chance of thunderstorms giving them the perfect cover for the lowered expectations for their fallen messiah's speech, Democrats may be looking at moving Obama's speech from an 74,000-seat outdoor venue to an indoor venue less than 1/3 the size:

Democrats are poised to avoid the danger of President Barack Obama accepting his party’s nomination before a partially-empty stadium by shifting his speech to an indoor arena and citing ‘severe weather’.

The Obama campaign have been working desperately to ensure that the 74,000-seater Bank of America stadium in Charlotte would be filled.

Buses for students from across North Carolina and even members of black churches in neighboring South Carolina have been arranged.

Footage of rows of empty seats at the stadium, home of the Carolina Panthers, as Obama speaks on Thursday night would be politically disastrous – an enduring image of the contrast between his campaign of ‘hope’ and ‘change’ in 2008 and his dour, negative struggle for re-election in 2012.

Now, it looks like the weather has come to the President's rescue.

As officials prepare to open the Democratic convention this afternoon, there are strong indications that the speech will be moved to Time Warner Cable Arena, which has a capacity of just over 20,000

Barry's come along way from those heady days in 2008 when it was all "hope and change" and the sky was the limit. We can only hope that his prospects for a positive outcome in November keep diminishing.

“With 'Lets Move!,' our goal is to end the problem of childhood obesity in a generation,” Mrs. Obama said. “And while we’ve seen some very profound cultural shifts, we still have communities that don’t have access to affordable and healthy foods. We still need to find a way to impact the nature of food in grocery stores, in terms of sugar, fat, and salt.”
Mrs. Obama also discussed the challenge of “educating families” on healthy lifestyles in a society where “TV is rampant.”
“[W]e need to keep educating families about how to structure a life that is healthy in a society where TV is rampant and communities don’t have enough resources in terms of sports and activities,” she said.

Yes, folks, we're to stupid to know how to shop and eat, too addicted to TV and need to be "educated on healthy lifestyles". Doesn't she mean "reeducated"? What a great idea! We can have reeducation camps to "educate families". We can force vendors to sell "affordable healthy foods" in the 'hood and we can "impact the nature of food in grocery stores by forcing them to sell what the chief of the food police thinks is appropriate.

Whatever happened to the good ole' USA where we used to have the freedom and liberty to decide what we wanted to eat when we wanted to eat it and to decide whether we wanted to get out and run a 5k or veg in front of the TV? These choices my be a the relic of a bygone era if Mrs. Barack Hussein Obama Chief of the Food Police gets a second term. But not for her of course. For Mrs. Food Police Chief, it'll still be Wednesday night parties with imported food from all over the globe.

•  Record government spending.
•  Billions of dollars in giveaways to failed "green energy" companies.
•  Bailed-out auto companies that are still failing -- Obama's favorite Volt a flop, GM stock way down from its IPO, Gm still owes us $50 billion -- they are hardly "roaring back". 
•  Record national debt -- ironically passing $16 trillion the day the DNC began.

Congratulations, Democrats!!!! A lot to celebrate here -- that is if you are trying to follow the "Dream from [your] Father" who was a drunken, philandering, anti-colonialist, communist whose dream was to make the evil capitalist countries pay for their colonial sins.

Democrats Desperate to Fill Huge Arena for Obama Speech

Hope and change are gone, gone, gone and Barack Hussein Obama is not the messiah anymore. We've found out that his "great oratorical skills" consist mainly of being able to read words someone else has written as they go by on the TelePrompter. There are no more fake Greek columns, people aren't swooning and passing out at Obama events. Even the whole spectacle of nuts chanting "yes we can" as if in a trance has gone away because even Obama's most ardent supporters realize that he fell far short of the hype. And when all you have to hang your hat on is "Bush did it, Romney sucks and I want another term" it's not hard to see why the Democrats are concerned about being able to fill a huge arena with ObamaBot Zombies for the "Bush did it, Romney sucks" acceptance speech:

 Desperate Democrats are handing out tickets to students and volunteers in a scramble to fill seats for President Barack Obama’s Thursday-night accepting nomination to a second term, according to The Associated Press.

The campaign needs to fill 74,000-seat Bank of America stadium to capacity when Obama speaks.

Doling out of tickets to just about anyone is a far cry from the “hope and change” fervor that permeated the 2008 Democratic National Convention in Denver.

“The entire campaign is very different, and by extension, so is the convention. (It’s) a little bit like renewing one’s marriage vows — important and special, but it does not necessarily have the magic of the first time,” Democratic strategist Chris Lehane told the New York Daily News.

They know they are facing an uphill battle because they've been having a hard time filling small venues. They were only able to get 6,000 people to show up in the middle of a university campus of 30,000 in Iowa. Obama minions were blanketing the campus of Des Moines Area Community College in hopes of finding enough students to show up at an event in downtown Des Moines -- 15 miles away. It's not looking good for Barry.

Happy Labor Day!

I hope everyone is having a good labor day and I hope everyone knows that labor day isn't just a way to get a day off before we all jump back into our fall schedules -- school, work, the upcoming holidays etc. It's a day to celebrate the greatness of this country and all the people that have worked hard to make this the greatest and most free nation the world has ever seen. The fact that tens of millions of Americans work hard, in their own self-interest in a capitalist society makes everything we enjoy in this country today possible. 

Unions, of course, like to claim Labor Day as their own and they have a different spin on it. I subscribe to the AFL-CIO email updates and thought there had to be an email from the AFL-CIO about Labor Day. Richard Trumka didn't disappoint. Here's part of his Labor Day message. it's actually pretty reasonable for Trumka:

Welcome to 54.5 Miles Per Gallon

I spotted this bright, shiny new vehicle in a parking lot today: It is a brand new Chevy Spark.

I'm certain the owner is very proud of it much like the owner of this Isetta was proud of it 50 years ago:

If they actually WANT to drive these contraptions, that's great. Problem is, most of us don't. If some Americans want to squeeze themselves into tiny, underpowered, unsafe little rattletraps, that's their choice. The rest of us shouldn't have to. But never mind that, because the Obama Administration DOES want us to drive these contraptions. Even this Chevy Spark, which they call and mini car, only gets 38 MPG on the highway. And you are looking at what you are going to be driving in 2024 -- or worse.

The Obama Administration just doubled the mandated Corporate Average Fuel Economy (CAFE) standards from 27 MPG to 54.5 MPG between 2017 and 2024. So what this means is that 12 years from now, every automaker selling cars in the US will have to have a fleet that averages 54.5 MPG. That's light trucks, cars, vans, all the types of vehicles we have come to know and love.

Chances are your car doesn't look like a Chevy Spark. I know none of my vehicles do. In a free country, I have the liberty to choose the type of vehicle that fits my driving habits and lifestyle. And I can't make room in my driving habits and lifestyle for a vehicle that looks like it was assembled from last month's aluminum can waste that has wheels smaller than my shoe.  I know I'm not the only one who values my freedom of choice in cars (among other things).

A Hard Stab in the Dark by the Leftist Media

Boy these folks are really scraping the bottom of the barrel with Romney if all they can come up with is that he didn't mention Barack Obama's failed Afghanistan policy in his RNC acceptance speech:

WASHINGTON (AP) — Mitt Romney's campaign is defending the Republican presidential nominee's decision to make no mention of the politically unpopular 11-year-old war in Afghanistan in his speech last week at the GOP national convention.
Romney was the first Republican since 1952 to accept his party's nomination without mentioning war.
Senior campaign adviser Eric Fehrnstrom told CNN's "State of the Union" on Sunday the closely watched national speech was a "home run."
The address was an opportunity to introduce Romney to millions of voters concerned about the economy, Fehrnstrom said, and with it Romney "accomplished what he set out to do, which was to talk about his better vision for America with more jobs and increasing wages."
The U.S. plans to trim the number of troops in Afghanistan to 68,000 by October.

Seems to me like Romney is doing the liberal media's candidate -- Barack Hussein Obama -- a favor for not pointing out what a poor military leader he is. Regardless, isn't this Barry's issue to address? After all, we lost 1,000 brave men and women in the theater under seven years of GW Bush and have lost 1,000 under Barry's stellar leadership in a mere 27 months. The total casualties for 11 years between Iraq and Afghanistan, while regrettable, is something around 6,000, The total for the Democrat war in Vietnam was 58,000 in the same time period. This tells us that leftist indecision leads to the deaths of brave men and women. And Barry's war is no exception. What is the objective at this point? We don't know and neither does Barry.

A decisive leader will know what to do to better define this mission or get the hell out. And it doesn't make a hell of a lot of sense for a potential future president to be telegraphing to our enemies everywhere what he intends to do about Afghanistan when elected.

If Romney tried to lay out a plan for ending this ill-defined conflict, the press would accuse him of trying to undermine Barry's "strategy" (or lack thereof). If he says nothing, they condemn him. In the leftist media, even a quasi conservative can't win for losing.

Nearly everyone has seen this slogan at an Obama rally this year:

But how many people actually know what meaning this has to Communism throughout history? Well, read and be enlightened, folks.

You see, this is just another manifestation of the liberal lie: Hang an audacious, bald faced reference to Communism out there -- even going so far as to use it as your slogan -- and dare people to call you on it. You can't tell me that David Axelrod, who cut his teeth in a Communist household and of whom known Communists boast of mentoring and working with isn't aware of the connection. Do you think Michele Obama's best friend in the entire world and Barry's closest adviser Valerie Jarrett isn't aware of this connection? Don't rely on my links -- all you have to do is search for Axelrod and/or Jarrett and communism or communist. Sure, there are the nutcase links there but you'll find plenty of credible ones as well.

If two of Barry's closest advisers are aware of the connection -- and given their backgrounds there isn't any possible way they couldn't be -- what is the possibility that Obama is unaware of the connection? Try slim to none.

This brash leftist administration is hanging its  ideology right in front of us everyday. It'll be on the podium in front of Barry at every campaign rally. Fool us once, shame on you. Fool us twice and we're all screwed. Of course about 47% of us weren't fooled the first time. The future of this country as we know (knew?) it depends on us being able to convince another 5-10% to come along with us and vote this leftist ideologue out of office in November.

Souix City Rocks: Obama SUX

The owners of an airplane hangar at the Sioux City airport (SUX) wanted to make sure the president was clear on one thing when he landed at the airport the other day: They built this.

SIOUX CITY, Iowa — President Obama received a less than warm welcome and a warning upon arrival at the airport here on the second stop of his Iowa visit, which was aimed at recapturing some of the magic the state gave his run to the White House in 2008.
Greeting Air Force One as it touched down under sunny skies and sultry heat was  a hand-painted banner draped across the top of an airplane hangar that reads, “Obama Welcome to SUX – We Did Build This.” “SUX” is the airport code for Sioux City.

Barry's campaign people are hoping against hope that they can change minds in Northwest Iowa:

This time around, the president’s campaign believes it can turn the Sioux City region blue by appealing to middle class values and highlighting the administration’s record of tax cuts for small businesses and families.
“We know the President has strong support in Sioux City so it was important to the him to spend time visiting with familiar faces and energizing people at this pivotal time leading up to election day,” said Obama campaign spokeswoman Jen Psaki.

Forget it, commies. One county in Northwest Iowa went 84% for Bush in 2004 -- the biggest percent of any county in the country -- and Obama lost big in this part of the state in 2008 despite winning the state with 54% or the overall vote last time.  These folks have their heads on straight and the aren't going to vote for Obama this time either. Don't waste your time, Barry, you can't fool them.

Top ICE Official Steps Down Amid Allegations of Sexual Harassment

Susan Barr, one of Janaet Napolitano's top deputies, resigned amidst pressure from a sexual harassment suit:

A senior Obama administration political appointee and longtime aide to Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano resigned Saturday amid allegations of inappropriate sexual behavior lodged by at least three Immigration and Customs Enforcement employees.

Suzanne Barr, chief of staff to ICE Director John Morton, said in her resignation letter that the allegations against her are "unfounded." But she said she was stepping down anyway to end distractions within the agency. ICE, a division of the Homeland Security Department, confirmed Barr had resigned. The Associated Press obtained a copy of Barr's letter.

 The suit was filed last May but hasn't gotten much publicity

Barr went on leave last month after the New York Post reported on the lawsuit filed by James T. Hayes Jr., ICE's special agent in charge in New York. Additional employees came forward with their allegations around the same time.

In one complaint, Barr is accused of telling a male subordinate he was "sexy" and asking a personal question about his anatomy during an office party. In a separate complaint, she is accused of offering to perform a sex act with a male subordinate during a business trip in Bogota, Colombia. She's also accused of calling a male subordinate from her hotel room and offering to perform a sex act. The names of two of Barr's accusers were censored in affidavits reviewed by AP.

This is one of the problems "cousin Janet" Napolitano has been dealing with lately. The other is that a group of ICE agents is suing claiming ICE officials are telling them not to do their jobs.

Lies and the Lying Liberals Who Tell Them Part Two

I must begin this installment with an apology to Robert Reich for calling him a troll. In reality, he doesn't look much like a troll but he bears a striking resemblance to a garden gnome:

If you could also see that Mr. Reich is, in fact, not much taller than your average garden gnome, the resemblance would make even more sense. Again apologies to Mr. Reich for saying he looked like a troll. That was extremely unfair.  Now on with the critique of his lame piece parroting the new leftist talking point that the Republican ticket are 'liars". 

As I mentioned yesterday, liberal lemming columnists are so predictable that deconstructing one liberal's lame column on the liberal talking point du jour is like deconstructing all of them -- not an original thought to be found. Liberals have no substantive position with which to criticize a Romney and Ryan, and therefore, have to resort to attacks. And liberals have made it clear that, for lack of anything else to attack, they are going to attempt to paint two squeaky-clean guys as liars. In the first installment of this series I deconstructed Des Moines Register columnist Rehka Basu's lies, now I'll do the same with Mr. Reich's lies. They are, in fact, nearly one in the same.

Reich joins Basu's fight from the top of the ticket. What is Reich's assertion? Do you even need to ask? Of course, Mitt Romney is a liar. What a surprise!

Reich is Bill Clinton's former Labor Secretary who in the past has tried to sell himself as an "economist" but has been so discredited in that regard that this article simply lists him as a  "professor of public policy at the University of California at Berkeley" which is code for "leftist hack on one of the most left-wing college campuses in the country".

Sheriff Joe Wins!

Sheriff Joe Arpaio, the liberal's most hated sheriff in America because he is no-nonsense, treats criminals like criminals and enforces immigration laws, won a big victory Friday:

PHOENIX -- The U.S. Attorney's Office has closed its long-running abuse-of-power investigation into Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio -- without any charges to be filed.

In a 5 p.m. Friday news release, Assistant U.S. Attorney Ann Birmingham Scheel, acting on behalf of the U.S. Department of Justice, announced her office "is closing its investigation into allegations of criminal conduct" by current and former members of the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office and the Maricopa County Attorney's Office.

Federal prosecutors have advised Maricopa County Attorney Bill Montgomery of the decision.

In a four-page letter to Montgomery, Scheel explained the reasoning for the decision.

Federal prosecutors decided to not prosecute matters tied to alleged misuse of county credit cards by sheriff's officials, alleged misspending of jail-enhancement funds and other matters. The U.S. Attorney's Office had already made public it would not pursue charges on those matters.

Feds like to do these late Friday document drops because it is easier to sweep them under the rug over the weekend. But obviously the only reason why they would be completely dropping all charges is because there was no merit to any of them. Congrats, Sheriff Joe!

Obama Administration Prevails in Its Bid to Diss Military Voters

Algore's campaign attempted to disenfranchise the military vote in Florida in 2000. Twelve years later, Barry's campaign succeeded in Ohio:

COLUMBUS, Ohio –  A federal judge in Ohio on Friday granted a request from President Barack Obama's campaign to give all voters in the swing state the option of casting their ballot in person during the three days before Election Day.

U.S. District Judge Peter Economus in Columbus issued a preliminary injunction in the case involving state law that cuts off early voting for most residents on the Friday evening before a Tuesday election. The law makes an exception for military personnel and Ohio voters living overseas.
Economus concluded that the law was unconstitutional in changing the in-person early voting deadline and that the state was wrongly valuing certain votes above others.

So our brave men and women serving overseas don't deserve any special consideration in voting. This is absolutely shameful but not surprising given the fact that this man loathes the military and is in the process of dismantling it piece by piece, ship by ship, plane by plane. He knows he doesn't  have the military vote and doesn't care to support them.

Lies and the Lying Liberals Who Tell Them Part One

 The lies that liberals tell are so pervasive and so essential to their ideology, that lying to liberals is just like breathing. Chronicling the lies would take encyclopedic volumes but I'll do what I can in several columns. The first deals with exposing the lies told about Paul Ryan's speech by one liberal columnist. Since most liberal journalists are like lemmings following each other off the cliff (much like Obama voters), exposing one exposes them all. So on with exposing the lies of liberal columnist Rehka Basu.

Since Paul Ryan’s convention speech on Wednesday, we’ve seen the liberals smear strategy unfolding against our candidate for VP. They have thrown the moniker “liar” up on the wall and are hoping that if they throw it frequently enough and hard enough, it will stick. Yes, they are hoping that if they say or write the word “liar” in the same sentence with Paul Ryan enough times, that the majority of Americans will eventually believe our young, good looking, squeaky-clean, well spoken, smart and earnest family man is a liar. I don’t think it’s going to work. However, the way this is supposed to work is worth chronicling for the uninitiated so that they can be better equipped to see through the bull crap.

The first part of understanding this is to realize that liberalism is a lie – every last iota of it – and the lie must be perpetrated on the uniformed time and time again in order to win people over to their side. Because, of course, if people had a clear understanding what liberalism was all about, a vast majority would reject it soundly. The first basic tenet of liberalism is that if you lie, be completely audacious about it – lie repeatedly and with reckless abandon. Then hope that the uninitiated won’t notice and over time the lie will become so pervasive that ordinary people will accept it as the truth.

Witness the big Man-Made Global Warming Lie. Despite the fact that two preeminent global warming research centers were caught conspiring to lie about GW stats in thousands of emails over a period of years, the lie is now so entrenched that it is accept by most as fact. Barack Hussein Obama, does this every day. In fact, you can be certain that if Barry’s lips are moving he’s lying. More on this later. There is nowhere where this basic tenet of liberalism applies more than when a liberal politician is in a tight race with a conservative politician. With this in mind, I give you 75% of the "voices and commentary" page of my local paper and two of the biggest liars in the business – local columnist Rehka Basu and troll professor Robert Reich (any connection to the Third Reich is completely understandable -- I think Third Reich might be his dad).

Federal Appeals Court Strikes Down Texas Voter ID Law

How many of you would object to proving you are eligible to vote by presenting a picture ID at your polling place? How many people do you know that don't have a picture ID? No one, I would be willing to bet. Never mind this, because a federal appeals court in Washington DC has ruled that the simple act of showing an ID at the polls is racially discriminatory:

Washington (CNN) -- A federal appeals court in Washington Thursday struck down the Texas voter ID law requiring photos for voters at the polls, calling it racially discriminatory.

The decision is a major victory for the Obama administration and its Democratic allies, which had challenged the law.

Texas Attorney General Greg Abbott promptly announced the state will appeal the ruling to the Supreme Court.

Republican Gov. Rick Perry signed the voter ID measure into law last year, but it had yet not gone into effect because the federal Voting Rights Act requires changes in Texas voting laws to be pre-cleared by the U.S. Justice Department.

Let's be honest folks: This isn't about "racial discrimination". It's about Democrats wanting to make it easier to steal votes at the polls. Anyone who is legitimately entitled to vote in this country -- regardless of race -- has a picture ID. You have to have one to drive a car, buy booze, buy cigarettes, get on an airplane, cash a check etc.

Democrat vote theft is a fine tradition going back decades. John F. Kennedy was pushed over the top with shady votes in Chicago. The Democrat's attempts to suppress the overseas military votes are legend. The Obama Administration is suing to prevent brave and dedicated military men and women in Ohio from having a mere three days to vote absentee.  Barry was a staff attorney for ACORN -- the legendary voter fraud outfit. Barry's own attorney general flatly refused to prosecute a clear cut case of voter intimidation at the polls during the Obama immaculation in 2008. Leftist Democrat nut case Al Franken won the deciding U.S. Senate seat in Minnesota by 310 votes in a state where 1100 felons voted illegally. I have personally witnessed attempts by liberal groups to badger and deceive authorities into allowing people they know to be ineligible to vote to allow to go to the polls.

As far as voter fraud goes, this voter ID ruse is about as transparent as it gets. It looks like this one is going to the U.S. Supreme Court. Let's hope Kennedy does the right thing because we know the leftists won't.

BTW if any liberal wants to take up the cause and attempt to explain how making someone show an picture ID to buy booze and cigarettes is perfectly okay but requiring one to allow someone to prove that they are eligible to partake in the most precious franchise of our republic -- the vote -- is racially discriminatory, go right ahead. I'll be happy to tear you lame excuse for an argument apart.

New Obama CAFE Standards Call for 54.5 MPG by 2025

What do you think a fleet of cars that averages 54.5 MPG will look like? Consider that this ridiculous contraption:

Yes, this is a "Smart" car. It gets 42 MPG -- 13 less that the new standard. This is also a "Smart" car:

Does this look "smart" to you? which brings me to my next point. The press is repeating the U.S. DOT talking points that "the new standards will save $8,000 in fuel over the life of the vehicle" Tell me, is what you see above worth the $8,000 in fuel savings? Because it is a proven fact that more people die in lighter, smaller cars.

I wonder where they get that $8,000 number? When you consider  that "the life of the car" is a hell of a lot longer these days than in the past. But perhaps these tin sh*t boxes won't last as long. Certainly, this particular "Smart" car didn't and sadly it would appear that the occupants didn't either. But for my eight-year-old minivan with damn near 200,000 miles and probably at least 100,000 more miles in it, $8,000 over the life of the vehicle ain't worth a whole hell of a lot (2.67 cents a mile using my example). And it certainly isn't worth the life of the occupants.
